At 18 Phoebe believes she knows exactly what she wants from life, and who she wants to marry. She just needs to get him to notice her as a woman, and not as his best-friends sister. Unfortunately too often he criticizes her, more as a brother would do than as an admirer. When she is introduced to a newly arrived neighbor, Franklin Everly, he pays her sincere compliments and really notices her and things that she is interested in. Phoebe is not entirely sure what to think of his attentions and treats him the same way she would any other man.
Phoebe is not one to fawn over an eligible bachelor, but just as likely to shoot a gun as interview potential servants. Her personality matches her red hair and is an asset to who she is, especially when her friend and she are threatened by the Bride Snatcher who goes around kidnapping pretty young women and forcing them to wed. Phoebe and Mr. Everly's relationship deepens and they discover they are compatible friends. They support one another and encourage each other to do and be better.
Forever Phoebe was a very endearing read. It is a companion book to Escape to Everyly Manor. If you're looking for a relaxing and engaging read this is a great one.

A new to me author who penned a delightful clean romance tale. Phoebe is the youngest sibling with all older brothers. She may be the youngest, and a woman, but she sure knows what she wants, and she is not afraid to express her opinions. Thankfully, Franklin is not put off or intimidated by this fact. The siblings create a wonderful dynamic that is full of fun, banter and wit. There is mystery, discovery and plenty of charm. I will be reading Chalon’s backlist and all books going forward.

At the dignified age of eighteen, Phoebe Jamison knows she should behave in a manner befitting her station, as her three loving elder brothers often tease. Unfortunately, the lively young woman has a personality every bit as fiery as her red hair, a fact brought to her attention in the criticism from the gentleman she has long pined for. But not every man is of the opinion that a woman should be decorous above all else. The newest resident of Somerset, Mr. Franklin Everly, is considered a most eligible bachelor, and he is immediately drawn to Phoebe’s spirited nature as he becomes acquainted with the delightful Jamison siblings of Primly Park.

Franklin embarks on a friendship with Phoebe that quickly deepens into a warm and thrilling connection. But even as he fights for Phoebe’s attentions, a very real danger is revealed: girls in neighboring villages have gone missing, and the kidnapper is moving ever closer to Primly Park. Despite the guard of her fiercely protective brothers and Franklin, Phoebe must rely on her own strength when she finds herself in the sights of the Bride Snatcher.

Phoebe Jamison may only be 18 years old, but she knows what she wants, and it isn't sitting around with other women discussing boring topics. She and her lovely red hair, immediately catch the eye of Franklin Everly, who is new in the area. He forms a friendship with Phoebe and her brothers, Geoffrey, Abraham, and Peter, but Franklin must contend with Mr. Mason for Phoebe's affection.

I loved Phoebe and her brothers. They were fun, not at all snooty and staid like most of those in the Ton seem to be. Proper when at a ball but when at home at Primly Park they had horse races where the loser had to muck out the stall of the winner. Yuck! Phoebe is bit headstrong and knows what she wants, and that's something I love in a heroine. I can only imagine how hard, tiring and exhausting it must've been to remember all the dos and don'ts "proper" young women had to adhere to back then.

What's there not to love about Franklin? He's tall, handsome, and not afraid of women who speak their mind, which is a definite plus. Whereas, Mr. Mason was always correcting Phoebe in the ways of "proper young ladies", Franklin liked Phoebe for who she was.

From the beginning, I didn't understand what Phoebe saw in William Mason, except for the fact that he was handsome. It seems her childhood crush on one of her brother's friends lasted a little too long. I hoped that the more time she spent around Franklin, the more she would realize that Mr. Mason was not the man for her, and I breathed a hugh sigh of relief when that finally happened. If a man cannot pay you a compliment that's a big red flag and Phoebe, being a smart young woman, recognized that.

There's a mysterious thread running through the book about young girls being kidnapped and that is solved before the end of the book--no spoilers here. I would love to read a story about Phoebe's fun brothers Peter and Abraham.

