I must firstly apologise for the amount of time it has taken me to provide me review of this book, my health was rather bad for quite some time, something that had me in hospital on numerous occasions and simply didnt leave me with the time I once had to do what I love most.

Unfortunately that does mean I have missed the archive date for many of these books, so It would feel unjust throwing any review together without being able to pay attention to each novel properly.

However, I am now back to reading as before and look forward to sharing my honest reviews as always going forward. I thank you f0r the patience and understanding throughout x

Great thriller. Hooked you from the start and kept you going. There were a few parts that felt redundant but overall the story and pace were good along with the character development. Great start to a series.

Thank you netgalley and publisher for opportunity to read and review this arc honestly.

This book has so many of my favorite hallmarks in a new series...I'm impressed. Jenna Kernan has done an amazing job of building the characters, both villian and civilian, and giving them the back stories and community to enhance a story sure to give me nightmares for the next few nights. When the MC begins to question her own history in order to stop a killer, the action and suspense keep you awake and reading long after....one more chapter.

A Killers Daughter by Jenna Kernan

This a well written thriller by a great author. I truly found myself stuck with the book in my face and stayed there until I finished it. If you enjoy police procedural with a great plot, this one is for you.

4/5 stars

Thank you to NetGalley as well as the author and publisher for giving me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my unbiased and honest review.

I read this back in 2021 when crime fiction was not my favorite to read but I was trying to get out of my comfort zone. It didn’t scare me but it did keep me guessing. The quick relationship didn’t seem convincing. Otherwise it was a good read.

A KILLERS DAUGHTER by Jenna Kernan

I found this book extremely hard to get through. I’m currently on chapter 8 while I’m writing this review and also where I decided to stop reading.
This premise is tailor made for me. I love this concept of a parent being a serial killers and when I started reading the book I loved it even more when I found out which parent it was.
Beyond that I’m lost.
I do not understand what job Nadine the main character was signing up for when she accepted employment. But she seemed extremely reluctant to be working on a serial killer case due to her familial connection and her job is a criminal profiler.
I don’t understand how she hadn’t thought of this before all of her schooling and as said before taking that job.
I should have stopped there but I kept going and ended up ensnared in a love interest side plot that was wholly unnecessary and detracting from the serial killer case and storyline.

Not for me. ⭐️

Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the advanced copy!

Jenna Kernan is seriously one of my favorite writers! This is the first book I've read of hers and I am SO GLAD this is going to be a series. I loved Nadine Finch (she is seriously a bada**). Her character was amazing but also realistic and I cannot wait to see what she has to face in future cases. I seriously could not put this book down as soon as I started. I stayed up until 3AM just to finish!

An enjoyable police procedural style thriller. This is the first in the series and you could tell that as there was quite a lot of backstory in terms of Nadine’s Mum and also the ending was definitely left to set up a second book. I would definitely read the next in the series.

This book was good! Suspenseful with lots of red herrings, dark and twisty. However, the main characters, especially in the beginning, got a bit redundant. We get it- your mom is a serial killer and you don’t want anyone to find out. I do like when there’s a little romance in my thrillers though so that was a nice addition!

This is a book that follows Agent Nadine Finch, a profiler dealing with her first ever case. The details of the crime have striking resemblances to a crime that she has spent ages trying to forget. Can she put this all aside and reconnect with her mother to help stop a copy-cat from killing more people?

This book was a slow burner to begin with and I will admit, there were times where I did think about DNF'ing as I always feel the first few chapters are important in determining my thoughts on a book. However, I stuck it out and I am quite glad that I did!

Despite the slow start, the story improved a fair bit and started to real me in. The plot was very interesting. Why is there a copy-cat killer of Nadine's mum? Why are they being replicated now? It was such an original plot which I feel is rather rare when it comes to thrillers.

In terms of character development, I really liked Nadine. She was a strong, capable, independent protagonist. It was quite clear that her childhood was something she had not dealt with completely and her struggles came out throughout the book.

I am actually quite looking forward to reading the second instalment of the Nadine Finch books! So thank you to NetGalley and Bookoture for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!

