This is a fun read.
Great characters. Snappy banter.
Wonderful start to a series.
I can’t wait for the next book!
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an arc in exchange for my honest opinion.

This book was so unexpected. I’m usually such a pretty cover reader and while no doubt this book had a good cover, it just didn’t shout at me like some other covers do. The story though? I couldn’t have fallen more in love with it.

How could one twist of fate; one wrong email forward to the wrong person, a chance encounter & so much chemistry exist? The two main characters captured my heart in so many ways.. it had been so long since I’d been able to see myself in the female lead personality wise SO much. I love a storyline with a good group of female friends and guys, this one so delivered!!

“Forgive me sister for I have sinned, it’s been... umm, ten minutes since my last confession.”

How could it get better than this?! A story where the female lead is a woman who has such strong bonds of friendship that had this been the main plot of the story, I STILL would have loved it and read it all in two sittings as I did with this one.

I was disappointed with the lack of epilogue (we all know me and my love of epilogues..) but with the promise of more stories within this world to come, I can’t wait for the next book!

This was a fun and flirty read!

It was predictable and sometimes a bit unrealistic, but overall this was a great comfort read that I would highly recommend for a romance lover!

After mistakenly receiving an email from handsome Dr Liam meant for someone else, Anna jokingly replies to the email. This begins an email friendship until they decide to meet face to face. They both have career commitments that keep them from having a serious relationship, but when their feelings turn from friendship to romance, they have to decide whether to make it work or end it.
This was a unique story with a good character build up. I was getting as frustrated as Anna by Liam's reluctance to take things out of the friend zone! It's a cute and heartwarming story.
Thank you to Sigal Ehrlich for the opportunity to read this sweet romance. I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. The views and opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

« You know how some people chill at coffee shops or parks. One of my favorite downtime places is the library. Where i can still be surrounded by people, yet, conversations and phones are hushed and my mind can unwind as it is immersed in book blurbs, musty-smelling hardcovers with worn spines, and my thoughts. »

Liam sent an e-mail to an old friend and it accidentally goes right into Anna’s inbox. She decides to write him back to let him know he has the wrong e-mail address and from there, a cyber friendship starts. The more they talk the more they feel connected to each other. At some point, they decide to meet in person and then it really gets interesting and also a bit complicated ! Liam doesn’t want a relationship and says it clearly on Day 1. He’s all about his work and doesn’t want to start something with someone and disappoint her later. He simply has no time for a relationship.

I love Anna’s character, she’s this sweet, independent girl and her friendship with the « chickens » is the best ! This group of friends is great and they all really care about one another !

The romance between the two main characters is quite adorable, their dialogues are often funny and you can feel that there is a real connection between these two ! I really enjoyed reading this book ! It’s a solid 4-star rating for me and i totally recommend it !

Put your pjs on, get a blanket and a glass of wine and curl up for an evening with this brilliant book.
A nice light read about an unexpected romance and the importance of a great group of friends. I really enjoyed this book although it got emotional at times.

We’re only halfway through January, but I’ll be hard pressed to find a book this year with characters I enjoy more than I did Anna and Liam. Their story, for me, was perfect. Perhaps because it reminded me so much of my own - communicating solely through emails/IM’s, then phone conversations, then meeting in person as friends and forming a very close friendship before dating. Beyond those two and their slowly evolving love story were the friendships that both Anna and Liam had outside of each other. There was a lot of women supporting women and all the relationships were believable. Perhaps my favorite thing about this book was the chemistry between Anna and Liam - it felt so real, like the story was playing out in front of me and it had me feeling ALL the emotions with them. Loved this one and will be recommending to others.

This is a wonderful accidental online friends to lovers romance, it's been a while since I read about a character who is a doctor and that aspect of Liam's life is done extremely well.
Anna and Liam become friends accidentally over email, and fall for each other a time which is not very conducive for their relationship. The book touches upon the difficulties of focussing on high stress careers while wanting a relationship, but also about the importance of giving people a chance to be supportive instead of deciding for them.
I may not agree with all of Anna's dietary views, but her take on prioritising yourself and losing your self worth in the face of a partner who does not give their all to the relationship.
It's a fairly long book but every scene is enjoyable, and with purpose in the plot. Anna's life as a fitness trainer and entrepreneur, her wholesome friendship with other women, Liam's friendships, they are as important as the love story itself.
Definitely a book I'll find myself reading again.

By Mistake is a lovely and well written romance with lots of humour and a great underlying story. Anna and Liam are brilliant characters, but I also really enjoyed Anna's friends and the relationship she has with her sister. I will definitely be reading more from Sigal!

By Mist@ke started really strong.

Anna and Liam are both strong people with life goals they want to meet. She wants to buy her own fitness studio and Liam is concluding his residency as a doctor and waiting for acceptance with Doctors without borders. When they are connected because Liam sends an e-mail to her address by accident, they strike up a friendship through e-mail, text and on the phone. Without even meeting. And when they do meet, there is chemistry all over the place. But Liam knows this is not the right time in his life for love - even when it seems more and more likely Anna is the ONE.

