I did not read the other books in this series, but after reading "Amber" I definitely will be. This is a heartbreaking tale in which you can see from a mile away what is coming, but you hope that you are wrong. This book reeled me and held on tight, even through the traumatic and truly horrible parts. I would recommend.

Amber is the 4th book in the Working Girls series and in my opinion this is the best one yet. Despite dealing with a very sensitive subject, Ambers story grips you from the very first page and keeps you rooting for her throughout. I have loved all the books in this series and although this can be read as a stand alone story I would definitely recommend reading the others in the series.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Amber's story is the fourth installment in the Working Girls series.

Loretta is unexpectedly left a widow with two young children and finding life hard, with a string of boyfriends trying her best for the children the latest one takes a shine to young Amy just 13 finds herself raped.

Loretta has a bright idea to basically pimp out poor little Amy.

There is a letter at the beginning of book with the sensitive warning I was unsure if I wanted to continue but I am so glad I did as I think this is the best from Heather.

Awful to think that this unfortunately does happen in the real world.

This is a heartbreaking read which Heather has written fantastically and you will root for Amy to be able to turn her life around.

Well worthy of 5 stars.

Amber is the fourth book in the series of The working girl, the others being, Crystal, Ruby, and The Mark. This one is equally as thrilling and dramatic as the first three.

Amber was once Amy living on the Withington estate. Her mother Loretta loves her drink and is often drunk after losing Amy and her brother Nathans brother so young, she isn't coping well. The bills are getting bigger and more demanding by the day there is no money for food or clothes. Loretta has many boyfriends who support her and the children for a time but one, in particular, takes a fancy to Amy and rapes her. After his sickening behaviour Loretta realises that Amy is a potential money earner and pushes her to go on the streets selling her body, using sickening threats that if she doesn't they will never see their mum again and Nathan and her will end up in a children's home.
Amy's life goes from bad to worse with the different people she encounters she is frightened and lonely. Then she learns a secret that threatens her life.
A fantastic book and a gripping story well worth every 5 star.
Thank you, NetGalley for allowing me to read and review this excellent book. x

Manchester, Amber's story, the forth book in the working girl's trilogy,
A woman surviving on the game as a working girl, with a distressing memory of her childhood, this is told from a innocent child once called Amy now known as Amber on the game as a working girl.
Living on a run down housing estate in Withington, with her widowed mother Loretta and brother Nathan after her father's death so young, it is a big struggle falling on hard times.
This book is one hard hitting story and heart breaking, a work of fiction that I admire the author for writing, so emotional reading with details not for the faint hearted, but she has express the whole book right down to the end. Amy's and Amber's story is one of a kind, and in my books deserves every single star that I was allowed to give. I adore every one of the working girl's books and this one has to be my best up to now but will be aching for a lot more, every story has a tale to tell and has been written from this authors heart.

Another instalment in the Working Girls series, and for me this is the best one yet. Covering a very sensitive subject, it has been written honestly and authentically. Brilliant storyline, fantastically executed with fabulous characters.

The fourth book of a series, so I feel I need to read the previous books. We meet Amber, a working girl who ends up using the protection services of a man named Kev Pike - someone with a history and a reputation.

Amy, is a 12 year old girl who lives with her mother Loretta and brother Nathan. Their father dying tragically means they have to leave the life they once knew and move to pastures new, only it’s not what they are used too. With money right and bills racking up, Loretta decides to use Amy as a pawn in her sick game - meeting with men for money. Having been raped by her mums previous boyfriend, Amy is put to work on the streets to help pay her way and help her mum out but things go from bad to worse.

What happens to Amy is dreadful and Loretta definitely won’t win parent of the year but how are they connected to Angie and Amber?

Loved this latest installment of the working girls series but found it ended too quickly seeming to come to a very sudden end. Great story though & enjoyed it.

I haven't read any other books by this author but this won't be the last. This is a dark and gritty book and very well written. The topics of prostitution, drug use, alcoholism, and homelessness are all a part of Amber's story. Despite the darkness, there is a bit of hope too. I look forward to reading more.

With her mother called Loretta and her son Nathan and Amy
They were called too posh
Amy was too young to be a working girl
But she is too young to be sexually abused
She is called Amber now and she meets Kevin Price who is her boyfriend and pimp
I had an ARC
