“No matter how teeny-tiny I am, no matter how weebly-wobbly I am,” Dizzie Lizzie vows, “I’ll find a way!” (4).
Dizzy Lizzie is about a kitten named Lizzie who lives with her Mama Cat and her siblings under a den in an old house. Every day is a struggle for Lizzie, having no control of her temper as she tries to find a way to get her share of the milk with the rest of the litter. But when the old house is destroyed, the litter is taken away from their Mama and sent to a shelter to be adopted. Will Lizzie be able to adopt to these changes? Will she be able to control her temper in order to secure a home with her siblings?
The artwork in this children’s book is charming and consistent as it blends in well with the lovely lyrical prose. The word choice is wonderful with a mix of sound effects from inanimate objects and portrayals of real life cats. Rhythm and repetition of the prose is evident throughout this book too as it paints a clear moral to the story. Even if one is little and the odds are against them, one can persevere while thinking critically and creatively to solve any problem. Lizzie may be the littlest kitten in her litter, but she is filled with determination and able to find a way through every different struggle she encounters.
This picture book is recommended to teach young readers how to persevere, being loyal to family, whether blood-related or adopted, and how good things will come for those who do not give up. An uplifting read for storytime or bedtime.

I wasn’t expecting the turn this book took but the overall message was good and I think it would be a good book for those adopting a kitten. The pictures were cute and it was a sweet read for toddlers/preschoolers.
*Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinions

A cute short children's book with lots of interesting vocabulary for discussion. This would definitely be attractive to children, especially those cat lovers out there.
It may have been due to the device I was reading on (Kindle App on iPhone) but there were lots of extra spaces within words such as the and then - which appeared as th e and th en.
I am obviously rating this as if I was the target audience and I would've loved this as a kid!

This is a beautifully told story which stirred a few emotions. The pictures are delightful. I can see that it will have value in inviting questions and conversation about the story between reader and adult. Nicely done. Thanks to Netgalley and publisher for a digital copy in exchange for my review.

Adorable! It’s like intro to Animal Rescue for babies!
I do think “Chinky” is a weird name for a kitten, but other than that this book was great! Such an adorable store about animal adoption and the experience from their point of view!

A cute children’s story about the smallest kitten in the litter. Colorful illustrations and captivating story line for any small child’s interests.
I would definitely recommend this book to read to or share with children.

A sweet story about kittens who are separated from their Mama and taken to a rescue where they are raised and adopted, featuring the resolve and bravery of the tiniest Kitten, Dizzy Lizzie. Dizzy Lizzie will inspire its readers to be brave, stand up for themselves, and try their hardest, no matter how small they are. Full of gorgeous art, and simple prose with a nice rhythm which will be great for reading aloud.
I am grateful to NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for providing me with a digital copy in return for my honest review.

Loved this story. Kitten who doesn’t give up! Would be a great book to read to kids or give as gift.

Dizzy Lizzie is born under a building with her eight siblings. She is the smallest of kittens. Due to that fact, she has to struggle to get get her milk from her mama. One day the building starts falling down around the kittens. The men stopped their work and put the kittens into a box to take them home. The kittens are crying for their mama. What will happen to the kittens? Are they safe? Will they continue to live together?
The author has written a story about family, friendship, love, loyalty and adoption. It has great illustrations that are perfect the story. It also shows the responsibility of taking care of your pets. The author writes it in a manner that had me feeling the kittens love for their mom.

Dizzy Lizzie is a story of a kitten that doesn't give up at whatever life throws at her. It is a great story of perseverance and endurance. This would be a good story to read in a classroom or a story time setting. Thanks to NetGalley and the Publisher for the opportunity to read this book. (This review is also on GoodReads.)

Dizzy Lizzie is an adorable little kitten who is the runt of the litter. She is small and sickly. Circumstances soon separate her from her mother and then from her siblings. But Lizzie doesn't give up and soon finds a beautiful home.
As far as the story goes, it is a simple, cute, straightforward narration and goes exactly as expected. That's how early readers like it, right? A happy ending for everyone involved. Children will surely enjoy darling little Lizzie with her hissy fits and love for her siblings.
The story emphasizes the importance of animal adoption and that is a wonderful message to pass forward to little minds. What I found a pleasant surprise at the end was that this was based on the true story of the author and her cats. The pic melted my heart.
The illustrations are absolutely scrumptious!

