This is an inspiring book. I would be proud to own this and read it to my daughter. The illustrations are just beautiful too. I also thoroughly enjoyed the questions at the end and the encouragement to show what sort of leader you would be. Just what the world needs more of.

I am a huge fan of the Rebel Girls series of books. My 6 year old has the first volume and has been captivated by some of the stories. It's great to see more books coming from Rebel Girls and Rebel Girls Lead does not disappoint. I love that I can curl up with my daughters (6 and 5) and read them a short story from this each evening and I, as their mum, am learning at the same time. This book includes Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Michelle Obama, Kamala Harris, Jacinta Ardern and more. It feels current and is packed full of both new stories and those collected from the other volumes. As with the other books, there are bold, colourful illustrations bringing the stories to life. Wonderful!

"If you have a problem, you've got to solve it because that problem is going to get bigger in six months."
-Mary Barra

Combining well-known public figures and other heroines that are less famous, this collection of stories about brave strong women recognizes the efforts they put into their battles and how their resilience and persistence helped them to get where they are. It's important that little girls know their value and get inspired by other women who are not afraid to make a change in the world.

This book was what I needed !!!!
I try to read every Rebel Girls book there is, one being the Turkish version, 100 Girls from Turkey, and every time I cry out of pride. This one was no different.
Usually, in these books, there are some women that have lived before me, so maybe I don't feel the way my mother would feel, reading about these women in her youth, but in this one there are women such as Vice President Kamala Harris, Lady Gaga, Oprah... My real-life heroes.
I loved this book a lot, and waiting for more Rebel Girls books!

When you are a girl, the word "weak" somehow glued to your image. But look at these women! Even some that I don't know suddenly got my admiration.

"People will think you weak,", "Your life worth nothing", are some phrases we usually hear spoken to these women. But what did they do when bullied? They struggled more and reached out more.

When we were young, we were often asked what would we do when grown up? Of course these amazing people inspired us, and their jobs are usually what we would do for life. But remember, only those who fight more got more. While complaining is not a sin, mostly, nevertheless these women struggled more than grumbling. This is how they arrived to a place where you can see them shining bright.

I was a bit dumbfounded while reading this. It starts off well with Aly Raisman, Cleopatra, and Queen Elizabeth. Harriet Tubman and Leymah Gbowee show up a bit later with inspiring tales. But the vast majority of this book are liberal politicians and lawyers. I don't think there was even a thought about trying to hide the authors bias.

And I particularly "liked" how they mentioned that the Georgia gubernatorial race was lost because "her opponent made sure that lot of people weren't allowed to vote", but there is no mention of the hundreds of thousands of fraudulent votes for Biden/Harris in 5 states.

Fantastic introduction to 25 female leaders and similar to "She Represents" by Caitlin Donohue, but for a younger audience. Each "rebel girl" is introduced in a single page that gives an overview of the woman's accomplishments, accompanied by an amazing illustration. The information on each person is enough to catch the reader's interest and hopefully inspire them to look deeper into each leader's life and accomplishments. While the book does include a few women from other countries, the majority are American. It would be nice to see a follow-up book that introduces us to female leaders from around the world.

Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC.

An inspiring read geared toward girls, but even boys would benefit from the stories presented here. Each Rebel Girl is given a two-page spread. On one side is a detailed background with their birth date. Opposite is an accompanying illustration and quote. The artists are also extraordinary females from all over the world.

I was struck by how many of their careers or causes were sparked by an event that happened in their middle grade years.

*Sonia Sotomayor loved to watch Perry Mason TV shows growing up. It planted the idea to become a lawyer. Despite obstacles thrown in her path she achieved her goal and eventually became a Supreme Court Justice.

*Pat Summitt played hard as a child, always shooting baskets in the hayloft of her family’s dairy farm. Her skills led to becoming a head coach at age 21.

