Sweet and entertaining:
It was fun being back at the lodge in Oregon and seeing the matchmakers back in action.
Tara and James rubbed each other the wrong way however when forced to work together they came to realize that there was more to love than to hate. This was an enemies to lovers, fake relationship that had a good amount of depth, humour and heart.
I enjoyed watching Tara try to forge a new life for herself and go from a supermodel to a small town pastry chef but it was a bumpy ride, what with the media and her ex boyfriend showing up. Good thing she had bumbling and endearing James to help her along the way, plus of course the meddling mamas!
It was interesting being written from multiple points of view, however some of the tenses seemed off and there was a mix of first and third person dialogue which was jarring and strange. Despite that, I still thoroughly enjoyed this sweet, clean romance and can't wait for the next book in the series.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. All opinions expressed are solely my own.

This book has fantastic reviews so take all of this with a grain of salt! I’m a mood reader and it’s Christmas week so maybe I’m just not in the right mindset to read this book. Personally, I did not like the writing style at all. Things felt a little fast and the POV’s didn’t flow very well for me. I wanted to like the main characters, but I was too distracted but the flow of the book.

Ratings : 4.5 /5⭐

From the blurb :
🍰Tara Heinz began her modeling career at the tender age of twelve. After spending fifteen years drooling over forbidden foods, she does the unthinkable. She enrolls in culinary school and becomes a pastry chef.
After a nasty breakup with her rock star boyfriend that leads to tabloid war, Tara takes a job at a rural lodge in Oregon to escape the spotlight she no longer desires.
🍰James Cavanaugh is a farmer in Oregon. His days are spent building his business and his nights are spent sleeping, so he can get up at four in the morning.
🍰Ruby Cavanaugh has plans for her son that involve her new pastry chef. Of course, neither James nor Tara know what’s going on until it’s too late.

Honestly, I was so not in the mood of reading anything these past couple of weeks. To be precise, I'm totally into the Christmas vibes, I watched n number of Christmas movies, followed through a few light & fun series and had lots and lots of coffee (I mean, can you blame me :p) but this sweet rom-com story kept me hooked throughout. I loved the love-hate relationship between the main characters, Tara Heinz & James Cavanaugh. The match-maker mother Ruby Cavanaugh tries her best to put both of them together in various scenarios where you could feel a little spark of chemistry between them here & there. Of course, there were scenes in the book that had me laughing my heart out at 0200 in the morning, trying hard not to wake anyone around. This book was everything I needed. I was so much into the story that I had to finish it last night at 0314 hours. All the supporting characters complimented the story so well. If you loved reading A day in December by Josie Silver, I'm sure you'll like this book too. An entertaining read for sure. I'll say if you're in the mood of reading something light, sweet and cozy, this is the book for you, my friends.
I would like to thank @netgalley ,@xpressotours & the author of this book @whitneydineenauthor for providing me with an Arc of this amazing book.🤗

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I really enjoyed this book, up to a point. It felt like the first one in the series, with a bit of angst about will they or won't they? Then around 80% it focused on the ex and it made the romance between Tara and James feel forced. They were instantly together. Or maybe that's just me.
It was easy and fun to read, and I loved the descriptions of the food.

I overall enjoyed this book. I was impressed mostly with the two main characters, Tara was fantastic. Sassy and smart and strangely relatable for a former top supermodel that had been engaged to a rock star. James was equally likable and both of their moms were pretty adorable. It does make me want to track down and read the previous installment of this series where Ruby matches up her other son. I thought it was sweet that Tara's mom possibly found love as well, but honestly a lot of the scenes between Gwen and Billy I just found a little random and odd. They were cute together, but all the serious talks of war and politicians and war crimes and God - they are valid and I am sure realistic, but just so oddly jarring and out of place an this book. I don't pick up a romance novel to be preached at, no matter how small the storyline is. Honestly that is what knocked it down to a 3 for me. It was so late in the book that it just sticks in my mind and continues to irritate me when I think about it. Other than that I enjoyed the book and may give the author a follow.

I received an advanced reader's copy of Ain't She Sweet (Seven Brides for Seven Mothers Book 2) by Whitney Dineen from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Since I had read books by Whitney Dineen previously, I was hopeful that this novel would be as enjoyable as the others. Happily, it was!

