I wished I had a chance to read The Sudden Caregiver: A Roadmap for Resilient Caregiving before my husband passed away of cancer. I believe it is a good book for all caregivers. Five stars.

I so needed a help book for caregiving. I am one now, and it gets very overwhelming. It was not the one for me. It seemed the writer wanted to talk over my head. I felt even more frustrated as I tried to take notes, maybe it was written for someone with a better head on their shoulders. If it helps anyone I am fine with it.

This is an excellent book for those who have been suddenly and unexpectedly thrust into the role of caregiver. This book is clear and concise, and it gives you much-needed guidance and helpful tips to be a great caregiver. I would recommend this book to others.

I wanted to read this book, because I became a sudden caregiver. Although the book was well-written, it was a little over my head in some areas. Also, it did not quite have what I was looking for. I just could not connect with what the author was saying for the most part. I did get a bit of good information so it was not a total waste. It just was not the book for me. Maybe someone else will be able to get more out of the book, but for me it just did not do the trick.

Such a timely book for me personally, as well as for the millions of people that find themselves in this situation as our population ages. The author provides a roadmap of sorts to help caregivers know where to go and how to get there. It is not an easy read, if you are indeed a sudden caregiver, but a message that is needed and welcomed if you find yourself in that position. To underscore the absolute essential nature of her message, Ms. Schueler reminds us of Rosalynn Carter's words, "There are only four kinds of people in the world: those who have been caregivers, those who are currently caregivers, those who will be caregivers, and those who will need caregivers." Ms. Schueler's advice and well=thought out action items for the sudden caregiver touched me where I am.

Thanks to Net Galley and the publisher for allowing me to read and review this pre-published manuscript.

An individualised guide to people put in the position of caregiver, from an author who has experienced such an event. A wonderful book, and a good read for anyone who finds themselves in this position and others who want to help, if needed.
