Heal Your Ancestors to Heal Your Life by Shelley A. Kaehr is a powerful and thought-provoking guide for anyone interested in exploring ancestral healing. Kaehr takes a compassionate approach to the concept of healing generational wounds, blending spirituality with practical exercises and tools. I found the book to be insightful, as it provides a deep look into how our ancestors’ unresolved issues can impact our present-day lives, and how we can release these patterns to create a more empowered future.

The book is full of thoughtful reflections and step-by-step instructions on how to connect with your ancestors and heal emotional and spiritual blockages. I particularly appreciated the balance between personal stories and actionable steps, which made the content feel relatable and accessible. Kaehr also introduces different modalities like meditation and energy healing to guide readers on their journey, giving them a variety of ways to approach their healing process.

What I enjoyed most about this book was how Kaehr emphasizes the importance of self-compassion and understanding as we uncover and release old patterns. While the idea of ancestor healing might feel daunting at first, Kaehr’s gentle approach helps readers feel supported through every step of the process. It’s an empowering read, full of tools for anyone ready to heal from the past and create a more balanced, peaceful life.

This book provides a good overview of past-life regression and genealogical-regression. Tools are provided for overcoming ancestral "baggage" and helping yourself and your ancestors to heal.

As someone who is interested in genealogy and ancestry work this book was fantastic! I really enjoyed that it wasn’t the typical book about ancestry work. If any of this is interesting to you you need this book!

Thank you to the Publisher and Netgalley for the advanced e-reader copy. All opinions expressed are my own.

This book was a very interesting read: I've felt drawn to the topic of ancestry for a long time and the experience of reading this book only made it grow. It's very insightful and raises a lot of reflection on the reader's personal beliefs and our ancestors as well as past lives. It made me think back to things that happened to me and what could've been traumatic and how did that affect me, as well as things that have bothered me for my whole life, or at least for a long time, that I never gave any second thought nor considered the possibility of that being a problem from the past.

The guide Kaehr gives in this work also feels extremely thoughtful: I don't feel many ideas being forced upon and though it tackles the topic of spirituality, it doesn't seem to be restrictive for a religion or another, which I not only appreciate, but find that it makes the book accessible to a wider public, and it deserves kudos for that. The writing style is also gentle, not only in that aspect, but in others too, no ideas, suggestions or anything being forced upon the reader as if it's a universal truth. I guarantee you that this is a book worth reading!

Fantastic book anyone delving into self help, regression, ancestor veneration, and healing. I personally feel ancestor healing and genealogy regression to be more important than past life work, as someone who has done both. I recommend this to all of my peers and students because the exercises are concise and well laid out, the points made about each line and working with it are fantastic, and its a well written book. The author obviously knows what she is talking about.

This is a great book for anyone interested in ancestor healing/ancestor veneration. It is split into several parts, namely case studies and exercises. The case studies were fascinating to read and I really enjoyed that part; it helps build a basis for what ancestor healing looks like and shows people in relatable, varied situations and how these sessions helped heal them. I have yet to complete all the exercises because it truly is something that takes time and needs to be done in a comfortable, safe space, but the few I have completed so far have been so helpful. It's really easy to digest and is incredibly inclusive (featuring exercises to heal adoptive family and birth family) and I believe it can be used by anyone of any religious or spiritual background. I can see this book helping my spiritual practice for the rest of my lifetime.