This was a cute story about a little kitten. It is a nice story about being the underdog and the runt.

I really enjoyed this book. The sounds of the words will be loved by the younger children and
the illustrations are wonderful. The kittens go through so much as they lose their home, their mama, and
each other.. Change happens, we adjust and move on. There is safety and love to be found after great upheaval.
An optimistic tale.

This was a really special book for a few different reasons. I loved that this was written in prose and really descriptive language. I thought it was a smart choice to have one full page of illustration and one full page of text, making it easy to connect the two, especially being this is primarily a children's book. From the same perspective, I thought the overarching themes of perseverance and never giving up were great lessons to pass on in a children's book. Overall, I have nothing bad to say about this and think it'll be a huge hit!

This was such a cute and fun storybook! I loved the illustration style and how the pages with the story were also designed. It felt whimsical. I enjoyed the themes of sibling relationships and determination. The character names are fun too!

Adorable. Love an animal adoption story.
That said, I would have liked to know what happened to the kittens' mama after they were taken from the house.

This is the adorable story of a kitten who is the youngest of her litter, the titular Dizzy Lizzie.
She is born inside an abandoned building, having eight older siblings, whom she loves, but they often don't leave enough milk for her, so when her turn comes, she remains hungry and throws hissy fits. She eventually realizes that she can eat after her older sister, Kimba, falls asleep.
One day, she and her siblings are discovered by some builders and are given away for adoption.
And of course, all of the kittens are sad and afraid and want their mom. But at least the lady at the shelter treats them good and Lizzie doesn't have to wait for her siblings to eat before she does.
As the days pass, Lizzie's siblings are adopted to loving houses, until she and Kimba are the only ones left in the shelter. One day, there comes a lady, wanting to adopt Kimba. Lizzie out of love for her sister and out of fear of being left all alone, thinks about throwing a hissy fit. But she doesn't. Instead, she tries to charm her way into the lady's heart.
The lady initially says that her house is too small and cannot afford a second kitten, despite Lizzie's pleas. But the little one follows her outside, still trying to get on her good side. The lady eventually adopts both of them and the story ends with Lizzie and Kimba moving into a nice and warm home and living their best life with their new mother.
Bonus heartwarming fact: Near the end of the book, there is a photo of the author hanging out with her two cats, Kimba and Lizzie. Because this story was based on true events and it's the story of how those two cats came into the author's life.
Plot-wise and even writing-wise, this book isn't really much. But I like what it tries to do.
One could say that a message that can be taken away from this, is how you can find solutions to your problems when you don't get angry and try to think.
But I think that the biggest message people should take away from this, should be: adopt.
Because animals deserve to have someone who loves them and a safe house to live in. And trust me, they will return your love every possible way you can imagine.
What can I say, I am a softie when it comes to animals!
And by the way, the illustrations were amazing!

This story is pure cuteness! With a lesson in not throwing a hissy fit to try to get your way this is the purrfect storybook for young cat lovers and even old cat lovers.

A sweet story about determination and sibling bonds. Great art (felt a lot like a classic Golden book) and a heartwarming story.

Die-hard cat lovers will enjoy this sweet story about Dizzy Lizzie and her many siblings. As the smallest, Lizzie must fight to get what she wants - until the litter is separated from their mama and even throwing "a hissy fit" doesn't fix the problem. Fortunately, the kittens are raised by a loving "Bottle Lady", and a determined, playful Lizzie proves to a prospective owner that two cats are better than one. Colorful, expressive illustrations add to the charm and cuteness factor.
Unfortunately, Lizzie's love for her (feline) mama is so thoroughly developed in the first half of the story that sensitive children may be upset by their abrupt, forced separation. Even though Lizzie eventually finds a human "mama", the new attachment happens too fast to be completely believable and satisfying.
