This was a fascinating read about Jennifer Doudna, one the biggest players in helping create the genomic revolution with the development of the CRISPR system which enables precise editing of DNA. While this book goes into Doudna's life and achievements, it also goes into scientific rivalries, raises ethical questions, and discusses vaccines for coronavirus. Overall, this puts forward an overarching story about CRISPR, it's potential impacts, and the people who helped discover it. I would recommend this to just about everyone as this is an issue that will impact us now and future generations to come.

Thank you Net Galley for the free ARC. Two lessons I have learned from this book: it takes a village to come up with scientific progress and science has become very commercial. The best part was the idea of using CRISPR to make humans immune to Corona Virus. Interesting that some viruses have evolved anti crispr genes.
