The content of the book was ok. I like the information about moms around the world and would have liked to see more of that. The stereotypes of moms took up a lot of the book and was not interesting or relatable to me. But, I love the illustrations in this book! They're bright and cheerful and I liked that many different looking moms were represented.

The illustrations in this book are lovely and captivating. I loved the divisibility of the moms shown, not only in personality, but in terms of ability and race. This would make a great gift for a new mom, and especially fun to display as a coffee table book. I loved reading through it.

I got this on Netgalley in exchange for an honest review!

I really enjoyed this guide, and I really feel like it captures what it means to be a mom in a good way! I love the diversity of characters, and how cute the art style is. It is such a mom-positive book and that is so nice to see! Could definitely see myself having this on my shelves!

This is like a mom's personality or enneagram book. Not just because of how it's written, but because of the mom-reaction in me to reading it. My natural reaction is...."You can't box me in. I'm more than one of these!"
The way it's written is categorized acts like we must fit into the mold of being ONE of these moms and that we somehow won't bleed over into more than one. For example, I am a homebody mom, but also a boss mom (who works from home) and happens to be a cheerleader mom because all of my 4 kids are in sports. This is literally the nature of moms. We wear a million different hats. So this book, in a lot of ways, speaks directly to the idea that we are boxed in to one hat that we wear. I don't love that idea.
Also I'm confused by who the audience is. It sort of seems like a children's book asking the kids to "spot a mom", but in the marketing material, it said it was perfect for a Mother's Day gift....? I don't know, I just didn't connect with it. I didn't think it sounded like it was written for kids or would be interesting for kids if it is supposed to be a children's book.
But the artwork is pretty, and I love how diverse they show the moms and children! Well done to the illustrator for sure!

Here's a listing of all possible types of moms you could think of, minus a few. The book starts off interestingly but soon becomes repetitive. After a point, you just start looking at the heading to see if you connect with the mom type being described on that page.

+: There's some nice information about moms from around the world.
+: The generic segments such as special mom skills and the thank you moms page are cute.
+: The illustrations are very well-drawn and inclusive.

-: I thought the book would include step moms, two moms, single moms, etc. But the book was more focussed on the social types such as trendy moms, chatty moms, artsy moms, etc.
-: Some of the information is really silly. A homebody mom sits under a blanket with a remote in her hands. Really? No homebody mom reads a book? Sorry, but I'm one!
-: The book forgets to mention that many of the mom types overlap. An outdoorsy mom can simultaneously be a rule-book mom and a chatty mom. The types are exclusive of each other.

This book is a must for everyone specially for girls (yes, I can be biased as I feel girls will enjoy this book more! Yes, boys you will enjoy this book too.).

I can totally relate with the different kinds of mums as I can see the same in real. Outdoorsy, the coach, the cheerleader, the homebody, the chatty, the trendy, the practical one, the online lover, the boss, the zen one, the sporty one, and lots more. Now we get the idea what the book's basically about.

The book also tells how moms are celebrated in different countries. However, I feel it's too less and more should have been mentioned.

The illustrations worked really well!

Thank you authors and the publisher for the advance reading copy.

Cute enough book about the different types of mothers that are out in the world.

Gives facts about mothers around the world, and then goes into the different types of mothers, such as mothers that fix things, and mothers that are organized. There are spots mothers, and coach mothers.

Cute, but a bit boring after a while, unless you are looking for your own mother. Didn't find her. :0 There was no disorganized, lover of books, hater of housework, but loving mother in there.

Thanks to Netgalley for making this book available for an honest review.