This is the first instalment in the Agent Nadine Finch series and what an explosive start…. Nadine is called to the scene of a murder in Sarasota Bay… she is perturbed to discover the scene and murder is familiar… it should be, it was the MO of a serial killer from 20 years ago… her mother! Nadine tries to keep this information to herself, she doesn’t want to be forefront of the investigation for the wrong reason, nobody knows of her past and she wants to keep it that way… if possible!

This was an unpredictable rollercoaster ride with several twists and turns along the way, I was gripped from the getgo, I cannot wait to read No. 2 given the shocking ending…..

This book was a fun racy ride. I was reading along at a breakneck speed and could t put this book down! I enjoyed the characters especially Nadine. She was honest and genuine and made me root for her. I enjoyed watching her grow as well.
The writing is great, I literally could not put this book down. I was walking down the street reading away off in my own little world. Great book good reading can’t wait for the next in thw series.

I receive this book in exchange for my honest opinions.

Agent Nadine Finch is called in to investigate when a young woman's body is found drifting in the Sarasota Bay. Nadine pretends this is just another case .. but deep inside she knows differently.

Someone has started killing women in exactly the same way as another killer did 20 years ago..... her mother. Even though she's changed her name, she has always known that the past wouldn't be far away.

No one knows her past and she wants to keep it that way, but working closely with a detective to solve these cases is going to take a leap of faith.

But the detective has his own secrets that he's bound and determined to keep hidden.

With a unique plot and intriguing story line, A KILLER'S DAUGHTER is well written, filled with action. Suspense starting on the very first page makes this a real page turner. The characters are deftly drawn. There are twists and turns along the way that are riveting. The ending is explosive and totally unexpected.

Many thanks to the author / Bookouture / Netgalley for the digital copy of this crime fiction. Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

This just didn’t end up being a book that interested me. When I first read the premise, I was very excited and invested, but getting into it made it clear that it just wasn’t for me. Hopefully it works for others out there!

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for this copy of A Killer's Daughter (Nadine Finch Book 1) by Jenna Kernan.

A Killer's Daughter is a pretty classic thriller, with some good guys hunting some bad guys on a deadline. The deadline is murder and the only ones that can stop it are the good guys, Dr. Nadine Finch and Detective Clint Demko mainly. There are some other characters that come into play but Dr. Finch and Demko are the chief focus and the two people that may be able to stop this killer in thier tracks.

So, this was a fine thriller. A bit of a slow burn and too long by a lot in my opinion. I'm not a huge fan of romantic entanglements in thrillers, especially the way this one is set up but that's strictly my opinion. I'm sure most readers will enjoy that part. The ending was strangely abrupt but I'm guessing that's because it's the first in a proposed series and will roll right into book 2. All in all, worth a read if you're looking for a thriller to dive into.

Even if it's well written and gripping I found hard to connect to Nadine and the story didn't keep my attention.
Not my cup of tea.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

A Serial Killer’s Daughter introduces readers to Agent Nadine Finch, a forensic psychologist. One thing that stands out about Nadine is her twisted family. She is the daughter of a convicted serial killer; her father is missing and her brother is incarcerated. Sounds like a complex family, right?

I enjoyed this case and the psychological angle brought in by the engagement of a forensic psychologist. I am not usually a fan of romance so the relationship between Nadine and the Lead Detective, Demko, threw me off a bit especially due to the speed at which it occurred. However, both are very interesting characters and so I got over my initial aversion pretty fast.

Fast- paced and twisty, this was a great first installment in what promises to be a fascinating series.

So I've rarely read a thriller that turns out to be the first in a series AND that I've decided I'll definitely be picking up the sequel. This novel was dark, yes, but I also bonded with the characters over the course of the novel, which is why I want to read on. Nadine was a little difficult to get to know at first, frustrating and sometimes infuriating, but her character arc throughout this book made it for me. The thriller elements like I already mentioned were really rather dark; I mean with a copy-cat serial killer and more than one character with a tragic past, is anyone surprised? But it really nailed that apprehension I look for in my thrillers rather than just throwing death and despair at me with no purpose. I can't wait to follow the protagonists journey in book two.