I liked both characters and we get both their POV in alternating chapters. We also have their friends as secondary characters. After the very strong start, the story did lag a bit for me. It seemed there were a lot of scenes with friends or family that were a bit extensive and wordy so I skimmed a bit. It might be because the author is setting up for the next books in the series, but I was actually just interested in Liam and Anna and not really in their friends and family.

But overall the story was quite adorable with strong leads who both communicated and tried to make their friendship and possible romance work. 4,5 stars rounded to 5.

This was such a sweet and cute read. And I just love the idea of wrong number/sms/email type of romance.
Yes, it is not likely this thing to happen. From all the people on the world, Anna is the one who receives Liam's email, and she is his dream girl....
But let just say it is just pure luck. I love their conversation, you can just feel the attraction.
And after they meet, they are just a dream couple.
I get that Liam is 110% devoted to his job, and yes he needs to be, but I hate that he broke Anna's heart... But I am happy how this all went down.

I love that they grown as a couple. And I just can not wait for Vic's story. The sisterhood and friendship in this book is just great.
Goals.

I read this one in one sitting, and this really is just a good, sweet romance read. Not to hot, but not to PG 13, just right.

4 stars for me.

Thanks to Netgalley for this ARC.

I was so excited for this book because accidental online communication is one of my favourite tropes. In this book, Liam accidentally emails Anna when trying to contact his old friend and they strike up an online friendship, only to discover that they live in the same city.

The email situation wasn't used to the fullest potential in building a connection between the couple, but I still enjoyed the romance between Liam and Anna. It's definitely on the sweeter side, with just a few steamy moments, but I enjoyed the slowburn. The small amount of angst at the end as Liam tried to balance their relationship and his career was well written and kept me invested in the couple.

Unfortunately there were so many random scenes and text messages with Anna's friends that detracted from the romance. They were supposed to be amusing but got tiresome pretty quick, and I ended up skimming a few chapters. I know the author is trying to set this up as a series but I'm reading it for the romance, and until right at the end it felt like every scene with the couple was followed by two with their respective friendship groups.

Also definitely a minor thing but something that cropped up a few times: Anna's obsession with living a healthy lifestyle got annoying after a while. I get that it was an attempt to build a unique character and have Liam and Anna connect over something, but it came across as preachy and could have been toned down a little.

Overall this was just an okay read for me. There were definitely things I liked but the whole book could be improved with less focus on the side characters and more on the romance.

By Mistake was a feel-good, light with little angst story. After receiving an email from an unknown sender, Anna got intrigued. So, she replies, and there starts the flirty exchange between her and Liam. Two stranger who seems to hit it off wonderfully online. Will this undeniable chemistry continue on a face to face meeting?

This book is funny, romantic, and sexy (nothing explicit) with characters who will grow on you more as the story progress. It's a slow burn romance with a build from strangers to friends to lovers, perhaps? It's not the kind of romance that I'd read all the time but the author does a great job drawing me in with clever and witty dialogues. The writing style was engaging and the plot was well developed. If you're looking for a sweeter, lighter read you will definitely enjoy this playful, heartwarming story.

This book was really cute. This is the perfect beach read, so don't go in looking to be enlightened. It was easy to read and I could feel the tension between the two main characters. I found my new favorite quote from this book "You want to come into my life, the door is open. You want to get out of my life the door is open. Just don't stand in the door blocking the traffic". The group chat text conversations were really difficult for me to read, like I never knew what was being said. Then again a group chat with my own friends would read the same way. All in all I'd recommend this book for anyone looking for a lighthearted, easy, cute story to read.

I liked it, but there was something that wasn't for me. I was not a fan of the group texts with the friends. It got tiresome for me. I found myself almost skipping them after a while.

I received a complimentary copy of By Mistake in exchange for an honest review. This book was neither great or terrible, it was just blah. I really like the concept of meeting by e-mail through a missent message. The dialogue that continued electronically was really creative, and was the best part of the entire novel.

This was definitely a slow burn romance with very little conflict or drama. Maybe the biggest distraction or letdown was the dialogue between Ana and her friends. It was all very strange and didn't read well.

Unfortunately this was not a good fit for my reading preferences.

All the warm fuzzies and unicorns are aligning in this delightful story about two people who happen together by mistake. A mis-addressed email to our do-good heroine ignites a flirty back and forth with the hot hero doctor. No “return to sender” for this missive.

Anna is an environmentally conscious nutritionist/Pilates instructor just hoping to get approved for a loan to buyout her boss’s workout studio – no time for a relationship. Minding her own business when she opens an email that was sent to her by mistake. She does the honorable thing and responds to let the sender know they need to re-send to the correct recipient. Enter our busy doctor Liam (yep, one of my fave male character names – Yum!) Liam has applied to Doctors without Borders while completing his hectic residence stint. He has some extremely strict pre-planned life rules – specifically “no romantic commitments until his residency is finished in a year.”

