As more and more kindergartens introduce new regulations or close and families across the world follow mandates and try to socially distance themselves to help stop the spread of the coronavirus, parents are scrambling for ideas on how to occupy their children – off the grid. So, if you want to keep the phones, tablets, computers, and gaming systems to a minimum, you can always choose a nice storybook to keep your kids engaged and occupied.
If you have a problem choosing a nice and interesting storybook, let me recommend Dizzy Lizzie by Kat E. Erikson. This picture book is complex and so simple at the same time. The author very skillfully tackles very serious topics such as the importance of family, the pain of separation, and perseverance as important traits of success. And all this is so masterfully reduced to a level where children can easily understand and think critically about all this. The story of the nine little kittens, and especially the part when they’re separated from their mother, is perfectly tailored to influence the emotional development of your little one, as well as to help develop children's empathy for pets. I think this issue is especially important, and every parent should try to develop it from an early age. If we strive to have our children to grow into emotionally and socially responsible people who will have respect and empathy for the animal world, we need more storybooks such as this. The picture book additionally offers children the opportunity to develop an awareness of the importance of humans in the life and well-being of pets.
The witty sentences masterfully convey a very important message. Regardless of the size and appearance, every effort eventually leads to success and if we want to succeed in something, we just have to be persistent and do not give up. This further allows parents to encourage discussion with their little ones and to try to link little Lizzie's persistence and stubbornness with everyday life events.
Dizzy Lizzie is a great choice for any family with preschoolers. The lyrical rhyme, the cute illustrations as well as the interesting story are guaranteed to keep the attention of your kids until the very end of the picture book. And be prepared to reread it once you finish the last lines, your kids will be shouting for more.

Dizzy Lizzie by Kat E. Erikson shares the adventures of a kitten who loses her mom and then one by one her siblings find new homes. Despite this early trauma Lizzie shows great courage. Lizzie's has a happy ending with her sister and a new home.

The theme of resiliency, joy, and hope is clearly apparent. The illustrations are colorful and detailed. My almost four year old loved this book. The sentence length and wait to turn each page was a little much for him, but the pictures definitely retained his interest.

I was provided a free advance reader copy from Books Go Social in exchange for my honest review on Net Galley. The opinions shared in this review are my own.

This book is so cute, I have to say that this book with it's great story about a kitten, Dizzy Lizzy who gets taken from her Mama one day. She watches each one of her siblings get taken to new homes, up until the biggest kitten Kimba is about to be taken away. Dizzy Lizzy realizes she doesn't want to be seperated from everyone, so she learns how to control her fits so she can go home with her sister.

This book really impressed me with the way it gives a cute story to help explain adoption along with the sweet adorable kitties in the illustrations.

Dizzy Lizzie by Kat E. Erikson has a beautiful cover that is bound to draw little one's in. This cute story is written for children between the ages of 4-8, but I think even younger children would enjoy this short story.
This story is about a mama cat and her nine kittens with interesting and unique names. With lyrical rhymes and visual imagery you can see the stubborn determination of Dizzy Lizzie. With beautiful illustrations and a few twists and turns, this book will keep even the wiggliest of children's attention. They will love seeing all the kittens and figuring out what is going to happen next. This story has a great message to children about enduring and not giving up during hard times. Sometimes just a little creative imagination will get us out of our troubles.
I would highly recommend this story for anyone with preschool age children, especially those who love animals. It would be a great addition to preschool libraries and public libraries alike. This book was very well edited and everything flowed smoothly.

What a beautiful story about the life of a kitten! She is the smallest of her litter but she is very determined.
Follows her life as the kittens get seperated from their Mama and when they find their Human Mama.
Lovely story with beautiful illustrations too.

Lizzie almost bit and spit. She almost threw a hissy fit. But she didn't.

Dizzy Lizzie is the smallest kitten and being the smallest she is determined. She doesn't give up and she is learning to control her emotions. You and your kiddos will love Dizzy Lizzie adventures and how she found a forever home.

A special thank you to BooksgoSocial and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest reiew.
