Perfect meal options for everyone. The recipes aren’t hard to make and ingredients aren’t scarce and we’re found all at my local supermarket. Family loved the recipes that I made.

I was honestly incredibly excited to see a cookbook advocating less effort and time in the kitchen. The idea was brilliant, it was easy to follow, but it just didn't quite hit the mark for me.

Unfortunately, due to the bare minimum ingredients, most of the recipes were lacking in the flavor punch I am used to cooking with. However, for other who may be short on time and are happy to skip the flavor punch, this book might be right for them.

This cookbook's main goal is to make cooking more attainable to the average person, and I think that's wonderful. It contains everything from suggestions about meal planning, the basics of cooking techniques, stocking your pantry, and more. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to cook at home more often, but struggles with the practical side of that. Particular recipes I will be trying include: Ginger Scallion Turkey Burgers, Cacio e Pepe Mac and Cheese, and Kimchi Cabbage Cakes.

This was a nice cookbook. I liked the variety of recipes and found them to be easy to follow. I will check out more from this author.

I was a little disappointed in this book. While the photos are lovely, the recipes are basic and underseasoned. One recipe calls for store-bought, prepared spring rolls, lettuce, and store-bought dipping sauce. Many others are only seasoned with salt. New cooks may enjoy this book, but more proficient ones will find it lacking.

I actually feel like I could cook everything in this cookbook and not set the kitchen on fire. I really appreciate that. The food looks absolutely delicious and is presented in a way that makes me hungry even when I wasn’t. I definitely feel like I could get a lot of use out of this cookbook when I want to cook something easy that doesn’t take a lot of effort but still looks like I spent all day on it.

This cookbook could be extremely helpful for someone who isn't used to cooking, someone wanting to try out new recipes without the mess, or a busy person/family. I found that some of the recipes could use more seasoning/flavor, but I understand that the author was trying to keep the ingredient list low and the time short. I appreciate that the author also made the meals quick to make, and used jarred/frozen ingredients so you don't have to make everything from scratch.

This cookbook was a great read in discovering new recipe ideas that have bare minimum ingredients. As a mother who works I found it very interesting to get new ideas for cooking meals for myself and my family. I would definitely recommend this cook book.

I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher through netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This book is well written and informative. The author did a great job writing this book. Every recipe looks delicious. This book is definitely helpful when trying to figure out which recipes to make. I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone. This book is in stores for $18.99 (USD).

The dinners contained in this cookbook are definitely as advertised, with few steps and ingredients. I think some spices may be needed to make the meals pop. It’s a good starting point for brand new cooks as long as they’re willing to deviate a bit for flavor.

Thank you NetGalley and Mariner Press for providing me the eArc in exchange for an honest review. I've been sitting on this review for quite some time. The title says it all "Bare Minimum Dinners". It breaks recipes down into several categories of minimum ingredients, minimum dishes, minimum prep, etc. If that is your desire each and every meal, this cookbook belongs in your kitchen. I found this cookbook does not really fit my style of cooking. I would select meals to cook and then immediately modify the recipe. Many people will find this a valuable time saving cookbook.

An interesting concept: focus on doing less in the kitchen and focus on enjoying food more. The best part of "Bare Minimum Dinners" is the Setup section. It has lots of great tips for being efficient in the kitchen and putting the focus on enjoying what is created without being too formal. The pictures are very good, but I do wish there would have been one for every recipe.

Where this cookbook fell short for me was in the ingredients for each recipe. A good number of them include ingredients that are neither inexpensive or easily accessible. This cookbook would be a good fit for someone who is short on time but not on access to special foods.

Thank you to NetGalley & the publisher for providing an eARC for review.

As someone who likes cooking but doesn't love it, I sometimes get overwhelmed by recipes, especially when everything is made from scratch. I liked how this book had no shame in including jarred Tikka masala sauce or precooked chicken tenders. I will definitely try some recipes, especially the vegetarian ones.

Love the concept of lose the concept of Instagram worth dinners the whole time.

This book aims at getting a tasty, nutritious meal in the plate fast.
It concentrates in one part on using just 7 ingredients. How fab is that?!
Another section has recipes for the slow cooker or insta pot (fab at this time of year! (November). Or when we need to be out and about but need to get back and have our meal straightaway when home.

