I really enjoyed this witty holiday romp. Was not quite as good as Beach Read but still thoroughly enjoyable for this Australians summer season!

I absolutely adored this book. It’s such a heartwarming and lovely book with a fantastic relationship. I adored both Poppy and Alex in different ways. They both felt so real, and had real flaws. I really thought there was some excellent character progression too. One thing that I thought was so noteable was that I didn’t love either the romance or the friendship more than the other. Both were well developed and the characters had so much chemistry that they worked either way!

I will be racing to the bookshops for every new Emily Henry now. Absolutely brilliant!

Thanks to #netgalley for the ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review. My first Emily Henry read, what took me so long?! I loved this book! Bestfriends Please and Alex are the polar opposites of each other-Poppy is free spirited, Alex is quiet and reserved. Every year they go away on a holiday together and have the best time...until 2 years ago when their friendship was torn apart. Poppy is miserable without her besty and desperate to put their friendship back together. Alex begrudgingly agrees to go on another holiday with her after their 2 year break. An enchanting read with very lovable characters, a fast paced read too. This book left me with a smile on my face. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐#emilyhenry #youandmeonvacation#netgalley #goodreads #litsy #thestorygraph #tea_sipping_bookworm #chicklit #bookstagram #bookqueen

This is a story about a couple who meet, and fall in love. The story follows them backwards and forwards through their various summer vacations. Not really my kind of story.

Loved it! After reading Beach Read last year I knew I had to read this new Emily Henry. I’m so thankful I got to read this one early too!!

This is a really sweet friends to lovers without the drama. They are so respectful of each other and it was such a realistic story. Their banter and character arcs were so well written I could have kept reading about them forever!!

Highly recommend everyone read this one.

I was apprehensive about picking this one up as it had been so hyped up, but it turned out to be an okay read!
Poppy and Alex have been best friends since college, despite being very different types of people. Every year the two of them go on a wild summer vacation together, but two years ago they fell out and haven't spoken since. Now? Poppy wants to go on one more vacation that'll fix everything.

I really enjoyed the layout of this story. We get two timelines, holidays past and the present, and it was fun to experience their antics. Truthfully, I am still a novice when it comes to romances, but I'm finding that I really enjoy reading those with the friends-to-lovers trope. Whilst the trope was done well in this book, I was baffled by how the two main characters couldn't see their love for each other as it was so blatant from the start?! The plot was quite slow and there were a few misunderstandings that made my eyes roll into the back of my head, but hey - what's a romance without misunderstandings? I'll admit that I struggled with Poppy a bit; Alex was a lovely character but I thought Poppy overstepped the mark a couple of times.

A good summery read but nothing spectacular! If you liked Beach Read then you'll like this one.

Many thanks to the author, publisher, and Netgalley for sending me a copy of this book in return for an honest review.

I really enjoyed Emily Henry's book 'Beach Read' thus I requested a copy of this book from Netgalley. Unfortunately there was something about the tone of the protagonist that irked me, causing me to eventually put the book down. Despite the plot being intriguing, I couldn't get past a character that I don't feel compelled to root for. This was just not for me.

This was one of my few five star reads of 2021! I can’t wait to recommend it for anyone who loved Beach Read!

After reading ‘Beach Read’, I wasn’t sure Emily Henry could get any better…but she did! A laugh a minute book that made me totally fall in love with the characters. I will be recommending to all of my romantic comedy loving friends!

This book is the easy read, cute romance that gives you all the holiday and winter sun you could possibly want! This book just made me so happy. I smashed through it in 24 hours and enjoyed dreaming about all the travel destinations. This book had me in absolute stitches whilst also feeling all warm and fuzzy. It was just the rom-com that I love. I adored the plot, characters, and multiple settings! I love the tropes in this, from the slow burn, to one bed and friends to lovers. It was just what I needed. It also reminded me how much I love romance books and why.

I loved Poppy and Alex, and found them both to be super likeable characters. I was rooting for them throughout. I felt that Poppy and Alex were developed well, but at points, I found the characters and their lack of communication frustrating. The chemistry between the characters was strong and spicy.

This book is the cutesy romantic comedy, full of all the best romance tropes, that everyone needs in their life (it also gets quite heated here and there😏). I would highly recommend it to anyone that fancies a cute romance.

