This was short and sweet. I love that the creators of Rebel Girls published a collection of stories to highlight powerful women to commemorate Kamal Harris. Would highly recommend to all age groups.

This was fun! I liked this a lot! I thought the illustrations were really nice, I liked the different stories we got from the different Rebel Girls. I think my favorites overall were Kamala and Cleopatra! Its a nice quick read, and informative but not too informative that it feels like a bore or a drag! They give you the important bits, and tell what you they stood for!

I love the idea of this book, it is brightly colored, not too long, and I love the action items at the back (the quiz and how to get started in activism). The downsides to it were the writing style. It was a weird combination of overly simplistic, short sentences with words and concepts that this age range wouldn't understand. My 10-year-old daughter asked me what I was reading and when I showed her, she said she wouldn't read it. While I doubt that is true, for some reason it didn't initially appeal to her. Also, while there was a large variety of women and occupations represented (from gymnasts to pharaohs to politicians) the politicians and activism were all very democratic and "left" leaning. I would love to have seen a more balanced representation.

This book is beautiful in so many ways! The stories are the perfect length to keep my daughter engaged and the illustrations are captivating. The concise one page format makes the stories easily digestible and perfect for a little reading session or bed time story. I loved being able to find a book with real stories of amazing women to share with my daughters. The target of this book is middle grade, but my daughters who are younger than that, have liked these stories. I also very much enjoyed learning about some women I didn’t know about or just enhancing my knowledge of women I already knew of. There’s something here for everyone, so I think this book would be good for any reader.

This particular book covers 25 different women, from different backgrounds, past and present that impacted the world in some positive way. Each woman has a one page narrative with an illustrated portrait. There’s a place at the end for you to write your own story and draw your own illustration, which I thought was a fun and nice touch. There’s also a leadership quiz and resources linked at the end.

Women covered in this book are Aly Raisman, Angela Merkel, Ann Richards, Cleopatra, Elizabeth I, Eufrosina Cruz, Giusi Nicolini, Harriet Tubman, Jacinda Ardern, Kamala Harris, Lady Gaga, Leymah Gbowee, Malala Yousafzai, Mary Barra, Melinda Gates, Michelle Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Pat Summitt, Rigoberta Menchu Tum, Ruth Bader Ginsberg, Sonia Sotomayor, Stacy Abrams, Tammy Duckworth, Wilma Mankiller + Xiye Bastida.

In a time when gender norms are being broken and glass ceilings are being shattered, Rebel Girls has written Rebel Girls Lead. This book tells the story of 25 different women from all walks of life, and how each opened new doors for women. Stories about athletes (Aly Raisman, US Gymnast and Pat Summit, Basketball Coach, Tennessee), activists (Malala Yousafzai and Harriet Tubman), politicians (German Chancellor Angela Merkel and current US Vice President-elect Kamala Harris) and entertainers (Oprah Winfrey and Lady Gaga.)

The target group is middle grade students, but anyone can learn from it. I loved this book, and I would recommend it to Rebel Girls of all ages. I look foward to reading more from this organization.

This was a great collection of real-life stories about women leaders. I really liked it!

These 25 tales were interesting, especially since there were a lot of stories about women and girls I hadn't heard about. I feel ashamed to have not heard about some of them. I like that it doesn't delve too deep into their lives, just the key points, which leads you to wanting to learn more about them. The illustrations in this book are so beautiful.

First of all, thank you to Netgalley, Rebel Girls, and Scholastic for this Advanced Reader's Copy.

Another user (sorry, I didn't see the username or review again), asked "What do Lady Gaga, Harriet Tubman, and Cleopatra all have in common? Well, they're rebels."

If you haven't read any of the Rebel Girl anthologies, then this is a good one to start with because it's shorter than the others but gives you a good sampling of what the anthologies sound, look, and feel like.

Each page tells the story of a woman rebel or, in other words, a woman who defied societal norms and overcame challenges to break the glass ceiling. Although some of the stories are pulled from the other anthologies, there are 11 brand new, highly relevant stories. For example, Lady Gaga's entry ends with a description about how she put together a worldwide virtual concert during the global pandemic.