Not all the recipes would be for me. But I love the concept and will definitely be making some of the recipes.

This is a simple-to-follow cookbook that might be a good gift for someone just setting up their first home. It has good advice for minimizing food waste, as well as time in the kitchen. There was a wide variety of cuisines represented, and all recipes appeared easy to prepare. Personally, I didn't find too many dishes that were unique or that I'd want to try.

What a perfect cookbook for ANY kitchen especially now that we are busier than ever but still want to eat at home. The author’s goals in this book are to prepare dinners fast without losing the big flavor. She shares her 9 commandments of Bare Minimum Dinners like letting go of “Instagram worthy” expectations as well as her Non Negotiable Dinner Rules such as always providing a veggie.

Chapter 1 sets the stage by setting the cook up for success with the right tools and pantry items. Chapter 2 contains recipes that gets dinner on the table fast. Chapter 3 is all about 7 ingredients or less recipes. Chapter 4 streamlines cleanup with sheet pan recipes and the like. Chapter 5 is dedicated to Instant Pot and slow cookers. And chapter 6 explores new takes on salads, grains, and veggies.

There are so many tasty dishes in this book, I can’t wait to try them all! There are recipes for exotic twists on old favorites like Korean Sloppy Joe’s and Casio e Pepe Mac&Cheese to simple twists on simple foods such as Mediterranean Tuna Sandwiches, as well as preparing old favorites in new ways like preparing a big batch of lasagna in the slow cooker.

This is a cookbook for the seasoned cook who wants to streamline the dinner hour as well as the brand new cook. This would make a great Christmas gift this year, don’t miss this one!

Thank you to Netgalley, Mariner Books, and Jenna Helwig for this eARC in exchange for my honest review.

I love this minimalist recipe book! Grab this - you will reflect and reread it many times!

The purpose of this book is genius. The author, despite her extensive culinary training, refocuses on quick, balanced meals meant for busy families on busy weeks.

She focuses each chapter on a different goal, minimum ingredients, minimum clean up (one tray), instant pot, crock pot etc. She gives lots of input to all readers to personalize and upgrade the recipes as well, including "ingredient tips", "swap outs", ""ways to add more", "Dress it up", "Make it meatless", "make it meaty", and/or "Round it out" ( to add sides)

I highly recommend! You won't be disappointed!

I was hoping for more from this book. I like the idea of simple dinners, but was hoping for more than "just make tacos with fish sticks." I didn't try anything from this cookbook, which kind of tells you how uninspired I was by it.

As a lover of cookbooks, I can attest Bare Minimum Dinners stays true to its title. This cookbook is for those who have limited time and need simple recipes without sacrificing flavor.

The first thing I noticed when opening this cookbook was its format. It has a minimalist, clean look with photos for many of the recipes. One of my favorite features is the book being divided into five Bare Minimum sections:

- Time (30 minutes or less)
- Ingredients (7 ingredients or less)
- Clean-Up (one-pot/sheet pan/skillet meals)
- Hands-On Time (slow-cooker and Instant Pot meals)
- Sides (super simple vegetables, salads, and grains to round off your dinners)

This is nice for those who have a specific peeve when it comes to cooking.

To get a well-rounded feel of the book, I tested three recipes each from different sections - Instant Pot Turkey Chili, Chicken Enchilada Casserole, and Ginger Scallion Turkey Burgers. All three were simple, healthy(ish), easy to follow, and can be easily doubled/tripled if needed. I felt well taken care of as ingredients used were low-cost and easy to find in a general grocery store. Even better, taste was not sacrificed for simplicity. In fact, the recipes are flexible and leaves room for the reader to make the recipe their own with toppings and helpful suggestions to bring their meal up a notch.

Whether you are limited on time due to working long hours or attending to your family, Bare Minimum Dinners will be your saving grace if you need to get meals on the table with minimal effort.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review, which has not altered my opinion of this book.

I believe that this book would work very well for many people, however, in my household it just does not match with how we make our food. This book is what it advertises, as a cookbook requiring minimal preparation, this would be great for families who need more time to prepare, both vegetarian leaning and non, because this book has both. There are some interesting looking recipes, but none of them sounded appealing to me.

However, this book is very aesthetically pleasing and I can see exactly why it would be a staple in the collections of so many people. 3 out of 5 from me.
