The character designs are cute and they are diverse, but we don’t get to know the characters very well. I think the flashback parts are meant to introduce us to the characters but it really just confuses the plot.

It goes from a cute story to quite scary towards the end of the book. Will recommend to kids looking for a spooky book!

Dragoslava and his two vampire friends go on seemingly random quests given to Drago. This comic was super cute and very funny. I enjoyed the dark humor so much! It was like Adventure time but with way more vampires and magic. If you're looking for a cute and spooky graphic novel for the young readers in your life, The Accursed Vampire it a great pick!

This one was super cute and spooky! A great story about friendship and doing what's right (even if you're a vampire!). The friendships are strong and I loved seeing their backstories throughout the book. I genuinely laughed out loud quite a few times too. The art is fun and I just loved everything about Drago.

This graphic novel was an absolute JOY to read!! "The Accursed Vampire" is a charming story about a little cursed vampire named Dragoslava who deals with a curse and insecurities, while learning from their friends that that isn't true and that they have value. Even if Dragoslava is a bit of a sassy troublemaker.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this lovely ARC!
OMG This book was hilarious !!! I knew it’d be dorky but I didn’t expect it to be so funny!

“You are making an incomprehensibly huge mistake.”
“Yeah yeah, what’s new?”

Dragoslava is the cutest little non-binary vampire child with their vampire children friends. The Accursed Vampire has everything you need for a fun time with road trips and plot twists, blood sucking and trick-or-treating, and loads of quirky dialogue. For being an undead child, Dragoslava is very relatable. I loved their constant angry eyebrows. Their best friends are a vampire prince and a vampire girl with chicken feet (she’s my absolute favorite! she loves bugs).

“Be brave for your friends. They have been ready to be brave for you for a long time now.”

The narrative is about friendship, found family, and living your best undeath. The art is simple, cute, very classic young readers comic-looking maybe like Captain Underpants. This is a super fun read and great for kids! (But also for adults.) BONUS there’s a queer vampire living in a haunted midwest mansion with her witch girlfriend :’) Casual queer rep for kids!

I think this book definitely just became an annual autumn read.
This read would be great for fans of Mooncakes, The Witchboy, and Taproot.

An absolutely adorable middle grade graphic novel about three kid vampires and the found family they create along the way. Dragoslava may be an assistant to an awful witch but at least they've got their friends to keep them company. When the little vampires find some new friends in the older vampire and witch who may just be the very person Drago's witch sent him out to curse, well, things get a little complicated. But maybe, just maybe, Sara and Ayesha could be the final pieces to complete their little family.

Adorably illustrated and such a fun story. A very perfect read for Halloween or anytime you want something a little bit playfully spooky. And I love that at the center of it all is a cute little nonbinary vampire! What a good.

SUCH a cute book for kids who like spooky things! Dragoslava is a non-binary vampire child who falls under the control of a very bad witch who makes him do all kinds of errands and threatens to turn him to worms if he fails. When she sends them out to retrieve her stolen grimoire, Drago and their friends (two other kid vamps named Quintus and Eztli) end up meeting a lesbian couple made up of a witch and a vampire who take them in and turn them into a very weird little family.

Poor Dragoslava was turned into a vampire along with his whole family. Of course, his at an age where actions can come across as bratty. A witch in disguise asks Dragoslava for help and he decides to give into his vampire-self and bit the witch instead. The witch was less than amused. She accurses him to be her loyal servant and do all her bidding or else, she'll turn him into worms. Dragoslava had a few moments of happiness. He makes friends with the son of an ancient vampire queen: Quintus (hails from Roman times) and Eztli (less than ethically turned into a vampire to be able to travel/be friends with Quintus and Drago. Shenanigans ensue when Drago is tasked to retrieve the witch's grimoire. This mission leads the trio to Banesberry Falls where a vampire and witch couple help them out. Can vampires have a shot at redemption and a chance to do good?
Good part: the grimoire comes to life - a look comes to life (such an interesting concept!).
Better part: the character sheets at the start of each chapter. It's an awesome way to give some background and context to each character in the story.
Best part: the art is adorable, yet gothic. I utterly enjoyed it.