“Michelle Obama’s mother told her “If it can be done, you can do it.” She followed that advice and today she is known as First Lady, a lawyer, and author.

*Kamala Harris ventured out on the streets of Oakland, California in her youth and decided she wanted to help others in times of trouble. Our new vice president has done exactly that in her career.

Each of the 25 stories prove that believing in yourself goes a long way toward achieving life’s goals. Although the stories are short, they will certainly motivate readers to research more. What brings the book full circle are exercises in the back pages. There is a set of questions that ask WHAT KIND OF LEADER ARE YOU? A LEADERSHIP TRAINING section follows to steer you in the right path.

Overall, a terrific addition to the Rebel Girls series.

I love how diverse the subjects of this book are, and how there's a mixture of high-profile women and wrold leaders (Michelle Obama; Malala Yousafzai; Angela Merkel) alongside less well-known people, so there's something to learn for everyone picking it up! It's so nice to have a direct quote included from each of the women, as well as a short biography and gorgeous and varied illustrations!

There are definitely some women I don't necessarily think needed to be there (Queen Elizabeth I?) and I did feel like famous husbands sometimes overshadowed the women's own stories, but overall I really loved it!

I have yet to read a Rebel Girls book I haven't loved and wished was in my childhood bookshelves or classroom libraries. These books are treasures-excellent introductions to women and girls who are changing the world, or who have impacted our world already. Rebel Girls Lead boasts a diverse list of women from many different backgrounds and with many different talents. The illustrations are incredible, and the vignettes about each woman both introduces and affirms the desire to learn more. This will be a great gift for some of the rebel girls I know!

A vibrant and eye-catching style of book. This book lays out inspirational stories of iconic women. It's a really good mix of stories pand girls can find someone to relate to whatever their ambitions.
It is important for our children to read about women who have made a difference.

I had really applied for an arc of Rebel Girls Lead because I wanted to share it with my very own Rebel Girl, my ten year old niece . I wish that I was able to upload her stories and drawings of her very own versions of rebel girls inspired by the women that she's read about.
While there were some entries that had appeared before, I still think that the Rebel Girls books are some of the best things to have come out in this decade. With the incredible, brilliantly coloured illustrations, and the story-telling feel to the biographies, and being just long enough to be informative without losing small attention spans, I hope that these books find their way into many more young hands in times to come.
I especially loved the way that this edition focused on leadership. I just know that it will inspire more young women that just my niece, and watching her believe more and more in herself has been a gift. I especially loved seeing Kamala Harris and Stacey Abrams right there showing how Rebel Girls are making a difference right now. And the end pages? "Write your own story", and "leadership Training"? I wanted to cry with happiness.

For all the young girls, and boys, we want to inspire

I want her to believe she can do anything, and here is a book full of women who have achieved so much. I loved reading it out loud and learning more about these strong powerful women. I enjoy the authors and this book series (if series is the appropriate word). The art is beautiful and the choice of women's stories to include. I love the diversity of women - different generations, historical and current day, different fields of influence - there is something for everyone. What a gift for young girls to grow up knowing about and being inspired by incredible women.

My daughter (8) has been into the Rebel Girls podcast since it began and has all the books as well. She really enjoys the stories and the pictures, and frequently asks when another one will be coming out. She loved this book as much as the rest of the series, even though some of the stories are shared between the books (I would prefer they were all new, but that's just me). Keep the Rebel Girls books coming, please - it's great to have nonfiction about strong women that is appropriate for elementary kids.

My daughters (8 and 4) love the Rebel Girls books, and so do I! The pictures catch their attention and before bedtime they choose a person each, dipping into incredible and empowering stories without being overwhelmed. It is so important for our daughters and sons to read about women who have made a difference and I am planning to buy this book for my nephews as soon as I can. I also really loved the practical exercises at the end and when my girls are a bit older we will definitely use them for inspiration.

Thank you NetGalley and Rebel Girls for providing this ARC.
