This just didn’t make an impression on me.

Narration: Would not seek out these narrators again.

Thanks to Dreamscape and NetGalley for my chance to review.

This was such a cute friends to lovers book. The main characters were so likable and so nerdy and quirky. Overall a sweet, quick listen.. Perfect for if you need something light and feel good! 4 stars.. Shoutout to Dreamscape Media and Netgalley for allowing me to read this in return for an honest review.

This was a surprise read for me, as I was not previously familiar with them or their work. I loved the main characters and their passion for science as well as the way mental health issues are presented in a natural and real manner. Overall, a very quick and enjoyable read.

I was enjoying this. I think it was just the time in my life that I was reading it. I stepped away and my galley expired. Will I give this another try. Absolutely. I liked it. It was building into a sweet romance and I want to know how it ends.

this book was equal part cute and awkward and adorable. I loved the intelligence, romance, and writing style. Although there were so many amazing things about this book I think I am simply not intelligent enough to appreciate this book to its full potential. It was so refreshing seeing how inclusive this book was in the way that our main character was neurotypical and provided such a unique and brilliant point of view.

Overall this book was a lot of fun to read and the representation was amazing!

I may not be particularly skilled at or interested in STEM, but geez do I love to see a woman/girl in STEM. So a rom-com with a STEM setting and focus just always ends up with a special place in my heart.

I really liked Evie and loved cheering her on as she overcame different challenges to be able and push herself to compete in a physics competition. Though I’m high-functioning in terms of anxiety, her nervous ticks and anxiety-ridden decisions were something I identified with and it made it easy to connect with her character. I couldn’t help but to cheer her on.

I also really enjoyed the book as a whole. I found myself cheering for Evie and Caleb because I felt like I had to since they’re the two obvious love interests. But I wanted Evie to be happy with Leo. I did! And I would’ve probably been happy with that as an outcome.

"You are thunderstorms and supernovas and four-leaf clovers and jackpots. Normal would be a step down."

I do like when gender expectations are switched, so I loved that Caleb was the one in love with Evie and that his character was very feelings-based, while Evie’s character was more logical. But I didn’t like that Caleb catfished Evie to manipulate her and possibly destroy her relationship because of his own jealousy. It’s toxic and annoying, and I would be horrified about that in real life, but I was able to find it more acceptable through a fictional lens (weird, I know).

Overall, I really loved the book though. It was smart and well-written and I genuinely enjoyed the narrators.

I love YA romance but this book didn't do it for me. The romance was way more one.sided and I was not a fan of Caleb.

I am giving this 4 stars because it was a well written, ADORABLE love story, and while I almost rated it 3 stars because at some times it failed to keep my attention, it deserves the fourth star PURELY for the absolutely WONDERFUL mental health/ ANXIETY REP! I suffer from severe anxiety in many forms, and I have to say... Parks really hit the nail on the head with the rep in this book! It had me in tears because I couod relate so very much to so much of the anxiety descriptions in the book, and I think this is an absolute MUST READ for teens, and all lovers of YA contemporary romance, who suffer from anxiety, or think that they may suffer from anxiety. Much props and thanks to Amy Noelle Parks for truly representing anxiety.

Also, I loved the narration by Nick Mondelli & Elizabeth Cottle ! I found I enjoyed their narration style more & more as the story went on. They tend to draw you in & truly show the characters' personalities!

I would like to sincerely thank Amy Noelle Parks, Dreamscape Media, Amulet Books, and NetGalley for providing me with a free copy of this ARC audiobook in exchange for my honest review

Going in to this book, I can say I didn't know much about it so it wasn't really able to let me down because I wasn't expecting a lot, but it was just kind of meh to me. There wasn't anything I was super wowed by, just a kind of basic friends to lovers romance that was super clear from the beginning with not much to guess.

Caleb and Evie were both ok characters but nothing super memorable besides that math and science played a large part in the story. There was good mental health rep (as far as I could tell) and the way the math and science was incorporated was well down and didn't feel forced, the author clearly knows these concepts or did a lot of excellent research. As explained in the authors note at the end, Parks did alter and simplify some concepts for plot reasons which was fine, didn't have any objections to that.

Wasn't a huge fan of Caleb kind of cat fishing Evie. It was weird and there was really no consequence for him doing it and deceiving Evie. Also the relationship between Leo and Evie wasn't great. There were times when Leo seemed to react badly to Evie's anxiety because his mom dealt with other mental health issues but doesn't excuse him acting how he did. He didn't seem to want to help Evie and made her feel bad about how she reacted to things at points and this was just not really talked about?

I did like the alternating POVs as this is always something I enjoy because it gives a full story to everything. I also listened to the audiobook and the narrators were really great and read with a lot of emotions.

