Ah, I definitely liked the previous book more! The writing is still fun, the sense of adventure is there, and Marilla is still awful! I think it is still enjoyable though.

This is the second book in the series and continues the adventures of Dylan McFinn and his family. It is a great story of myth and folklore, and continues the environmental element that was also present in the first one. Dylan and his brother are growing up and growing apart in this book, showing the exaggerated results of sibling rivalry and how sometimes life does not treat us all equally, yet the binds of family are those that should always come first. It is a very fun adventure that would be highly recommended for Middle School readers, and particularly those who might be more reluctant to read, as the non-stop action will ensure they keep reading! Not a Middle Schooler? Doesn't matter - you will enjoy it just as much!

This book was received as an ARC from BooksGoSocial in exchange for an honest review. Opinions and thoughts expressed in this review are completely my own.

I love books where they put their families first and will stop at nothing to make sure that everyone is safe. This time it is Dylan and Axneus on a voyage to find his parents and reunite for good. This book clearly demonstrates an act of determination in fighting for what is right no matter the cost. No matter what nymphs come along with warnings trying to tear your family apart and reminding you of what you lost. This book was full of adventure and I fell in love with the writing style of Liam Jenkins capturing your mind and gluing your eyes to the page and never wanting to put the book down. I know this is a series and I can't wait to read the other two and finally put all of the pieces together.

We will consider adding this title to our JFiction collection at our library. That is why we give this book 5 stars.
