The beginning set of directions is concise and gives great explanations with visual guides for basic crochet skills. The projects in here definitely are creative--I think the smaller, toy projects like the foldable burger and hot dog or the rollaway kitchen mat would make great projects for kids learning to crochet. I am planning to try out the sliceable watermelon pattern as I think the piece would make a great throw pillow for summer. My mom will be trying out some of the hat patterns soon since she is learning to crochet right now! Overall, awesome book of fun beginner projects.

This is a great book for beginner crocheters. There is something in here for everyone in the family. From scarves and hats to toys, and mobiles. Stephanie Pokorny presents her crochet projects in a whimsical and delightful manner that's sure to please. She explains each material that's used, and gives a step-by-step detailed instruction complete with color pictures for visuals. I highly recommend this book for beginners.

Fun projects to make that would be perfect gifts. The directions are very clear and Stephanie starts with all the basic stitches needed. The book is written step by step and each project has a full color illustration.
I selected this book to see if the directions were easily adaptable to a left handed crafter. They were and the projects turned out perfect.
Great book whether for a person new at this hobby or a person who has mastered the skill.

Thank you NetGalley for the electronic advanced edition of this title in exchange for my honest opinion.

I don't think it's the book. I think it's me. At this stage of my crochet ability I need to watch someone doing the project and I need to follow along. This isn't a beginner book but more intermediate.

A great book for the crochet enthusiast wanting to venture into playful and fun projects. While I wasn’t a fan of the wearable accessories (scarves, cowls, wraps), I loved the crochet burger, hotdog, and watermelon! #NetGalley

Nice selection of different kinds of projects. Excellent “how to” section at the beginning of the book. Bright colours and good pictures make this book lovely to look at. The patterns are more for an intermediate skill level I’d suggest, but if you are a beginner, take it slow and follow the instructions and you’ll be fine. I recommend this book. Thank you #netgalley

Creative Crochet Projects has a nice variety of items including accessories and play time projects. Although the book gives a brief introduction to yarn, crochet stitches, and pattern reading, I would not consider these projects to be for a true hot off the hook beginner. Labeling the projects with skill level required would be useful. I did enjoy the playfulminded projects and the colorful photography. The play food items were especially cute. I was given this book in exchange for a review from NetGalley. All opinions are mine.

I truly love this book. It's perfect for beginners like myself! I didn't have a chance to try the projects for myself because of exams but now that those are over, I definitely would be giving them a try

I enjoyed this fun book of projects to make for beginner crocheters. The projects are manageable using bright colours. The new techniques the reader learns will be put to good use with the projects they try. Give crochet a try with this easy to read sampler of ideas! It's fun and relaxing.

My thanks to Netgalley and the author for a complimentary copy of this book It is a perfect volume for a beginning or new needlework enthusiast. Right from the Intro which begins with instructions on how to read a crochet pattern, we are shown in photos what the basic stitches look like and how to execute them. The first patterns are hats and scarves and a "to die for" asymmetric owl wrap. I love it. The next chapter covers toys. The mobile with bees and their hive is adorable. I whole-heartedly recommend this book for those looking for new and different ideas.

Nice book with some very easy crochet projects. It is nice for beginners. The pictures were beautiful and the instructions were excellent. I would keep this book in my crochet library and refer to it often. Am always on the lookout for new and interesting ideas. This book covered both of those things. You never can have enough crochet books! If you are looking for something different, I would give this book a try. Lovely photos and nice ideas. I will look for books by this author in the future. It is nice to find a book that broadens your crochet skills.

Very cute, colorful designs! The 12 patterns progress in difficulty rather steeply, so the first few will work for beginners but the later ones require some additional knowledge. With a little determination, though, the creative crocheter should be able to make something unique and fun.

Thanks to the publishers and NetGalley for the opportunity to review a digital ARC in exchange for an unbiased review.

As a crafter - especially a crocheter - I'm always keen to try out new patterns, and some of the patterns in this book are ones in my to-make list! I especially loved the Squiggles McGee hat, Owl Wrap, Foldable Hamburger scarf and the Kitchen Playmat.

The book is laid out beautifully, with clear images and easy to follow guides for the basic stitches. However, some knowledge of crochet beyond the basics is useful for this book, when one is required to decrease or work into the front/back posts.

4☆ A Fun and Quirky Craft Book, filled with one-of-a-kind Crochet Projects.

Creative Crochet Projects is a fun craft book filled with 12 one-of-a-kind Crochet Projects for all ages and skill levels.

I have always wanted to learn how to crochet but it always seems so daunting. I'm a knitter so I can read patterns but of course it's very very different.

What I love most about this book is the vibrant colours and patterns, they really draw you in.
All of the patterns are fun, quirky and there's something for everyone.
Toys, clothes, hats, scarfs, each with detailed step by step patterns and guides to making up the finished product.

Pokorny has thought of everything, from selecting different yarns, Crochet hook sizes, beginners guide to Crochet stitches, the tools you need to get you started and the abbreviations to all those daunting pattern stitches!
This book would make a lovely present for someone, or maybe like me just wanting to learn a new skill, or maybe you just want to broaden your collection with some fun new patterns, either way the choice is yours! You won't be disappointed!

Creative Crochet Projects is a great book full of fun crochet patterns for beginners. There were a lot of great projects that I could very easily see myself tackling. However, there were a few that I didn’t really think needed to be included, like the stackable burger and hotdog projects, but hey, maybe you’re into that kind of thing!

The patterns were easy to read and understand, though the digital versions did translate a little wonky because they would go onto multiple pages. I’m sure that the print version will fix this issue!

All in all, if you’re interested in learning crochet while tackling some fun beginners projects, this one might be perfect for you!

There's no need to hold the pickle OR the lettuce when you make an awesome crocheted hamburger that unfolds into the funkiest scarf ever!

The author includes a dozen off-the-wall designs for kicky, colorful scarves, hats, decorations and toys for kids and playful adults.

And, did I mention there are owl ponchos?

Oh, yeah - there are owl ponchos!

My only complaint is that I wish there had been a few more projects.

*Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a chance to peruse this fun book.

Crochet patterns are easy to understand, and information for beginners about yarn types is also included. There's a good variety of projects from decorative to wearable. In the Internet age pattern books have become less relevant, but you can't find most of these patterns online for free.

As an avid crochet-er I was so excited to find this book. I started crocheting about a year ago and just made scarves...so many scarves, but now that I've built up my skill set I'm always on the look out for new and interesting patterns. This book definitely provides that! I will for sure try out some of these patterns (especially the Bubble Hue Shift Hat). What's nice about this book is that there are detailed instructions and tutorials. Very well put together and so colorful!

I was provided this book to read in exchange for an honest opinion. I'd like to thank NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC.