As they begin their back-and-forth correspondence, the flirtation is relatively harmless. You can flirt with abandon when you know you will never meet the person on the other side of the email. What ends up happening is they genuinely get to know each other. It is so easy to open up and be honest when you have no expectations of relationship drama. I adore Anna’s personality and confidence, but I will admit that I was slightly annoyed with Liam’s hard-headed “no commitment til I succeed” stance. But hey! You need to have imperfect characters in a story to really get into the nuance of what the author is writing about for our reading pleasure.

As we are getting to know Anna and Liam, we are given a treat in the secondary characters. Anna’s gal group the “Chickens” all have unique personalities of their own. And what a fabulously supportive group of friends (including Anna’s sister Victoria). I am telling you – you will eat this book up in one afternoon and aspire to have the uncomplicated mindset that Anna radiates. Another bonus to the story is all the motivational quotes that both Anna and Liam sign off on their emails. My fave of those quotes: “Don’t tell me the sky is the limit when there are footprints on the moon.”

The sweet slow-burn of this virtual “meet cute” will have you searching your emails for that mistaken romance. The clear message our authorette Ms. Ehrlich succinctly conveys is that your career and your relationship happiness need to balance. Hard to truly have one without the other. This was my first book from Sigal Ehrlich which reads very well as a standalone. Now, I am impatiently awaiting her next installment – by Chance. Vicky and Ricky’s Poison and Wine hook up.

This book was cute and sweet and utterly adorable. If you're on the fence as to whether get it and read it, do it. The concept was original, the characters were hysterical, rounded, and distinct, and the writing was smooth, compelling, and just over all, excellent. It's 1st person dual POV, so you get in Anna's head and in Liam's. I can't remember the last adult romance I read that was 1st person while switch POV and I actually really liked it.
Liam and Anna's exchanges were so cute at the beginning. I thought they'd wait a while to try and meet up, but they did that earlier than I expected and even that was great. I loved how the author very changed each of their minds very subtly - about each other and about life in general - as the story progressed. There was character growth that seemed natural, there was conflict resolution that felt healthy, and there wasn't a major "sorry I hurt you so badly but since we're OTP, who cares anyway?" kind of situations that I'm finding more and more in chick lit. Liam and Anna had great chemistry, flirty banter, and, at first, a slightly unusual relationship that just worked for them. The secondary characters were fabulous, and it looks like a few of them will be starring in their own novels later this year too.
This is a slower story, but don't let that fool or scare you: this is still absolutely a page turner.
On the one hand, I loved that Liam wasn't willing to completely give up his life's goals for a girl he'd essentially just met, BUT I wasn't the biggest fan of how he treated her in doing so. It moved the story along, and there wasn't anything specifically wrong with it. It's just as the reader I was like "gah! no. treat her better!!!" And I did love how Anna wasn't just pining away, waiting for him to come back and take him back immediately. I LOVED her confidence! How rare, I suddenly feel, to read a rom-com/chick lit, whatever you want to call it, where the main female is as confident as Anna was! To not take him back as soon as she first sees him again, to not take the money he offers to help her family out, to be the one who was so upfront and honest with her feelings of wanting more. I loved it!!!
This book is sweet and spicy, it is 100% worth your read. It's currently classified as New Adult, and I'm not sure that label fits given that Anna is almost 30. But also the content is definitely more Adult than New Adult. It is not a clean book - in fact, the amount and type of language had me wondering where the book was set for a good portion of the beginning, but then reading the author's bio at the end made a bit more sense of the mixings. This is a book that you have you wondering if you should respond to that African Prince who's emailing you about winning money. Don't respond to that. Just buy this book instead.

This book was absolutely adorable. I am one of the biggest fans of any kind of correspondence inside of a book, whether it be letters, emails, texts, etc. This book had plenty of emails between the characters, as well as some texts, for people like me while still remaining true to the in person details for those that don’t prefer them.

The book starts with Liam making a typo in the email he’s sending and it ending up in Anna’s inbox, and Anna playing along just to be polite and let him know his email hadn’t gone where he wanted it. What ensues is the sweetest, and most lasting way for a couple to find out they are perfect one another – becoming friends first.

Through a series of interactions led on by their amazing chemistry, and perhaps a couple of dares from her friends, Anna and Liam showcase what happens when you find your perfect person, at the completely wrong time, and whether it is better to find the right time, or keep the perfect person through the wrong time so you don’t lose them when the right time finally comes around.

The series is set to be stand alone books inside a connected world, I’m guessing a book for each friend. I’m looking forward to them all – not only for their own stories, but for what I’m hoping are tidbits on the future of Liam and Anna.