The Good: The story was interesting to read, plus the characters were well written. I quite liked the dynamic between our main characters, former model turned pastry chef Tara Heinz and hardworking farmer James Cavanaugh. The dialogue between them was entertaining and their chemistry was readily apparent.

The Not-As-Good: The plot threads with secondary characters could have been cut down. The focus on Tara and James was more than enough.

Overall, I though this novel was fun to read and I look forward to the next in the series.

I really loved the blurb of this book and I'm so glad that I read this one. I have fallen for this small Oregon town. This book made me want to go visit and stay a night at the lodge. I was intrigued by Tara. I could easily be friends with her. She may be a former model, but she is down to Earth and has a heart of gold. I loved her and James. Boy did these two get off on the wrong foot. Thank goodness for meddling mothers because Ruby is at her matchmaking again. Plus there is another budding romance along the way that made me happy. The characters in this one are going to suck you right in. They are a delight especially everyone in Spartan. Though Tara's former life won't stay in the past and comes a knocking. I'm definitely going to go back to read the first book in the series. This was a delightfully funny story with a lot of heart. James, Tara, and Penny are going to make you fall in love with his book. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

I really like Whitney Dineen books and this was another great one!

I loved the sparks that fly between Addie and Brogan. They have great chemistry! This book is very G-rated so if you like romance without a lot of steam this us a great read!

This was an okay story. I liked the writing style and the characters but the whole thing didn't gel with me. I really liked the first book in this series though.

I think the main problem for me was that the book is simply trying too hard which reflects on pretty much every aspect. There was overall just too much going on (them not liking each other, the paparazzi, the Lovestory around Tara's mom, Tara ex,...) not just story wise but also with the characters, mainly James. I think he was supposed to be a somewhat sweet, loveable small town farmer. The sweetness kind of came of as childish in some parts and as if he wasn't particularly bright.
While I enjoy a dual point of view, here we have four. Tara, James and both their moms'. To me it was frustrating and didn't really add anything to the story.
Overall I think the storyline could have been simplified and instead of putting pretty much everything possible in there, the focus should have been more on the characters themself and their chemistry.

Through NetGalley, I received a free copy of AIN’T SHE SWEET (Book 2 of the Seven Brides for Seven Mothers Series) by Whitney Dineen in exchange for an honest review. Recent widow, Ruby Cavanaugh, has just successfully matched one of her sons. Since Ruby really wants grandchildren to love, she now intends to find her son James a mate. Ruby has decided that her pastry chef and supermodel in hiding Tara Heinz would make an ideal daughter-in-law. The primary problem Ruby has to solve is the dislike and animosity between the two.

I liked this book. It was a sweet, feel good romance with likeable, endearing characters.

The second in this series.

After success with her first match-making attempt, Ruby has plans to set up her son James with the new pastry chef Tara. James and Tara didn't get off to the best of starts, but Ruby keeps plotting. Will Tara's ex and persistent journalists ruin Ruby's plan?

Looking forward to the rest of this series.

Everyone hated it when their mother play matchmaker and James hates being set up with his mother’s new pastry chef, Tara. But Tara has a secret that most the town doesn’t know. She was once a famous model who recently broke up a engagement with a megastar.

This was a whirlwind of a book and I held tight the entire time. It was fantastic for a start. Whitney Dineen keeps the reader interested throughout and it is hilarious watching the two not want to be together but clearly thinking about it. I love how you get the two perspectives plus the meddling mothers’ POV on what is going on. The twist and turns of this sequel keeps you whirling and it honestly just makes you not want to put this down.

Thank you to Netgalley for allowing me an arc of Ain’t She Sweet.

This is the second book in the Seven Brides for Seven Mothers series, and once again I am in love. You knew at the end of the first book that James and Tara were going to be the next main characters and they were a hoot. Ms. Dineen brings Tara to life where she is relatable even though she was a supermodel that has turned pastry chef. James is a wonderful hero, and together their chemistry is off the charts. Bonus is Penny, because just cuddles/ snuggles.

I loved this book, and will definitely be continuing to follow and read the whole series as it comes out.