4.5*

Another enjoyable Regency read that had me pulled in. There's a bit of mystery, some fun friends, some acquaintances that I wanted to slap, fabulous family relationships, and a sweet love story. I loved the way these characters were described and shown to be happy being who they were and not bent on society making them hide away who they really are. I like to think and hope that with all the rules put upon people by society and the ton that they still found a way to be true to themselves and not hide that away completely. But then again, I didn't live in that time period and wasn't raised with the same expectations as people were then. So I can't portray my thoughts and raising up as what theirs would be. But I still hope that, just like Phoebe in this book, real people in the Regency Era (and other time periods) were able to find ways to be themselves and find joy in that.

Ok, that little rant over. In all honesty though, I thoroughly enjoyed Phoebe and Franklin and the dynamics of their relationship. It was a gentle story and building of friendship and love. Besides their relationship, my next favorite part of this book was Phoebe's brothers. I loved them! They were just so much fun. I loved their banter, their fierce protectiveness, their friendship, their kindness to others, their own love stories (well one of them), their "bets," and especially their humor. Oh they had me laughing several times. I loved how they saw what was going on around them, or they were trying to brush off some of their actions as friendship. You'll have to read to understand. I just adored them and have to ask, Chalon Linton, are you going to be writing more stories with their brothers as the leading characters? I would absolutely love to read those books!

There's some mystery as to girls being kidnapped and why and who is behind it. The author wrapped it up nicely, I have a couple questions about it but don't want to spoil the book for anyone so I'll just keep them to myself and let you read the book. This is a fabulous story about friendship and being true to yourself, your friends and your family. The sweet love story was a great addition to it!

Content: Clean. Some mild suspense in regards to the kidnapper. A mild moment of peril. As far as romance content, just a couple kisses and nothing more.

I received a copy from the publisher, Covenant Communications, via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.

Happy Reading!!!

** spoiler alert ** I enjoyed reading this story while I was reading it. After I finished I felt a little frustration with the bride kidnapping plot but still the book was enjoyable.

Loved the sibling relationships in the book. Very cute interactions and fun banter. I loved that Phoebe was feisty, if a little foolish at the end and I loved Franklin. He was not only kind but accepting of Phoebe's not always socially acceptable personality.

Some reviewers have questioned the kidnapping aspect of the story and I've been thinking about it. It is possible that the kidnapper, who truly is evil, was finding people to sell the brides to, not in wealthy people in decent societal standing but in a much darker part of society who wouldn't be able to attract the finer ladies even if they had money. That would really be the only reason one would be willing to pay for a stolen bride. Unless they just enjoyed the thrill of it. In which case that person would be truly evil too.

As for why Phoebe didn't use her gun more prudently, I think perhaps she was so focused on saving her friend she wasn't thinking clearly to see that she could save them both. I wondered why they couldn't both jump on the horse and ride off but that would have left the kidnapper free to continue his evil. And shooting a person isn't really in her personality to think of it in the crisis moment. I really did want her to shoot him though. It is always a great moment when women can save themselves and that would have been a crowning moment. However, Hannah's method was good too.

I also questioned Franklin not being closer. Why wouldn't he be working his way closer from the moment Phoebe left him so he could be of more assistance?

Lastly I wanted more closure in what happened to the women who had already been kidnapped. If they had already been sold off and married was there any way to recover them? Can the men who bought them be jailed for their part in the crime? And those who might not yet have been sold? Did they recover them? Assuming that every regency romance I've read is correct and a woman would be ruined by a kidnapping even though they are innocent, would these women have any saving graces? Do the same rules apply in the country as apply in the ton in London? I've no answers for these questions.

I enjoyed the book but I liked the romance part more than the intrigue part. Still, I liked the whole book overall.