You and Me on Vacation is a friends-to-lovers story about these two characters who meet in college and decide to go on one trip every summer until something happens and they drift apart. the book is about them meeting again for one last trip and facing what happened before.

i have to start by saying that this is my first emily henry novel. as she is a very popular romance author (on tiktok and outside of it), i went into this book with a lot of expectation, and emily henry managed to break through them all and surpass them. the writing was driving me to the edge, with alternating storylines between the past and the present, and i needed to know what happened and what was gonna happen. the characters also felt extremely real and somehow...relatable? all throughout the book, they were lost, made mistakes and picked themselves (and each other) up, and i just... it was so amazing and beautifully crafted. on top of it all, the romance was so well put together. we get to see the characters from the moment they meet, their feelings turn from friendship to romantic ones, and i am honestly in awe of it all.

so yeah, you should definitely pick this one up. i find the hype to be totally worth it.

I know I will be in the minority in this, but I didn't love this book. The premise of the book was about a 12 year friendship between Poppy and Alex, college besties that had a falling out two years ago. They had spent every summer vacation together. Now, opportunity gives them a second chance with a trip. I honestly had a hard time trying to read this. The premise was good, I love friends to lovers romance, but something was missing for me. The back and forth time frames was confusing at first. I lost track of time and place for them. The details were BORING. I didn't care what the hotel looked like at these destinations. At first, their relationship wasn't romantic nor did I see much chemistry from Alex. It was hard only getting her point of view. They seemed better off as friends. Then at 50% into the book I was finally invested! Things picked up and I liked the connection between them. The ending was cute and sweet. Overall, this was a okay romance that needed a lot of editing for those pesky boring details. Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for my ARC in exchange for my review.

Late to the review game but Emily Henry has done it again. A romcom movie in a book, I could imagine every detail perfectly and she nailed the balance of sweet and spice... With this and Beach Read, I can't wait to read the author's next books! Bring on Book Lovers :-)

I absolutely loved this! It was fun, sexy and with great one-liners. Poppy and Alex are two brilliantly written characters and their friendship was wonderfully written. I really liked the push-pull of their will they/won't they relationship and it reminded me a little of When Harry Met Sally, Great stuff!

Did I love this like I loved Beach Read? No. Is it still better than the vast majority of contemporary romance? Yes. Am I beyond excited at the prospect of Book Lovers? 100%! I will read anything Emily Henry writes at this point and I refuse to be objective!

The book is about a friendship over the years it was a bit of a slow burner to start with but got better as the book went on.

Poppy & Alex become friends and over the next few years they take holidays together and becomes their thing. Will this friendship turn into something else. Over the years they have other partners but things don’t work out.

It was funny in places and you could see that the couple would do anything for each other.

A funny and refreshing story. One that made me laugh out loud. This was the first time reading this author and I would love to read more. It was a fast-paced easy read that I read quickly taking in the vividness of the settings described by the author. A fantastic summer read!

Poppy and Alex have a beautiful friendship and the timeline of this story demonstrates this beautifully. The reader is so invested in their future and follows their summer holidays over 10 years. It wasn’t your typical friends to lovers tripe as both characters had to make sacrifices. Whilst the plot is forgettable, the connection between the reader and the characters was powerful.

When Poppy met Alex twelve years ago, she was sure that they'd never speak to each other again, but one year later the two find themselves driving home together. A drive that would lead to the duo becoming friends and going on holiday together every summer.
Until two years ago when everything went wrong.
This summer, Poppy is determined to give Alex the best holiday yet in order to rekindle their friendship.
Can Poppy and Alex's friendship return to the way it was?
What happened two years ago?

While contemporary/romance novels are not usually among my favourites, I liked the sound of this book and decided to give it a go.
I found both Poppy and Alex to be likeable and relatable protagonists. The duo were complete opposites personality-wise, but they got on really well and I enjoyed reading as their friendship developed. I liked that neither Poppy nor Alex were perfect - they both had past experiences that still affected them and they needed to work through.
The plot was enjoyable and held my attention, but I wasn't gripped and nothing happened that shocked or surprised me. However, I did find myself smiling several times while reading this and I liked Poppy and Alex's banter.
The writing style was easy to follow and at one point I thought the plot was going to go in a direction that I didn't want it to, but luckily it didn't.
I am a little disappointed that I didn't enjoy this more, but I would still recommend it.

Overall, this was an enjoyable read.
