This book was actually pretty interesting. At points I had to suspend disbelief though—because at turns it was just too far fetched. Overall, though, the premise was interesting and the characters were a draw, so I’m glad I finished the story.

Not only is this a 5 star book, it would make a 5 star movie!! When three women discover they are all married to the same man, well there are bound to be fireworks of some kind. It's no surprise when the mister is shot, but which missus shot him? As one wife is put on trial, the stories unfold to see the wrinkles in what they all thought were perfect lives.

Due to a sudden, unexpected passing in the family a few years ago and another more recently and my subsequent (mental) health issues stemming from that, I was unable to download this book in time to review it before it was archived as I did not visit this site for several years after the bereavements. This meant I didn't read or venture onto netgalley for years as not only did it remind me of that person as they shared my passion for reading, but I also struggled to maintain interest in anything due to overwhelming depression. I was therefore unable to download this title in time and so I couldn't give a review as it wasn't successfully acquired before it was archived. The second issue that has happened with some of my other books is that I had them downloaded to one particular device and said device is now defunct, so I have no access to those books anymore, sadly.

This means I can't leave an accurate reflection of my feelings towards the book as I am unable to read it now and so I am leaving a message of explanation instead. I am now back to reading and reviewing full time as once considerable time had passed I have found that books have been helping me significantly in terms of my mindset and mental health - this was after having no interest in anything for quite a number of years after the passings. Anything requested and approved will be read and a review written and posted to Amazon (where I am a Hall of Famer & Top Reviewer), Goodreads (where I have several thousand friends and the same amount who follow my reviews) and Waterstones (or Barnes & Noble if the publisher is American based). Thank you for the opportunity and apologies for the inconvenience.

"One wealthy businessman, a trio of unsuspecting wives, and an explosive turn of events. In this scandalous, twist-filled new series from Shelly Ellis, will too many secrets and one devastating bond unite three women--or destroy them?

Noelle. Diamond. Vanessa. Each woman believes she is Cyrus Grey's only wife--until he's nearly shot to death. Now, as he lies in a coma, the deceptions keep coming, unraveling everything they thought they knew . . .

Gorgeous model Noelle's marriage to Cyrus anchored her--though she couldn't understand why he wouldn't have a baby with her. They certainly had the money. But she's learning fast just how Cyrus became so rich--thanks to his fatally attractive business partner . . .

For Diamond, marrying Cyrus saved her from the streets--and being a pimp's punching bag. But her past makes her the police's prime suspect in Cyrus's shooting. She's determined to get to the truth--if she can survive long enough to tell it . . .

Even with her beautiful house, three kids, and elegant lifestyle, Vanessa sensed something was wrong in her marriage. But she never expected this--or that taking a lover for comfort would change the game completely.

With danger closing in, Cyrus's life hanging in the balance, and collateral damage threatening to take them all down, how far will each woman go to be the real Mrs. Grey?"

Hmm... the premise of this novel was definitely intriguing. I was hooked by the drama just in the blurb. As the story unfolds with plot twists and some predictable characters I was less intrigued. By the end, I was seriously wondering is the ebook was missing pages. Only to find out it's a first of series. Even so, what was that ending?! I will admit, I hate cliffhangers. And this wasn't even a hook cliffhanger. Sigh.

The storyline was interesting. The development of the characters in the story was done well. All three Mrs. Greys had different personalities. The title itself caught my attention and I wondered how that was possible and it was interesting to see how all of that played out. I am curious to see what happens in the next part of the series. My only downside to the story is the language.

This book was CRAZY, in the best way possible. A bigamist with three wives finding out about each other? Sign me up! I live for this kind of drama. This was marketed as a thriller but definitely read more as a domestic drama with a little bit of thrills instead. Still loved it, 4 stars.

Listen, I don't mind a messy domestic thriller from time to time but THE THREE MRS GREYS just felt catty and anti-feminist.

Favorite Quotes:

All eyes in the waiting room were focused on them. Vanessa wondered if the nosy family of three huddled across the room in the line of leather chairs was going to break out a bucket of popcorn to watch the show.

Why would I be jealous of a woman who’s made of more plastic than my daughter’s Barbie dolls?

Ripe? … What am I? A damn grapefruit?

When Vanessa had heard he was shot, she’d braced herself for the possibility that her husband would die and had even started eagerly looking forward to it, but here he sat, very much alive. A wave of emotions overwhelmed her, making her eyes flood with tears.