I didn't realize this book was linked to Escape To Everly Manor. It's been a while since I read it and I only have vague memories of Franklin, but now I'm eager to read it again. The Jamison family is a lot of fun. They remind me of my own family, except we were a family of girls with one brother, but the teasing and love is the same. I really enjoyed them and kind of hope the brothers all get their own books. Phoebe is a wonderful character. I loved her independence and feistiness. I only wished she could have seen the true Mr. Mason sooner. He was awful. Franklin on the other hand was all things wonderful. He was so good for Phoebe. I felt the ending was a little rushed, but otherwise I enjoyed the story.

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher through Netgalley, but this is my honest review.

#BookReview : FOREVER PHOEBE by Chalon Linton

"She found no particular fault with Mr. Everly; he simply was not William Mason."

I have really enjoyed Phoebe Jamison’s easy relationship with her brothers. The banters and teasing are fun and refreshing. I always wished to have older brothers. To be my protector and playmate and got that and more. It is easy for Phoebe to converse with men because she has three herself and has seen and assisted them in all sorts of situations. I like Franklin Everly from the start. He is a keeper. I keep on hoping Phoebe will see his kindness and sincere personality. But her heart has always pined for Mr. Mason. The race is fun but “the” incident is unexpected. I enjoyed the musical at Ravencrest so much. I think the kidnapping is unnecessary but it spiced things up. It also highlights Phoebe’s big heart as well as her stubbornness. I highly recommend this book for those who find regency romance pleasurable. 4.5 stars

This is the first book by Chalon Linton that I've read and it won't be the last! I loved it. Great writing, interesting story. I loved the fun-loving relationship between Phoebe and her brothers and how it was portrayed throughout the book. The mystery of the missing girls added an element of intrigue.

It was an easy read and I couldn't put the book down. Highly recommend to anyone who loves clean, regency romances.

Forever Phoebe is my first Chalon Linton book. I really enjoyed this fun romance. Franklin was a perfectly wonderful, charming, and brave match for Phoebe who is quite the adventurer. The mystery aspect of the story was just enough to add interest without taking away from the fun banter and romance! The banter between Phoebe’s brothers was actually my favorite part of this story. If you’re in the mood for a fun light read, this is the story for you!

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

This book was very sweet and capturing. It was a great distraction when I needed one, so thank you Ms. Linton. It is a slow burn romance that has a titch of intrigue and mystery in the form of the Bride Snatcher.
Phoebe is a strong character that provides lots of snark and independence. Her relationship with her brother is particularly endearing and I love their banter.
But really, the real show-stealer for me is 100% Franklin Everly. Friends. I love him. In a way that I completely admire him and want my sons to be like him.
A few favorite scenes: the dinner dance conversation, the races and prizes, Hannah, Geoffrey, the rainstorm and the burning habit.
The only reason I gave it a 4 and not a 5 is because there were two storylines that didn't close up as well as I would hope but my fingers are crossed that Chalon Linton will write another book that will tie it all up.
Definitely recommend this book, it's a great escape.

Overall, I loved this book (4.45 stars) I loved the banter between Phoebe and her brothers. I loved that she was strong willed and the scenes with Franklin. The Bride kidnapper was a little strange, as he was just mentioned a few times throughout and then more involved at the end. I felt like it didn't have much closure, or the fact that he was ruining reputations, etc. It just felt like it was swept under the rug in a way.

I would love to see a book for each of her brothers. I think the Author did a wonderful job at portraying them

I absolutely loved this book. It's a beautiful love story with enough realism to keep you turning the pages long into the night.

Another lovely romance from Chalon Linton. It’s a smooth, quick read with a naturally unfolding romance. But the familial love between Phoebe and her brothers was the most delightful and unexpected part of the story.

This is the exact kind of book I like to curl up beside a fire on a cold winter day. Chalon Linton's Forever Phoebe is a delightful love story. Phoebe Jamison has been infatuated with her brother's friend, Mr. Mason for years. Phoebe has three older, and very protective brothers to watch over her. Mr. Franklin Everly is a new gentleman in the neighborhood, and he is quickly welcomed to the neighborhood. It appears that Phoebe suddenly has two suitors. Which will she choose? I liked the fact that there was also a sneaky side romance going on with one of her brothers that broke the "pact," that her brothers should not be involved with any of Phoebe's friends.

