I loved this character. Her personality was so engaging and fun. The story was told beautifully and offered a few surprises to how it would play out. It is definitely worth reading the previous work first but it does do fine as a stand alone novel.

I really enjoyed this book. The interaction between the siblings is what really makes the book fun. Phoebe is a well developed character. She is fiercely loyal to her friend Hannah. She has spunk but she is also sweetly innocent. I loved Franklin from the beginning. He is kind and gentlemanly and gets better the more you know him.

This feels like it should be the start of a series. Youngest of four siblings and the only girl, Phoebe is quite a strong young woman. Her feistiness comes from having red hair no doubt but leads her to be impulsive. This story takes the reader on quite an adventure as Phoebe navigates new feelings of attraction for either the man she has been interested in for years or the intriguing new neighbor. The plot of this book took a lot of turns and while somewhat predictable I thought it was a bit distracting from really getting to know the characters. I am always more interested in real fleshed out characters then I am on an exciting plot. I liked Phoebe and her brothers, but would have like to get to know each one's personality a bit more. I couldn't really distinguish one from the other. Add in Mr. Mason and Mr. Everly and there is just a whole lot of men with not much differentiating them from one another. The best scene in the book is the Musical Evening and the songs that were chosen. I guess I am just a sucker for a slow smoulder rather than fast paced events.

Totally clean and a pleasant read. I would be open to more books if this becomes a series as each of the brothers gets their own story.

I loved this book. I loved the Jamison family. The brothers are fiercely loyal to each other and their sister Phoebe, love to tease and are a whole lot of fun. Phoebe is spunky, loyal, mischievous and fun. Franklin Everly is everything a swoon worthy hero should be. This book was just pure clean fun and full of true romance.

Franklin Everly and Phoebe Jamison were a delight to follow through their aquaintance turned courtship.  The author takes time to thoroughly aquaint the reader with these vibrant characters.  I enjoyed the complimentary character traits and how they were so good for each other!

I received a complimentary copy of this book.  Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

A sweet Regency from Chalon Linton! Forever Phoebe is romantic and entertaining, though it wasn’t really my cup of tea. The story moved quite slowly for awhile, and the kidnapping mystery plot wasn’t realistic at all. I did like the characters and the fun, loving relationship between the siblings. 2.5/5 stars

Forever Phoebe was a light read that I thoroughly enjoyed! Phoebe has long wanted to be noticed by her brothers' friend, Mason, but does not seem to have feelings for her beyond friendship. He often chides her or offers her advice, but never true affection. Franklin is new in town and trying to fix up his estate. He meets Phoebe and truly admires her- he loves her fiery personality, humor, compassion. This story is really about allowing yourself to let go of childhood dreams and opening yourself up to new possibilities. It resonated with me as I had a childhood crush that I hung onto for far too long, before I realized what a horrible fit that man would have been for me. I loved watching Phoebe realize that for herself.

The kidnapper sub plot was unnecessary, in my opinion. The author could have left it out and made some minor plot changes; I think the relationships could have carried the book as it is a light-hearted coming of age story. I didn't dislike the kidnapper storyline, but neither did I feel like it added a lot to the book.

Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable "easy read." Would definitely recommend to a friend looking for something in this genre!

This was a fun read with a red haired heroine who has a mind of her own. It was interesting how she struggled to see what was in front of her, because she thought she wanted what had always been there before. How often we ignore the new for what is comfortable.
This was a fun story, I just wish the ending had included more details on the kidnapper. Maybe the next book....

I adored this sweet book. I've read a lot of regency romances in 2020 and this one is in my top 3 for sure. I absolutely loved Phoebe's brothers. Their banter and whit really made the book for me. I usually don't look forward to the dialogue moments between the side characters. But in this book I definitely did. Phoebe was great too. My only complaint was that the Bride Snatcher part of the book almost seemed like an after thought. As if it was added on later just to make the story more interesting. With that said I did enjoy the added intrigue.
Adored the romance! It was the most realistic romance I have read about in a regency book probably ever. Phoebe likes someone else and isn't suddenly in love with Mr. Everly. She and Mr. Everly actually spent time getting to know each other and eventually court for quite awhile before getting engaged. As apposed to suddenly being in love and deciding to get married after a week (as I have read in other novels). So I really appreciated the author making it more realistic for me. Would definitely recommend and I would probably read it again.

This was my first book by Chalon Linton. I was pleasantly surprised. I always enjoy a good Regency romance..

This was a classic girl-loves-wrong-man-for-her-but-can't-see-it book. Phoebe is infatuated with a Mr. Mason who really wasn't that great a guy anyway but was definitely not right for her. Eventually of course she realizes he mistake and recognizes that Mr. Everly is the man for her.