Cy’s life had always been a delicate balancing act. He would sometimes envision himself as one of those high-wire performers rolling across the Big Top on a unicycle.

My Review:

This was a gritty, confounding, and curiously intriguing tale about horrible people engaging in stupid and reprehensible behaviors. While some were getting what they deserved, some were not. The storylines poked and taunted my curiosity while also making me itch and gnash my teeth, yet I couldn’t put my Kindle down as Shelly Ellis can certainly unspool an entertaining, addictive, and uncomfortably chilling tale. But, to leave me dangling with a despicable cliffhanger… what gall! Thankfully I already have book two locked and loaded or I would be stamping my little foot and turning the air blue. I do believe I am invested.

I generally despised 90% of Ms. Ellis's uniquely bent and well-drawn characters - the uncouth, volatile, and self-serving wastrel of wife #1 Vanessa, most of all. Although followed closely in my level of annoyance was the weak and moronic wife #3, named Diamond. Vanessa was a conspicuous and spoiled trophy wife who seemed to be thinking with what was between her legs rather than using the limited gray matter she had between her ears. Although, I wanted to give all three Mrs. Greys a few good smacks with my Kindle to hopefully jar lose the few functioning brain cells between them, and most of those seemed to belong to wife #2, Noelle.

Mr. Grey was obviously a demon and a toad, and I have my fingers crossed that these hideous humans get exactly what they deserve in the newly released sequel.

The Three Mrs. Greys by Shelly Ellis is the dynamic first book to her Three Mrs. Greys series.

Shelly Ellis has the makings of another successful series in this opener. The story is revealed through the alternating viewpoints of the three wives over a series of consecutive days. The characters are dynamic and the plot is compelling. This novel delivers on the premise completely. The Three Mrs. Greys ends well and properly sets up for next book in the series. I was completely captivated and highly recommend this 5 out of 5 star novel to all readers of urban fiction.

My thanks to Kensington Books and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book. However, the opinions expressed in this review are 100% mine and mine alone.

I can easily see this as a lifetime movie. Plenty of drama, sex and surprises, with sometimes soapy dialogue to boot. Three women were attracted to a horrible man, Cyrus, and none of the three are particularly likable but the pacing kept me in it to be end. Easy to read, no complaints here.

Thank you so much for this ARC!

I do not understand why there isn't more buzz about this title! While it was more 'domestic' than 'domestic thriller' - I loved it. Totally sexy and steamy. All three Mrs. Greys were interesting - sometimes there are characters that you just don't like or even care about their side of the story - this was not the case.

Cannot wait for book 2!

Cyrus Grey, a victim of a planned attack, is left in a coma at the hospital. Imagine the surprise that Noelle, Vanessa and Diamond received when they discover they are all married to the same man. Vanessa and Cyrus have been married 11 years with three children. Despite knowing there were cracks in their marriage, she had no idea he is involved much less married to two other women.

Noelle enjoys her quiet life with Cyrus. Having a baby will complete her picture-perfect marriage but she is not sure why Cyrus has no interest in having children. Young and street wise, Diamond, is Cyrus third wife. He was at her place when he was gunned down and she feels her past is coming back to haunt her. THE THREE MRS. GREYS meet to try and determine who is responsible for Cyrus’ accident and how they will handle the situation of unknowingly being thrust into a sister-wives situation. As law enforcement investigates the crime, each wife must try her best to prove her innocence.

Shelly Ellis creates a turbulent situation for Cyrus and his three wives. Each wife had totally different personalities and lifestyles. The book engages the reader from the beginning with the shocking revelation of his polygamist lifestyle. I can’t wait until Cyrus come out of the coma and answer to this mess he has created. I will be picking up the sequel to find out.

Didn't like this one. The characters were very unlikable to me, and I just didn't like the storyline even though the premise sounded very interesting.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Oh how I do love me some domestic drama and this book is full of it! A fun read! Can’t wait until book 2. I thank Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Unfortunately this book was a big miss for me. I felt like I was reading the script for a bad nighttime soap opera. I didn't like any of the characters and it was just so easy to figure out.

This was the messy drama i needed. I can't wait to continue this series. None of the wives knew their husband and Cyrus was a lying dirty rotten cheater. I sort of predicted it but it was still fun

Thanks Netgalley for an early copy.
I thought I would like this so much more but all the characters are so unlikable I just didn't care about any of them.

I did not get the opportunity to read this ARC before it was archived. I’ve got The Three Mrs Greys on my summer read list. My rating is based on my wanting to read the book but I hadn’t been able to make it a priority.
