Due to a sudden, unexpected passing in the family a few years ago and another more recently and my subsequent (mental) health issues stemming from that, I was unable to download this book in time to review it before it was archived as I did not visit this site for several years after the bereavements. This meant I didn't read or venture onto netgalley for years as not only did it remind me of that person as they shared my passion for reading, but I also struggled to maintain interest in anything due to overwhelming depression. I was therefore unable to download this title in time and so I couldn't give a review as it wasn't successfully acquired before it was archived. The second issue that has happened with some of my other books is that I had them downloaded to one particular device and said device is now defunct, so I have no access to those books anymore, sadly.

This means I can't leave an accurate reflection of my feelings towards the book as I am unable to read it now and so I am leaving a message of explanation instead. I am now back to reading and reviewing full time as once considerable time had passed I have found that books have been helping me significantly in terms of my mindset and mental health - this was after having no interest in anything for quite a number of years after the passings. Anything requested and approved will be read and a review written and posted to Amazon (where I am a Hall of Famer & Top Reviewer), Goodreads (where I have several thousand friends and the same amount who follow my reviews) and Waterstones (or Barnes & Noble if the publisher is American based). Thank you for the opportunity and apologies for the inconvenience.

I don't really understand the point of this book and the way it is designed. It is basically just a book with page after page of This or That questions with no semblance of organisation. I feel like it could've at least been organised into catagories or some fun way to use it. I feel like you could generate the same kind of list on the Internet so I'm unsure who this book would appeal to.

I thought that the book was going to give a little more guidance - such as, if you're feeling like this, why not answer this batch of questions - rather than just being a plain list.

This was enjoyed by my family, including children aged 10 to 16. With so many questions, this would improve mealtimes for a few years!

Made for a fun q&a! I challenged myself to a lot of questions I might not think of usually. It was entertaining and enjoyable to take the time to think about scenarios I wouldn’t think of regularly.

Straight to the point, just a mega list of things to choose from - choose out of the pairings. Can be fun on a game night or for class use.

Apologies, unfortunately I cannot seem to get 9n with this particular reading format.
I will add to my personal to buy list

I really like this book. I have just started journaling and these questions are great prompts, can't wait to use them.

"Alright, so these questions aren't the big questions, but knowing yourself better is no small task. So much of what goes on in your brain happens in snap judgements and feelings. When you sit with the answers to quick questions and ruminate on what they mean, a deeper understanding of yourself can result.

With over 3,000 thoughtful prompts to help you journal through a quest for self-discovery, you can start to definitively know who you are by examining your inclinations in minute detail."

The book itself was alright, but I found the above quote from the description to be incredibly misleading. I thought that the questions would be a mix of silly and at least semi-serious, or silly and possibly insightful in aggregate, but this was 3,0001 questions of "strawberry or blueberry" type questions. Could be fun to have on your coffee table to flip through but I doubt this would result in even 10 minutes of fun whether you're a child or an adult.

The book follows through with what it says it does-- 3,001 questions of this or that, and I found it particularly amusing how they ended the book with "would you rather be able to forge signatures or forge checks." That being said, I can see good use of the book on plane rides, doing just a few a day, to completing the book as part of a year-long venture. The variety of questions in the book was incredibly wide as well.

3,001 This or That Questions is a journal for people who ask the big questions about themselves, like: Would you rather speak like a duck or look like a worm?

I absolutely love books like this, it is perfect for people with anxiety that just need a moment to hide from the world and close off everything that is going on. This is definitely a book you need as a hard copy, not as an E-book. Will definitely be looking to get a hard copy.

This is a fun and simple book. Open to any page and ask any question and you’ll get some conversations going. The questions even engaged my teen and tween boys, which is not an easy feat!

I recommend this book for everyone who is in a family or who leads a group of people. Some questions are thought-provoking (Be famous now but forgotten after you die -or- be unknown now and famous after you die?) while others are funny (Have a face-shaped nose -or- a nose-shaped face?) With over 3,000 questions, you’ll have plenty of options!

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher through NetGalley. I was not required to give a positive review. The thoughts and opinions expressed here are entirely my own.

This book is exactly as advertised. Front to back are 3001 questions that ask if you'd rather do THIS or THAT. Some of the questions are just silly "Be a snowflake or a raindrop?"

Some made no sense whatsoever "Would you rather be a pig or a boar?" What? Why? Is there really a difference worth picking?

"Give up social media or TV?" during a girls weekend with two generations proved that there were generational questions. Mom's gave up social media without a moment's hesitation while the teenagers were more than willing to give up TV. And others that didn't work generationally "Always have great dial-up or terrible wi-fi?"

Others actually led to some in depth discussions to justify your response "Would you rather be a pirate or ninja?" (Pirate, of course! Rum, swearing, a pet parrot, sailing around the world, and beach vacations)

But the good thing with 3001 questions is that there's plenty to choose from. Fun book to have and break out in diverse groups!

Thank you to #NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group – Chartwell Books for allowing me to review an advanced copy of #3001ThisorThatQuestions. Publication Date is February 16, 2021.

Fun book for exactly what it is. Enjoyed the conversations it sparked! Could go through it fast or slow, by yourself or with others! Loved the creativity in some of the questions.

I don't see the point of these 3001 questions... is it a quiz? do you get a score or something? they are really pointless

I loved this book. It appeals to people of all ages - kids included. It is a great conversation starter. And with 3000+ questions, it will keep the conversations going for quite a while!

There are so many great questions in the book. It reminds me of the What If?... books I used to love way back when in high school. My friends and I loved getting to know each other with thought provoking questions. This book isnt quite as thought provoking, but you can definitely learn a lot about others, and yourself l, bit which scenarios they choose.

This book poses a number of either or questions with the intent of encouraging discussion with others or one’s self. Many of the questions are lighthearted while others raise interesting questions as, for example, would you rather rule a superpower or a small country/ be president or a small town mayor. Others ask would you rather be a freshwater fish or a saltwater fish/have a noisy cat or a quiet dog/speak in a British accent or an Australian accent and so on. If these sorts of questions intrigue you, here you will find over 3000 of them.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this title. All opinions are my own.
