Flashpoint is an amazing beginning to the new Forged in Fire series from Skye Jordan. After reading this book I am super excited for the following books.

Flashpoint has likable main characters— which I am picky about so it means a lot when I say I actually liked them. Natalie is a hard-working baker with a very big heart. From the beginning it is made clear how much she cares for everyone who is around her. Natalie isn’t written like the perfect woman with everything together which made me enjoy reading about her. She has a kind yet confident personality.

Cole is hard working and devoted for his job, but remains humble in his talent. I actually really appreciated Cole’s passion for firefighting as I never knew there was more to the career than... putting out fires. Cole has a bachelors and masters degree in fire related fields.

It’s clear from the beginning Cole has a love for Natalie and he cares about her so much. However the story reads like a slow-burn which I appreciated more than two characters realizing they like each other and marrying each other after a day. After the pair is together it’s a satisfactory for both the couple and reader.

The sub-plots are well written and kept me entertained enough to continue. There were even events in those that I found myself more invested in than the chapter relating to Natalie or Cole. I do wish those had a concise ending with the novel though because I’m still wondering about those.

Skye Jordan has fantastic writing. This is my first time reading a novel from her and I was truly in love with her style. First person point of view can turn me away from books quickly as sometimes it’s written very juvenile— but not this. Jordan made me feel like I was watching a movie with her writing. Everything moves at a pace that kept me reading and loving it, there was no moment when I thought ‘I wish this scene would end’ because every scene was written beautifully as well as added details and life to this book.

Great book!! This is the first book of a new series!. It was a nice easy read! It was hot, it had action , drama , a little heartache and heartbreak! The storyline flowed very nice, it didn't have any heart pounding suspense but all and all it was a great read! I can't wait for more in this series!! Hopefully there is more?! This book is well worth reading! I highly recommend it! Thank you Netgalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me!

I see the beginning of another fantastic series here. Cole and Natalie had a lot to work through, but even Natalie’s fears brought on by the past were enough to keep them apart for long. And when their truths came into the light for all to see, Natalie showed her true self by stepping up for both Cole and their friends Logan. I was so pleasantly surprised by this read that I can’t wait to see who gets their forever next!
