Full transparency, this book wasn’t for me. It takes a very unique set of circumstances for me to LOVE enemies to lovers, and this wasn’t it.

The cover was adorable, which originally attracted me to the book. However, I found the characters unlikable, and the chemistry unbelievable.

I must firstly apologise for the amount of time it has taken me to provide a review of this book, my health was rather bad for quite some time, something that had me in hospital on numerous occasions and simply didnt leave me with the time I once had to do what I love most.

Unfortunately that does mean I have missed the archive date for many of these books, so It would feel unjust throwing any review together without being able to pay attention to each novel properly.

However, I am now back to reading as before and look forward to sharing my honest reviews as always going forward. I thank you f0r the patience and understanding throughout x

Thanks NetGalley for the preview!

This book had a great description but didn’t quite live up to the hype. I felt like the main characters had the same conversation one too many times. I liked the side characters but they did get a little mixed up for me. Their romantic scenes were hot and then their actual love seemed forced and way fast. Not fully developed.

This sounded like such a cute story. I really liked the idea behind the book but unfortunately I just could not get into it. I got put off after the silly spat between the 2 mc which felt a bit childlike and then the snipping afterwards. I just didn't enjoy the interactions between them and it made me lose interest in the book

This is cute, fun and easy! I liked the setting of Brooklyn and the cat cafe! The writing was quick and the characters were great!

"Can you fight like cats and dogs, and still be perfect for each other?"

I gotta confess, this blurb was what got me hooked from the start, because I absolutely love books with the belligerent sexual tension trope! I thought, wow, what could go wrong?

Apparently, a lot of things.

I didn't really like how the author built up their relationship, and wasn't a fan of the banter between the leads. To be honest, I almost DNF'd this, but I powered through for the review.

Really a miss for me.

Thank you NetGalley for providing me with an ARC in exchange of an honest review.

I ended up not finishing this book. This is a hate to love romance which has a veterinarian who comes at odds with his prospective match when she brings in one of her cats. I don’t know why but I just couldn’t get into the book. I could possibly give this book another chance in the future but I don’t have the intention of picking it back up anytime soon.

OK BUT CAN WE TAKE A MOMENT AND ADMIRE THE COVER

Ok... Now that we have that out of our system...

I loved this romance because of the suspense for these two lovebirds to actually admit they are in love. There is something so fine-tune about watching two characters love each other but not want to actually admit it to one another. It's so cute!! I love it.

McMurray, well done~!

I tried to read this and to listen to it on audio earlier this year, but I just could not get into it. I have no plans to pick it back up. This was a DNF for me. I hope you enjoy it more than I do.

I am not sure why the FMC found the MMC interesting. He was rude and dismissive about her work. This is a hard no from me. I DNF'ed this book as I could not believe in a HEA for this couple.

I enjoyed this book a lot, even though I'm usually not into the enemies-to-lovers trope. Yes, Caleb is a bit of a jerk but that actually made for some funny interactions and steamy lovemaking. Overall it is a very entertaining romance with funny elements and of course the best of all: lots of charming animals.

Already recommended it to some of my romance-loving friends and fellow cat enthusiasts :)

Okay so I enjoyed this one well enough, it was a really solid book! Nothing really bad about it. I liked the premise and I thought it was executed well enough, and it was really going for the enemies to lovers trope which I normally enjoy. This one did it well, but not amazing with this trope. I also thought that it was super sweet when they rescued kittens and really worked hard to make sure they all survived and had a great life. Also I liked the idea of a cat cafe, I thought it was super sweet and a really fun idea. Overall I really felt that the characters felt super real to me because they felt really flawed and that made them more human. But I think at times the flaws really got to me and I started to get annoyed with the characters. I really preferred Caleb to Lauren, mainly because Lauren felt really immature Honestly at first I really enjoyed the book and gave it a higher rating, but as time went on I found myself just not feeling the book that much and ended up lowering my rating in the end. I just felt that this didn't hit the mark for me, but I do feel that its a solid book and it has its fun moments. I do recommend this book if you're interested in the enemies to lovers trope. While it wasn't my cup of tea, I think others may enjoy this book well enough!

I really wanted to love this story so much! I was intrigued by the premise and had high hopes that I would love it (cat & dogs!!!) but unfortunately it fell a bit flat for me. After reading the blurb, I was expecting a cute, rom-com with flirty banter and good-humored bickering, but as the story progressed my hope was dashed again and again. Don't get me wrong, Lauren and Caleb were instantly attracted to each other and although neither of them were looking for any real relationship they decide to try their hand at a friends with benefits arrangement. Lauren had given up men after her ex got married and carried some insecurities and was very skeptical and cynical. Constantly picking fights and demanding their relationship be defined. Meanwhile, Caleb had been burned and was recently divorced and didn't feel a need to define their relationship beyond the arrangement they had agreed upon. IDK, the connection just wasn't there for me. And even though their chemistry was clearly palpable, which led to some steamy encounters, I just could not belief they had enough between them for a lasting relationship. 2 stars.

I didn't love this one. I generally try to keep my reviews pretty positive, but this books language turned me 9ff before I made it into the book in any meaningful way.. I also don't appreciate that the guy nedt friend felt like a prop. I may one day try this again. But I think that's unlikely

That you NetGalley for the advanced readers copy.

The idea of a Cat cafe was intriguing to me, although being allergic to cats myself, is not somewhere I would go. And I have no problem with Enemies to Lovers romance. However, the constant bickering between the Lauren and Caleb was too much. While Lauren the manager of the Whitman Street Cat Cafe was upset about her ex quickly marrying after their breakup, that was nothing like the bitter divorce that Caleb the new veterinarian at the clinic next door had been through. I found her too judgmental on the poor guy and found myself skimming too many pages because I did not have patience for the bickering.

I read an ARC provided by NetGalley.com and this is my unbiased review.

I‘m not quite sure what it was, but I think this book just wasn’t for me. My best guess is that I just think differently about animals and their care as it is portrayed in here. That being said, I am sure that a lot of people will enjoy.

This book had so much potential, but unfortunately the chemistry wasn't there and the story was slow.

Turns out I’m not a fan of enemies to lovers….at least not enemies to lovers the way McMurray framed it in this novel. The cats are darling, as is Hank the dog, and the side characters are fun. But Lauren and Caleb leaned a little too hard to enemies which made their eventual love not quite believable.

3.5 Stars
Caleb and Lauren both love animals. Lauren is the manager of a cat cafe that saves cats and finds them new homes. Caleb is the new vet next door in the vet clinic. Instantly they feel an attraction to each other but at the same time they 'fight like cats and dogs'. Can they deal with their hangups from the past and stay together or will they keep fighting the love they feel for each other.

I was super excited for this book because I love a good enemy to lovers trope and add in some fun animals and it should be a great book. Unfortunately it fell a little flat and I didn't feel entirely invested in the characters. I still enjoyed the book and loved the concept but I just wanted more from them.
