I received this as an eARC via Netgalley. These opinions are my own.
I loved how cute, adorable and how relatable this comic.
I easily feel in love with "Beanie" the main character. Just watching her grow from a 4 yr old toddler to a married adult.
This book just warmed my soul and a good palette cleanser from books that I was reading before this. I will definitely look for more from this author.

As a fan of the Beanie comic series I was ecstatic to find this available for “pre-reading”, as it were. A fantastically relatable comic, with brilliant illustration. At the end of the day, don’t we all wonder what our younger selves would think of us now?

(Full disclosure: I received a free e-ARC for review through Netgalley.)

Twenty-seven-year-old artist Beanie has just come out of hibernation to make a cup of tea when four-year-old 'apparent time traveler' Beanie materializes in her kitchen. What follows is a journey through the subsequent twenty-three years as adult Beanie fills toddler Beanie in on all she's yet to experience. And, okay, tries to defend some of her less defensible life choices, like remaining tragically dog-less.

Add "What's Up, Beanie?" to the list of online comic strips that I didn't know about until they were collected into a book that caught my eye on Netgalley. (You can follow Tysoe on tumblr and Webtoons!) WHAT'S UP, BEANIE? collects ~160 previously published strips, along with some new material.

The collection focuses most heavily on lil' Beanie, resulting a mix that's 3:1 cute and sometimes relatable vs. cringe-y and 110% relatable. It's a fun enough read, but I was hoping for more socially awkward mishaps and such.

There are plenty of dog-centric strips to go around, so bonus points for that!

This was my first experience with the What's Up, Beanie comic, and it's a very sweet book. These cute, innocent comics would be great for children, and those wanting clean humor.

Such a gem of a book. The illustrations are fabulous and this took me back to my childhood. So many episodes are so relatable.
Looking forward to more books from the author.

Beanie was so relatable. What an adorable and uplifting book! The artwork was charming and really complimented the storyline.

This was cutish and few of the stories were relatable.

However, I wasn't all that crazy about the art, and for the life of me, I can't figure out why there was that single chilshood photo.

I also didn't like that most of the stories (more than 50%) are stories from childhood. Teen years have only, like 10 stories, and a bit more from adult life. I would like it more if the things were balanced better. This way, some of the stories were a little repetitive.

I got this on Netgalley in exchange for an honest review!

I really like this kind of comic collection, and this one, especially since it follows little kid Beanie and adult Beanie reflecting on the past and what's happened between then and now. It feels more organized that way than just having a "regular" comic collection! I also LOVE the artstyle, how extremely relatable and how cute it is! It also has so many mini life lessons, which I always think is positive!

Would recommend this to anyone!

This is a collection of everydat life comic pages and I rarely read anything similar, but this one caught my attention and I don't regret it at all! At some points I laughed, at others it was sadder, I was really entertained by the story, often I could agree with the characters or saw the thing I used to do (or still am doing!) and I loved that! And the little Beanie? Oh gosh, could you showe me anything as cute as her?

I'm really glad I could read it, because it was such an incredible evening spent with the book, my heart melted. Soo lovely, really recommend it!

An absolutely adorable book! The book consists of mostly self-contained stories that pan out across a couple panels. They're heart-warming, funny, and tell the ups and downs of the author/artist's childhood. I loved the interactions between baby Beanie and older Beanie. At the end, where Beanie sees how she's changed and how she isn't, the advice she gives her younger self, I actually cried a little. It was bittersweet reading the author/artist essentially self-reflecting in a very exposing way (via a graphic novel read by many), reading about her regrets but also her seeing what goals she's reached and her happiness with her life.

I love this so much!!
I'm a big fan of Alina/Beanie. Here we get the full story from baby Beanie to adult Beanie and it was a joy to watch her grow. I laughed, got nostalgic and laughed again with all the occurrences and little things that happened to our littlr Bean..
The art style feels homey and cozy and it gives you these happy vibes that make you wanna go through your old pictures and remember all the things you forgot about, or as Beanie says "all the little things that made/make us happy".
New favorite graphic novel for sure.

Thank you to Netgalley, Alina Tysoe and the publishers for the chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this. I've been following Beanie around the internet for a while, so getting to see the whole collection in one place was wonderful. Beanie is such a wholly relatable character and the comics themselves were fun and interactive. I loved it and cannot wait to read more!

Review to be posted on blog/goodreads August 1st.

I received this book from Netgalley/the publisher in exchange of an honest review.

OMG, I am so so hyped that I get to read this book early. I have been following Beanie comics for some time now and I am excited that there will be a whole book collecting the comics. I knew there would be plenty I would recognise, but since I have been following so long there would also be ones I may not remember right away. And anyway, I don't mind re-reading this, this comic is just the best and makes me laugh, something that, given the news we are going to get this evening (Jan 12th), is sorely needed.

I love that this book is split up in parts. We begin with mini Beanie, go to Teen Beanie, and then end up with Adult Beanie. That is just perfect. Adult Beanie does pop up sometimes to talk to Mini Beanie about how things are now. But that is perfect, I love the reactions of Mini Beanie on the revelations of the older one. But back to that I love that the book is split up, normally her comics are totally random on what you may get each week. I am generally not a big fan of Teen Beanie for instance, and Mini Beanie is cute but at times just a bit too much. So this book is perfect to have as you can just go to the Beanie of your choice without having to search or go through lots and lots of comics. Though I have to say that I was surprised how little Teen Beanie there was in this book, it was 20-ish pages, which just feels weird as the Mini and Adult get so many more pages (+/- 100 each).

All in all, I had tons of fun reading this. Seeing the antics of Mini Beanie, read how Teen Beanie got to live in a new country, see tons of doggies in the Adult Beanie and how her relationship with Mike started (plus so many relatable comics in that part). I just love this artist's style and how she draws things. Things are just cute and I love the expressions on human and animals. And those last pages were just *chef kiss* perfect! Highly recommended! Will be adding this one to my collection when I can.

I'm a big fan of Aline Tysoe's comics on IG; they're cute and remind me of the beautiful innocence of childhood and how pure being a kid was.

This is a walkthrough in Alina's life, and seeing her taking on bing challenges since being a kid, the warmth of growing up in a great household, put a smile on my face.

Little Beanie was hilarious.
The stories along with the drawings were great.
The older years were good too, but there was something about Little beanie that I loved.

I had never heard of this webcomic before, but I'm a fan now. This cute comic follows Beanie through her life, starting as a toddler and into adulthood. The comics are so relatable, especially as she grows up. If you like webcomics, I recommend this book.

I received this as an ARC from Netgalley and the publisher. All opinions are my own.

Alina Tysoe, the pink-haired illustrator behind the wildly popular What's Up, Beanie?, captures relatable topics like family, the awkward pains of social anxiety, sweet moments of love and a growing relationship, amusing childhood stories, and her intense love of dogs. I absolutely loved reading this book. I highly recommend reading it. Thank you to NetGalley for allowing me to read this book.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this lovely ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I just loved it and it was so cute and enjoyable. It was so adorable with Beanie as a kid with her family members and then with her boyfriend/husband it became so cute and funny to read. Her love for puppies is so funny too. I got a real good time reading this book/comic. I like the artist's style. It was a story that brings you good feelings and make you feel warm in your heart. Thank you it was amazing and it deserves to be popular.