Overall, meh, not a big fan but it wasn't horrible

A fantastic YA love story following the lives of two best friends. It was one of those "I know how this is going to end and I know I am going to love every second of it" books. Did not disappoint!! Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media - Amulet Books for a copy of this book for an honest review.

3.5 for me on this one.

I really enjoyed the focus on a woman in STEM, attention to mental illness, and the stigma that goes with it while also being a quirky teen rom-com about finding love when you don’t expect it.

The characters were also in-depth and multi-dimensional, which always makes fir a better reading experience.

Given all of that, you’d think I would be raving about this, but I wanted something a little more from this. I think it may have been that I wanted a little more backstory on Caleb and Evie sprinkled in throughout - more stories about how their relationship came to be what it is today.

I enjoyed both narrators, who I thought did an excellent job portraying the 2 main characters.

I would like to thank NetGalley, Dreamscape Media, and Amy Noelle Parks for a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

This is a charming YA love story featuring Caleb and Evie. Evie has a social anxiety disorder and has been taking medication and seeing a therapist but is slowly gaining confidence and learning to manage her anxiety. I loved the mental health focus in this book and how Evie has to deal with her mother who just wants to force pills on her and is constantly worrying Evie is going to spiral out of control. The romance aspect was pretty cute as Caleb and Evie are best friends but Caleb has been secretly pining for Evie but giving her space to get comfortable with being in a relationship. He ends up having to watch Evie start a relationship with Leo (his coding friend) and at the same time Caleb and Evie become anonymous online friends that has Evie questioning her feelings for all three boys! The love triangle situation gets a bit complicated but I enjoyed the dual perspective POV from Evie and Caleb and seeing how their feelings for one another evolve. Side note: my FAVORITE scene in the whole book involves Caleb and Evie giving each other reference book challenges in the library, where they have to ask the librarians for embarrassing books - the librarian in me LOVED this so so much! Definitely recommend this one, especially for fans of To all the boys I've loved before or Tweet cute. Thanks to NetGalley for my advanced listening copy of this book.

Caleb, who has made quite a few moves on his friend Evie over the years, can't bear the fact that she has found someone else that she's romantically interested in. He decides to catfish her on an online forum associated with the students in the physics competition. He uses his intimate knowledge of her and her interests to gain favor with her. Now I have no problem with the whole "we're talking to each other online and we don't know each others identity" plot. This has been used time and time again in many films and novels such as You've got Mail, and Tweet Cute by Emma Lord. What I do have a problem with is the fact that Caleb expects her to fall in love with him, sees that she has found happiness outside of their relationship, and ultimately decides to lord over her life under a new identity. Outside of the online interactions, he exhibits truly toxic behavior in the form of his savior complex and the whole "I'm the only one who truly gets Evie" viewpoint. He uses this to invade her new relationship and get what he wants. This is not at all romantic and I am tired of seeing this narrative pushed on young readers. Examining these manipulative behaviors is important, but marketing this as a romance is......not it.

I really liked this one! It was a cute story line with loveable characters. It did wish there was a little more to some of the scenes but overall it was really good. I definitely recommend

I love that the math/science elements of this book are more than just a gimmick. It's not just that it is set at an academy or that Evie is "really into math". It's a vital part of the plot. It forms the lens through which Evie views the world. Also, there are some frank discussions about privilege and prejudice. How much harder it will be for Evie to get taken seriously because she's a girl. How she has to consider things that Caleb never even thinks about. And yet, her own place of privilege based on her private school education and whiteness. And I liked the view of relationships. Sure, we all know from the start that Evie and Caleb will end up together. But that doesn't invalidate their other relationships. They can like different people in different ways.

There were elements I didn't like as well, most of them involving Bex. To be clear, I liked the character. I like the way she supports and challenges the main characters. She presents her own concerns and biases. But she's also largely there to prompt discussions about religion and femininity. The religious discussions are fairly elementary, not what we would expect of advanced students. I do appreciate that Bex is both a woman of science and a religious person, a combination generally not present in books. But her conversations about beauty and femininity bothered me. She won't let Evie wear bland clothes when presenting. She has to look "amazing", like she has some obligation to natural beauty, like she has an obligation to play up her feminine characteristics.

Overall, I feel like the positives outweigh the negatives but I also would want to discuss them with teen readers, to encourage them to read those scenes critically and consider the messages they convey.

I loved this book and have already posted this to my Instagram page! The story is great to begin with but I was worried that the coding and physics and math would overwhelm me and the story but it doesn’t. I basically was afraid I’d feel stupid and wouldn’t understand. But that wasn’t the case. The author is able to add a layer of intellectual thinking that includes you and doesn’t exclude you. Well Done!!!
