A great primer on how to care for houseplants. This covers all the basics, with some additional advanced tips as well. I loved the artwork throughout, as well as the humor the author injects!

Thank you to Netgalley and Tiller Press for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Ok, so a few weeks before I received this book the one and only plant I have been able to keep alive got knocked over and destroyed.  It was an adorable Jade plant and I'd had it for 5 years.  Every other plant I purchased for my home, I somehow ended up killing it, and I really didn't understand why.  Well let me tell you, this is the book for me.

This book provided an approachable way to understand plant care.  It gives examples of hard to kill plants, where they should go in your house and how to care for them.  It also goes one step further and discusses how the different environment in your house can support different plants.  This book makes me feel like I might actually be able to keep alive the next plant I buy.

Pros: As someone who is obsessed with plants (both indoors and outdoors), I love that houseplants are now popular, especially as we have been spending so much time at home during the pandemic. It's easy to compulsively buy plants . . . but then keeping them alive isn't always so easy. The most important thing I learned in this book is that according to NASA, I need more houseplants. I appreciate the balance of humor and practical advice in this book

Cons: After reading this book, I've added more plants to my wishlist! Also, I didn't appreciate the shade toward African violets as they were my first house plant! (I would have loved to see the illustrations in color. I'm not sure if they will be in the print version, but I hope so!)

Thank you to NetGalley and Tiller Press for the opportunity to read this book!
