This second book in The Amish Inn series by Beth Wiseman is an interesting story of Amish meets Hollywood! What a vast difference!

Evelyn Schrock happens to meet Jayce Clarkson, who is in the area to help his dad film a movie.
We learn many things about Jayce that definitely are not fitting for someone who might be interested in a sweet Amish girl. The innkeepers, Esther and Lizzie, who love to be matchmakers, feel Jayce is a good man, however, not Amish and could be a real heartbreaker if Evelyn should become interested in him.

There are many things in this book that bring laughter, particularly the character, Gus.

The book is so enjoyable that you do not want to miss reading it. I highly recommend it.

Thanks to Zondervan and NetGalley for the advanced copy. The opinions listed are my own.

Yes yes yes! This book is so sweet and fascinating to read. It’s always interesting (in my opinion) to read about non-Amish folks with Amish folks. You never know how it will turn out when two types of people meet and possibly fall in love. This book was fun and laughable at times. You will love it!

"An Unlikely Match" by Beth Wiseman
Release Date: 6.8.2021

Evelyn Schrock has decided she's waiting for her perfect match and won't settle for just anyone in her small, Amish community. She's satisfied working at the Peony Inn and helping her family.

She meets Jayce Clarkson, and this changes everything. Jayce is a good man, working for his father, who is producing a movie in Amish Country. Evelyn and Jayce become good friends. He figures if he can just work the month, he'll make enough money to leave for Los Angeles and start over.

Esther and Lizzie see the attraction between the two young ones, but Jayce isn't Amish.

What a cute story! I've enjoyed Ms. Wiseman's other books, so this one definitely didn't disappoint! I loved seeing the differences in Evelyn and Jayce's lives. I also liked seeing Jayce finding his place in the world.

I didn't realize there was another Amish Inn book, so that one is on hold now at the library!

Thank you to @NetGalley for the opportunity to read in exchange for my honest review.

I was so excited to revisit The Peony Inn which is run by the elderly widowed sisters Esther and Lizzie. Will they once again be back to their matchmaking?

A film crew takes up residence inside the inn and outside of it in motor homes. Jayce is the son of the filmmaker and they have a strained relationship. Evelyn is a young Amish girl who befriends Jayce, but can there be anything more there?

I love the character of Gus. He is a cantankerous elderly neighbor of the inn but i enjoyed how his true personality came through.

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the arc. The opinions are my own.

What a treat to return to The Peony Inn! Lizzie and Esther just crack me up. Their relationship with each other, as well as with Gus, make me laugh out loud. I especially enjoyed Jayce and Evelyn's journey to find each other. The juxtaposition of Amish life and Hollywood certainly highlighted the wide range of differences in cultures in our country. It would be interesting to discuss the similarities and differences with others. I can't wait for the next installment in this series.

We're back at the Peony Inn, revisiting Esther and Lizzie as they treat their guests. This time, they are serving an entire movie production crew! One of those crew members is a young man with some past life issues who is struggling to find his path in the world. Evelyn, an Amish girl who works at the Inn, finds herself falling for him...with feelings requited. It's an unlikely match for sure....but is it one that will last? Only time will tell! As an aside, one of my favorite parts of this book was finding out the history behind why Gus is so grumpy. I'd love to see him find a happy ending...