I applaud and love rhe company's message, which I'd make sure to read to any child before even starting the rest of the book. I also like how a lot of the information is generalized, though focused on the most influential and powerful events, in the rebel woman's life. This definitely prompts curious kids to research that woman further.

My favorite part, though, were the illustrations (all the illustrators were women and diverse -- women from various countries) and the quotes selected to accompany each illustration. Each one is especially curated for each rebel and captures each one to her essence and core belief.

I highly recommend this book for ages 3-13 (starting as a read aloud for the young ones).

Rebel Girls Lead is a collection of one-page stories about various women and girls who have led in their areas of specialty and what they have accomplished. These stories cross the spectrum for country, ethnicity, and subject, with a larger focus on American women. Each story is a great introduction to a powerful woman and perfect for young children to find a role model. At the end of the book, there is a page where they can write their own story and draw their picture, a quiz to find out what kind of leader they are, and activities to practice their own leadership. Each drawing of the women featured in this book is created by a different woman, allowing a number of artistic women to show off their skills. I highly recommend this book for any elementary school student!

This is another great book in the Rebel Girls series and a great way to celebrate Kamala Harris being elected Vice President of USA. It is a great collection of short stories about inspiring women who have done amazing things from current day female leaders to historical figures. My daughter was so excited when I told her there was a new Rebel Girls book, and so we read this together. We will definitely be buying a physical copy for our collection. The illustrations are lovely as always.

Wow, what an inspirational book that celebrates strong, powerful women! I absolutely love the layout of this one - text on the side and a picture of the woman with a quote on the other side. I'll be honest, I haven't heard of most that are featured, but that didn't take away from their story and achievements at all. This book would be great for anyone really, but especially younger/teenage girls maybe.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for an ARC of Rebel Girls Lead: 25 Tales of Powerful Women in exchange for an honest review. I am not a stranger to the Rebel Girls books. Since I am raising 2 young women, I am teaching them to be leaders and stand up for others so we have had these books in our house. This book is a collection of their most loved leaders from their first three volumes of Goodnight Stories for Rebel Girls. People discussed in this book are Michelle Obama, Kamala Harris, Lady Gaga, Aly Raisman, Cleopatra, and Harriet Tubman among others. This is another wonderful book showing girls what leaders do and empowering girls to fight for what is right and that they can do anything they want as long as they put their minds to it and become a rebel :)

A lovely short collection of female leaders in multiple disciplines, showing how girls can lead in many different ways. It shows us a leader is not just one type of person or in one role. The illustrations are also beautiful.

Another wonderful book in the Rebel Girls series. This one is as inspirational and creative as previous books. It's wonderful to focus on girls in leadership roles.

Thanks to Rebel Girls for the DRC!
This book brings inspiring examples of women leaders in politics, business, sports, activism, and more. They all come from different places, which makes this read even more relatable. I think it's an important read for young girls, who wonder if they will ever be able to help people and make a difference in the world somehow. I strongly recommend all books by Rebel Girls. Love them all.

I love this idea of a book of leaders that other girls can look up to. It contains a very diverse group of women, and I really liked learning about each.

The text was a bit dry and not that exciting for what the content is. I think it could have sounded more exciting and not so robotic. There were also a few leaders that had the space on the page to give more detail about their lives, but their story was cut a little short.

It's still a very valuable and empowering collection that I'm happy to see being published!

To show them they can do it too even when the world tell them they can't. It's a read to enjoy and to be educated.

This is the book I wish I had owned when I was younger. As I was growing up and learning about feminism and the strong women that pioneered women forward, it was a book like this that would have been my constant companion. The books short but succinct stories about female leaders from around the world is the perfect guide for any young feminist (and older feminists too). The stories document the lives of some remarkable women, those who are well know and those who are less so, but regardless each story amplifies the power women hold . The illustrations accompany each story perfectly, and whilst the stories are only short the combination of illustration and story together gives you all you need. One of my only qualms about the book is that I wish there had been more focus on women leaders in STEM, and also female writers throughout history. As someone who studies literature I would love to learn more about the women who pioneered literature. Overall however this is a beautifully written book that is the essential guide for any burgeoning or seasoned feminist out there.
