Free ARC from NET GALLEY

You don;t have to read the first one but I think it will help

SPOILERS*********

Rob is still critical and Vladimir brigs Jackie back into play

I think book 1 moved quicker but perhaps it is just that 2 doesn't reach the same level? Still you will like them both in order of course.

Yo will see/hear/read/think of the current so-0called pandemic and it will drive even more questions, not if it is real but rather is it really being handled.

READ ON!!

I am reviewing a copy of The Conspiracy II through BooksGoSocial and Netgalley:

As the virus is spreading quickly across America, Rob heads to Washington DC. Rob has been asked to his vaccine formula with a giant pharmaceutical company.

A Russian agent named Vladimir is also headed to Washington with news for Rob, Jackie is alive.

June of 2020, The Black Lives Matter movement is filling the streets, unfortunately some people want to take advantage of the mayhem. Rob, in search of proof that Jackie is alive, heads for New York. Protests and violence ensue as Rob searches for the truth about what happened to his wife.

Will Rob be able to stop the conspiracy and protect his vaccine from those who want to exploit it?

I give The Conspiracy II four out of five stars!

Happy Reading!

I actually liked this book better than the first of the series. Reading them in order does help understand the characters better. I liked the intrigue, twists and turns. The vaccine is formulated and China, Russia and the US are hounding Rob to be the first to market it. The level they will go to is amazing. And I think most readers will see some of the Covid headlines reflected in the story. I read the book in one sitting. An excellent story.

I enjoyed The Conspiracy I as a well written thriller with a credible and timely plot based on a scientist and his research for a Corona virus vaccine. However I found this sequel a bit repetitive with the scientist spending most of his time trying to find out if his wife was alive or not. As there was no resolution to any of the issues, this felt like a bridging book with a thin plot line and the reader will have to wait for the third book to find out what is really going on. I wish the author had just written two substantial books instead of trying to stretch it to three.

The Conspiracy II is the 2nd book. This time Rob McNeil is trying to produce a vaccine as the virus is spreading quickly. Again the Chinese and Russians are trying to stop him. Another abrupt ending. Maybe The Conspiracy III will make everything clear.

• “This facility no longer exists,” said Vladimir. “IT WILL BE BURNED, BULLDOZED OVER, AND DECLARED OUT OF BOUNDS FOR A PERIOD OF AT LEAST TEN YEAR
• The Conspiracy 2 was written by Laurence O’Bryan. This is the second book in the series. This book was published on Dec 26, 2020.
• This book is filled with Action. You have China vs Russia and The United States, all are trying to cope with Covid 19 and produce a vaccine. A Doctor has created an effective vaccine and these nation-states attempt to influence him and the progress of the vaccine. You will read of heartache, betrayal and so many twists in this story.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. I couldn't stop reading the book after I had begun. I suggest you read the first one so that you can track the characters you read. There are so many intrigue twists that I did not see coming and the end will knock you out as it did me.

On a 5-star assessment system that I use, I give this book 5 stars.

The Conspiracy 2 is the second book in a series about the current Coronavirus pandemic. It is about a doctor who at first believes his wife his dead but later finds out that the Russians have her in captivity to make the doctor work with them. Away from this plot, the doctor from England also works with an American vaccine company to try and get their vaccine available to as many people as possible. As well as the two plots about the doctor, there is also the Russian plot to the story and the Chinese plot. As you can probably tell, this is a very busy book with many plots which the author all brings together fabulously.

I will start by saying that if you possibly can, read the first book before this book. This is the first book in the series I have read and I missed reading the first book and it is clear the first book will give you a lot more information meaning you are not stuck in the middle of a series trying to figure out what is what. The author has combated this problem to try and make it accessible to as many people as possible. This is the first book I have read about the current Coronavirus pandemic and is definitely a book which will be studied in the future for its social-historical context.

I like a few things about this book. Firstly, I like how the author has been able to write a book based on all we have been living through over the past year. He has been able to write about something we are all familiar with like face masks and social distancing but he adds a twist to it. Then going on from this, the plot was good with many twists and turns which combined a variety of countries. Furthermore, I also loved the short chapters as it really helps quicken the pace for tension and I do really like shorter chapters most of the time.

Although there are not many negatives, there are a few. I found at times I was lacking the motivation to read this book before all the action started at the end of the book. It would have been nice if there were more plot twists and that the writer included some cliff hangers and was able to grip the reader a lot more. Being able to grip a reader is an essential skill for authors and although he mastered it towards the end we need to see more throughout the book.

Altogether, this was a good book and I would read the other books in the series excluding the first. I look forward to reading future instalments and seeing how the plot advances, particularly for the doctor who found himself in a difficult situation at the end of the book. As I said, it was good reading about what we are going through with some twists and conspiracies which added to the excitement. Altogether, I rate this book 3 stars making it a good book.

I enjoyed this book, as well as the prior one. Very timely for what's going on in the world these days (as I read this during the Covid-19 pandemic). It has a solid mystery, and there's enough action to keep the reader engaged (more so than the first book in the series). Just a note: the book does end with a cliffhanger.

I read and enjoyed this book very much not realizing it was Book II written by this author. Set in the backdrop of today’s pandemic, it has all a good thriller should—mystery, action, murder, suspense and a whole host of bad guys looking to win. This book defies the adage, fiction is stranger than truth and I look forward to book 3.

Just as the current Pandemic intensifies, so does suspense, tension, and terror in this sequel to THE CONSPIRACY. Truly a political culture in which literally no one can be trusted, and no governing body. One cannot even rely on one's colleagues or government, as backstabbing, deception, assassination, are rife. Meanwhile millions who might have been saved die from Coronavirus because of games-playing interrupting vaccine creation and production; and the almighty profit motive rules all, despite population die-off.

Made possible with NetGalley.com

Overall this book had much more action that the first book. It was fast paced, and there were a few plot twists along the way. I enjoyed it better than the first because of these two reasons. Rob’s obsession with finding out what happened to his wife is more pronounced with in this book. Instead of Jackie being a moral compass for Rob, she’s this unobtainable thing. And people use her for leverage and control, as you would expect. I also happened to notice a few grammar errors and missing words in sentences. Nothing too bothersome, but noticeable when you read it. The book ended on a cliffhanger, seeming as the third book is due to come out at the end of January. With the current COVID vaccines making their rounds, it will be interesting to see how the next book is written. It will also be interesting to see where the story goes with key characters no longer around.
