Dizzy Lizzie is an adorable little kitten who is the runt of the litter. She is small and sickly. Circumstances soon separate her from her mother and then from her siblings. But Lizzie doesn't give up and soon finds a beautiful home.
As far as the story goes, it is a simple, cute, straightforward narration and goes exactly as expected. That's how early readers like it, right? A happy ending for everyone involved. Children will surely enjoy darling little Lizzie with her hissy fits and love for her siblings.
The story emphasizes the importance of animal adoption and that is a wonderful message to pass forward to little minds. What I found a pleasant surprise at the end was that this was based on the true story of the author and her cats. The pic melted my heart.
The illustrations are absolutely scrumptious!

This was a cute story about a little kitten. It is a nice story about being the underdog and the runt.

I really enjoyed this book. The sounds of the words will be loved by the younger children and

the illustrations are wonderful. The kittens go through so much as they lose their home, their mama, and

each other.. Change happens, we adjust and move on. There is safety and love to be found after great upheaval.

An optimistic tale.

This was a really special book for a few different reasons. I loved that this was written in prose and really descriptive language. I thought it was a smart choice to have one full page of illustration and one full page of text, making it easy to connect the two, especially being this is primarily a children's book. From the same perspective, I thought the overarching themes of perseverance and never giving up were great lessons to pass on in a children's book. Overall, I have nothing bad to say about this and think it'll be a huge hit!

This was such a cute and fun storybook! I loved the illustration style and how the pages with the story were also designed. It felt whimsical. I enjoyed the themes of sibling relationships and determination. The character names are fun too!

Adorable. Love an animal adoption story.

That said, I would have liked to know what happened to the kittens' mama after they were taken from the house.

This is the adorable story of a kitten who is the youngest of her litter, the titular Dizzy Lizzie.

She is born inside an abandoned building, having eight older siblings, whom she loves, but they often don't leave enough milk for her, so when her turn comes, she remains hungry and throws hissy fits. She eventually realizes that she can eat after her older sister, Kimba, falls asleep.

One day, she and her siblings are discovered by some builders and are given away for adoption.
And of course, all of the kittens are sad and afraid and want their mom. But at least the lady at the shelter treats them good and Lizzie doesn't have to wait for her siblings to eat before she does.

As the days pass, Lizzie's siblings are adopted to loving houses, until she and Kimba are the only ones left in the shelter. One day, there comes a lady, wanting to adopt Kimba. Lizzie out of love for her sister and out of fear of being left all alone, thinks about throwing a hissy fit. But she doesn't. Instead, she tries to charm her way into the lady's heart.

The lady initially says that her house is too small and cannot afford a second kitten, despite Lizzie's pleas. But the little one follows her outside, still trying to get on her good side. The lady eventually adopts both of them and the story ends with Lizzie and Kimba moving into a nice and warm home and living their best life with their new mother.

Bonus heartwarming fact: Near the end of the book, there is a photo of the author hanging out with her two cats, Kimba and Lizzie. Because this story was based on true events and it's the story of how those two cats came into the author's life.

Plot-wise and even writing-wise, this book isn't really much. But I like what it tries to do.
One could say that a message that can be taken away from this, is how you can find solutions to your problems when you don't get angry and try to think.

But I think that the biggest message people should take away from this, should be: adopt.
Because animals deserve to have someone who loves them and a safe house to live in. And trust me, they will return your love every possible way you can imagine.

What can I say, I am a softie when it comes to animals!
And by the way, the illustrations were amazing!

This story is pure cuteness! With a lesson in not throwing a hissy fit to try to get your way this is the purrfect storybook for young cat lovers and even old cat lovers.

A sweet story about determination and sibling bonds. Great art (felt a lot like a classic Golden book) and a heartwarming story.

Die-hard cat lovers will enjoy this sweet story about Dizzy Lizzie and her many siblings. As the smallest, Lizzie must fight to get what she wants - until the litter is separated from their mama and even throwing "a hissy fit" doesn't fix the problem. Fortunately, the kittens are raised by a loving "Bottle Lady", and a determined, playful Lizzie proves to a prospective owner that two cats are better than one. Colorful, expressive illustrations add to the charm and cuteness factor.

Unfortunately, Lizzie's love for her (feline) mama is so thoroughly developed in the first half of the story that sensitive children may be upset by their abrupt, forced separation. Even though Lizzie eventually finds a human "mama", the new attachment happens too fast to be completely believable and satisfying.

Dizzy Lizzie, while well illustrated, follows a litter of kittens taken by men away from their mother never to see her again. They are then separated and taught to call a new person (the scarf lady who adopted Lizzie and one of her sisters) mama. This book, while seemingly intended to be a lighthearted, rhythmic read, was anything but. For me it brought up themes of abandonment and separation. This is likely not a book I would read again or recommend unless trying to relate specifically to those topics.

This book was cute and the illustrations added so much to the story. I am an SLP and could see myself using this book to discuss different topics as well as using it to introduce sound effects and the topic of animal adoption.

Disclaimer here - I love cats. So, as soon as I saw this one pop up I knew I had to read it. If you love cats, you definitely should read this cute story. It is about a litter of kittens, but mostly about the runt.

It is a reminder that no matter how big or small you are that you matter and not to ever give up.

Thank you to #NetGalley and #BooksGo Social for the #gifted copy of the book. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I love children's books about cats, and that one was adorable. I especially enjoy the illustrations and the colouring. And I think it teaches children how to cope with everything even though they may be tiny and not very strong. And there is always a place for everyone in this big world.

Dizzy Lizzie is a beautifully written and illustrated book telling the story of the kitten Lizzie and even though she is the smallest kitten of the litter she has determination and never gives up.
I read this book to my 4 year old son and we both loved it.

Thank you to NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for my copy.

Dizzy Lizzie is a sweet children's story that follows precious kitty Lizzie and her litter of siblings from birth to adoption. We always hope that litters can stay together, and in this precious book, Lizzie gets to remain with her favorite kittymate, Kimba. What makes it even more enjoyable, is knowing that Lizzie and Kimba remain together as the author, Kat Erikson's adorable felines. Cute story!

This is really a story for cat lovers, about adopting kittens.
There is no moral that I would actually like to give to my children, my children did not understand why the mama could not be with her kittens always, for them it was just sad. I suppose this is supposed to tell them one day they too will leave, but the fact it's not voluntary is a little problematic. I really do feel the story is just aimed at families with a pet cat. The pictures are very cute and colourful, the text has a rhythm children enjoy, but it is not one I see myself reading more than once.

To begin, the art for this book is extremely charming. I adore the style.

This is definitely a book I would read to my daughter and keep on the shelf, and maybe gift. The story is just long enough, with such a rhythm that it flows nicely. Kids can understand thr story easily.

I've honestly got nothing bad to say about this book!

This book took me on the journey of a frightened yet fierce little kitten and I was intrigued every moment. I will definitely be using this book in my classroom. It has a beautiful story that comes together before the children loose concentration.