The kidnapping part of the story wasn't very interesting to me and was predictable but I realize books need some conflict or mystery in them to keep it going.

Overall a nice, quiet evening by the fire, kind of book.

Phoebe is a fiery character and her uncommon (for the time) actions made for an entertaining read. I also liked Franklin and the relationship Phoebe had with her brothers.

I didn’t feel like the mystery added to the story. It came across as an afterthought with little mentions of a kidnapper here and there, and then a chapter or so to bring it to the forefront.

I like this author. Although this wasn’t my favorite of her books, I would read more from her.

Fun story with great characters! Franklin was the perfect hero.
He was patient and thoughtful but was also fun and flirtatious. I especially loved the characters of the Jamison siblings. The banter between the was fun and clever.. They had such a supportive, caring relationship. I really hope there will be books about each of them in the near future.

Forever Phoebe by Chalon Linton, 224 pages. Covenant Communications, 2021. $16.
Language: G (0 swears, 0 “f”); Mature Content: PG; Violence: PG
BUYING ADVISORY: HS - OPTIONAL
AUDIENCE APPEAL: AVERAGE
With fiery red hair and three protective older brothers, eighteen-year-old Phoebe has few fears and fewer reservations. If only she could get her brother’s friend to notice her instead of scold her as an honorary, fourth brother. When a new gentleman claims his estate in the area, will the added competition encourage the suit Phoebe’s been waiting for?
Romance-wise, this book is refreshing because there isn’t a dumb misunderstanding that leads the main characters to hate each other before falling in love. Mystery-wise, the story leaves a lot to be desired since the focus is on the romance and the mystery only acts as the backdrop. Overall, the story is well-written; I was simply disappointed by the anti-climactic involvement of the kidnapping drama, though the resolution was better than anticipated.

I have to say, the interactions between the siblings was definitely my favorite part. They were playful and fun and I’m sure how we all wish our siblings would treat us.

"Forever Phoebe" is the sweet love story of Phoebe Jamison and Franklin Everly. The headstrong Phoebe is inexplicably determined to marry William Mason. Her incredibly candid nature is quite humorous at times, although the most amusing character is actually her brother, Peter. The banter of the Jamison siblings (Phoebe, Peter, Abraham and Geoffrey) is clever and witty.

Character development in this *mostly* lighthearted romance is hit-and-miss. Peter, Phoebe and Franklin are fairly well-drawn. However, I never understood William Mason or why he appealed to Phoebe. Had it been better developed, the secondary kidnapping plot would have worked beautifully.

I enjoy Linton's prose. Like her other works, this one is clean with few grammatical errors.

Thanks to NetGalley and Covenant Communications for an ARC of this charming novel.

#ForeverPhoebe

Phoebe, is the only young lady in a house of boys. She loves her brothers and relies on her mom and her best friend Hannah for female companionship. Phoebe, has tagged along with her brothers, from the time she was young, she learned to ride horses, race and shoot. Phoebe has secretly dreamed of her brothers best friend, William Mason, seeing her as more than a tag along. Maybe having someone new in town, will help Mr. Mason, see her in a different light. Franklin Everly is nothing like Mr. Mason, he sees her as a young lady and gives her compliments. There is a hint of suspense in this book, with a kidnapper on the loose, stealing young ladies at all hours of the day and night. I quite enjoyed this book.

Fiesty Phoebe Jamison has a difficult time being a "proper" young lady. At least, so says the friend of her brothers, who does nothing but criticize her. She's always hoped to live up to his standards but the arrival of the kind and handsome Mr. Franklin Everly has her changing her mind.

This was a sweet and enjoyable read. Phoebe was a delightful heroine to follow. She was cheerful and impulsive. Her interactions with her brothers were both entertaining and heartwarming. I didn’t understand her infatuation with her brothers' friend, who never had a nice thing to say to her. Convenience, since he was the only man she knew? She comments that he was handsome but his behavior was intolerable!

Opposite her is Franklin. He has inherited an estate and it has begun falling to ruin. He is a kind gentleman, eager to see things put right on his estate. He falls quickly for Phoebe's sense of humor and wit. Together they are a delight.

There is the plot point of the Bride Snatcher. In my opinion, the story would have been much better off without it. It didn’t affect the story a great deal. It seemed out of place and overdramatic.

Overall, it was a sweet read and one I would recommend to readers looking for a Regency romance.

Loved Phoebe and loved this book. I loved the character development Phoebe goes through in this book. Mr. Everly is swoon worthy and I love how the story developed. I also loved the bit of intrigue about kidnappings that kept me guessing what was going to happen. I hope to read books about all of Phoebe's brothers. The relationships were well written and I loved every bit of this book. #netgalley #foreverphoebe