This was very cute, funny, and exciting. I loved the art style, and enjoyed thinking about the lives of these vampires and witches. This book covered some serious topcs with maybe too much humor, and didn't really resolve or fully engage with issues it introduced that could be alarming and upsetting for the intended age group (particularly Drago's relationship with their birth family, and their low self esteem). But overall it was very good, and I hope it has sequels.

"The Accursed Vampire" is a graphic novel about 3 child vampires traveling the world to help Dragoslava finish his jobs given to him by a mean, bitter witch lady. Lots of dark humor (nothing too adult) and fantastic art style to keep one reading for aaaalllllll eternity....

The style reminds me a lot of Adventure Time, especially some of the comics based off of the show, but it's absolutely adorable. (Not to mention the one Vampire looks like my favorite AT character, Marceline... <3 )

The sense of humor is great, it's dark humor so Drago will often request blood or something. I mean...they are vampires, after all. The art makes the lines even funnier with the expressions, Drago has the best ones, especially his tiny angry faces, haha.

I appreciate that even though it's more of a funny graphic novel, Drago and the others go through some pretty deep stuff. I like that Drago in particular questions his witch boss often and tries to seek affection but fails, it's very bittersweet in that.

Have fun sinking your teeth into this book! Fang-tastic book! This graphic novel will drive you batty! Insert more vampire puns here!

This is a really good graphic novel about a vampire and his friends doing tasks. I loved the illustrations which made me like the book even more!! I would recommend this as a classroom library book or just for any child who likes to read.

It’s a cute book on being a good friend but I’m not quite sure what age group the author is really aiming for. The story is reasonably complex but the characters of the three vampire children read as extremely young to me despite being centuries old... Does the author mean this for older grade school kids or for the early grade school kids the 3 vampire kids act and speak like? I enjoyed it but it wasn’t brilliant, just good.

This graphic novel had a lot going for it. It's a great friendship-adventure story. It has vampires and witches. It has magic and fight scenes. It also has a lot more emotion than I would have thought at first. Dragoslava is a vampire, turned young, and he's been cursed by a witch to do her bidding. They are told they are worthless and will never have a home or friends. Drago definitely has self confidence issues so it was great to see their friendships with Eztli and Quintus. The three of them go off on a mission to find a magic book. Along the way, we learn more about each of their lives and friendships. The art is simple but appealing. The story is fun and emotional. I'd hand this to a tween/young teen.

Overall a cute story about vampires and friendship. Has some poignant lessons regarding doing the right thing and doing what is right for you, wrapped up in a unique and adorable format.

A fun vampire book with plenty of friendship and adventure that will appeal to those who love graphic novels. Dragoslava and his friends go on an adventure from a witch who has cursed Dragoslava. Along the way we learn about all the friends and their backgrounds and how they became friends. Friends are there for each other even in the hard times and this novel shows that very well.

Being a kid is tough on a good day, but being stuck as a kid forever can take the cake. Join Dragoslava and his two kid vampire friends as they take on odd jobs, meet a couple of witches, move to a new town, oh yeah and try to defeat Dragoslava's evil witch boss before she ruins this new life the immortal kiddos have made for themselves.

Can they do it? Or will Drago's fear of his so called "curse" drive him to do the unspeakable and betray his friends both old and new.

Vampire stories of all kinds are my favorite and this one was good for all ages. The artwork and narrative were cute and also compelling. Can it be called "coming of age" if Drago has been alive for hundreds of years? Regardless, the story was fun and I would highly recommend it to kids and adults alike. Especially anyone into graphic novels and/or vampires!

This book was so cute and the illustrations were fantastic. It is very much a middle grade book, but it was still fun to read. The storyline had a lot of really great messages for younger generations like the importance of friendship and doing the right thing. It also had a great representation of a same sex couple which I think is a great thing to show the younger generations is perfectly normal.