I want to say how much I loved Phoebe's brothers, with their varied personalities -- oh, to have brothers like that! I also loved the horse racing and the wagers. What is a Regency period romance, without a bit of kidnapping. I loved the feisty attitude displayed by both Phoebe and her friend..

Most of all, I loved the fact that Phoebe, and the man she chose was a man that was truly in love with her. Yes, he thought she was beautiful, but he also admired the many good qualities that she possessed. It was a very sweet love story that made me swoon a bit.

I enjoyed this latest story by Chalon Linton. I was immediately drawn in by the cover, and the model fits the description of Phoebe perfectly. I loved her character! She had spunk, and in recency England, that is a treasure. I loved the Jamison brothers, and the relationship they all had. Linton's character dialogue did a great job in showing the love the family members had for each other.
Franklin was also done well. He was the perfect complement for Phoebe, who needed to be reminded of what love is and what truly matters.

Thank you NetGalley and Publishers for allowing me to read this wonderful story! I will definitely be adding this to my library.

Great new book by Chalon Linton. Phoebe is a spitfire 18 year old. She is fun, spirited and only has eyes for Mr. Mason. But when Franklin Everly moves into the estate nearby, everything takes a turn. The characters are interesting, witty and engaging. She has three very protective older brothers, that are just lovable. Their relationship is enviable. (Take that from someone with 3 older brothers!) The plot is solid with lots of bantering, romance, competitions, drama and a bit of danger. This is a wholesome regency romance that you can wrap yourself in a blanket and lose yourself in the story. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This was a fun story of Phoebe, a girl with a host of brothers, trying to navigate the waters of love. Does she want the man she's always known and pined for, but who criticizes her often and chides her for her free spirited choices? Or can she consider the newcomer, Franklin, who is steady, likes to laugh with her, and just might notice her?
Mixed in the backdrop of the story is a thread about some disappearances of young ladies in the area. Everyone is on edge, making Phoebe's brothers even more overprotective than usual. Will the mystery be solved? Who is taking these young women, and why? Will life ever go back to normal?

I did not enjoy this book as much as I expected.
The summary seemed appealing, but I did not liked Phoebe. I found her child-like and insensitive to others, and therefore I felt bad for the other characters, such as Franklin, especially when Phoebe ignored him, and I didn't truly wished for them to end up together. I even skipped a part of the book as I found it a bit boring, to me the story had too slow a pace.
Perhaps I'll give it another try later.

I was attracted to this book first for its beautiful cover. Also knowing the publisher I knew I was in for a clean read that would be good for young adults and up. This is the second in a series but I read as a stand alone. Phoebe and best friend Hannah are 18 and out in society in 1814 England. They live in the country and Phoebe is being looked after by her older brothers while her parents are spending the summer touring the Lake District. Phoebe has hopes of getting the attention of a long time friend Mr. Mason. At a dance a new neighbor, Franklin Everly, is introduced.

I enjoyed the romance between Phoebe and Franklin. They are strong characters and their courting is spent riding, shooting and in neighbor visits which are appropriate for the time period. Phoebe brothers banter is a highlight as they tease her and each other adding lightness to the story. But the brothers all seem to have the same personality and aren't distinguished individually.

I would rate the book higher except some plot points didn't make sense. A kidnapper taking pretty young girls to sell as brides (he doesn't seek ransoms). At one point there is a threat to kill one to get a different one which makes no sense. One is not of any higher value. If it is a trap, it is poorly executed. I'm all for women rescuing themselves but again it makes no sense in how things take place. Also at least two women were taken overnight and no one mentions the fact that they would have been considered ruined and would no longer be accepted in society. Those were the rules of the day. Instead of being an exciting climax it was frustrating to read. And to top it off the name of the kidnapper is not important to the story.
