A big thank you to NetGalley and Stina Lindenblatt for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. I loved this book. I found it humorous, and just plain fun. Have you ever been in an awkward situation with no clean, clear path forward? Well it made me feel for the characters. Logan and Kiera had lots of chemistry, but a few lies between them. Lies just don't pay off! 4 stars Truly enjoyable read. Made me laugh-and we could all use laughter in our lives.

I love Stina Lindenblatt but this was unfortunately not my favorite from her. I did like the writing style and the characters but had a hard time with some of the decisions that were made. I would still recommend the rest of this series though.

A fun read although I did have issues with both Kiera’s and Logan’s secrecy. And I found the middle part of the story dragged. I was quite surprised on how low key Kiera’s reaction was to finding out she was pregnant. My favorite scenes were the cookie making euphemism scene and the ending. I liked how the couple had to work for their HEA, it wasn’t an automatic conclusion. I’m interested in finding out if Eli finds a date for his cousin’s wedding.

A beautifully woven fairy tale! Decidedly with Luck has one twist after another that will keep you on your toes until the last page. I enjoyed being able to see this story from both POV's, and it was hard at times not to yell through the screen of my Kindle, but I truly enjoyed their journey. A great addition to the By the Bay series!

My 2021 reading hadn’t started off on a high note, with several mediocre reads and a couple of DNF reads and then I picked up Decidedly with Luck by Stina Lindenblatt and it was the breath of fresh air I needed. This book has several romance tropes going on including a one night stand with consequences, a secret baby AND secret daddy (yep, it’s kind of a thing in this book), and reunited friends to lovers all giving it these delicious twists and turns and making it a delight to read.

Kiera and Grayson (aka Logan) meet at a masquerade ball, but Logan knows exactly who Kiera is, the girl he had a crush on in college and his old friend’s widow. Kiera has decided she’s through mourning and wants a one night stand with a stranger and she picks Grayson not knowing he’s her college study partner/friend and her late husband’s friend. She insists they keep their masks on and she enjoys every moment of their time together but she lives in San Francisco and he lives in Chicago and she decides it was just a delicious memory to carry with her, until he is traded and into her in a place he never expects and finds out she’s expecting.

This was a very full and busy story, but throughout it Kiera and Logan form a friendship that becomes more, but Kiera is carrying a big secret with her, one she’s afraid is going to bring her entire life crashing down around her.

I loved that Logan was able to be in his young daughter’s life more and it was clear he was a good dad to Livi. That’s not to say he didn’t make mistakes in the past, but he’s working to be better. I enjoyed the relationship he had with his ex-wife and her new husband, it was clear they all put raising Livi first.

Kiera…she was a bit of a trip and she made a lot of mistakes in this book that hurt a lot of people. It wasn’t malicious, she was overwhelmed with the news of her pregnancy, she worried about what everyone would think, she had pregnancy hormones flowing through her and she was a mess. I liked her a lot, I think she was a good person and she was excited about being a mom, but her house of cards came tumbling down big time around her.

Logan and Kiera had chemistry in spades and the fact that they’d liked each other in college but her late husband Stephen made the first move and they did fall in love, but their feelings resurfaced and Logan was excited to be around during her pregnancy and help keep her happy in all ways. I think they were good for one another.

Decidedly With Luck was a breath of fresh air, the writing was crisp, the plot was full of twists and turns but not filled with angst, and the characters were flawed but easy to like. I found it impossible to put this book down and I loved every minute of it.

I really enjoyed this book, fresh, fun and of course, steamy sexy. You simply cannot help to smile and even LOL as you read. Stina is a "new to me" author and one I'll now be adding to my "must ready everything by" list.

I received this Arc for an honest review.
This story or at least the first part of it was in a book titled “Jingle Balls”, in that one you have hockey player Logan Matthews checking in to the lodge where his grandmothers’ ball is being held and sees Kiera Ashdown. She was married to his best friend who passed away a year ago, but they knew each other in college, had classes together yet he was too scared to ask her out and when he introduced her to his best friend everything was over.
Now hoping for a chance, they dance and talk, she wants to be with him only though with masks left on. When he wakes in the morning she is gone. He goes back to Chicago only to find out a little while later he is traded to San Francisco. Where his daughter lives and where Kiera is as well. He is surprised when he finds out that Kiera is his daughter’s teacher. Then they begin to work together on a fundraiser for books for foster children
Kiera ends up pregnant but the different stories she comes up with keeps this story going for you know at some point it will all explode and when the dust settles where will everyone land. He still has not told her he was the man behind the mask as well so can they find themselves back to each other or will all of this wacky story by the end of a friendship and what could have been more? Read this wonderful story and see what happens. A good book with really good characters.

This is my first Stina Lindenblatt book and it was so good! I'm usually not big on the whole secret baby type of story, but this one was done very well.

Told in alternating POV between Kiera and Logan, we get both perspectives on the situation, where they each stand, and how they feel. There's so much happening, I found myself completely immersed in what was going to happen next and how it would end up.

Decidedly with Luck is a cute romance with a couple you want to root for. I loved watching their story unfold, and the steamy scenes were perfection. Would love to read more by Stina!

Hot! What a great story!

After a one night stand at a masquerade ball one year after the death of her husband, Kiera finds herself pregnant with mystery man Grayson's child. However, Kiera does not know that Grayson is really Logan Matthews, a friend of hers and her late husband from their college days.

Logan does not want another relationship, especially having a seven year old daughter from a previous relationship. Kiera tells everyone that the child is here late husbands, because she does not know if "Grayson" wants the child. After finding Logan's daughter playing with her necklace, Kiera realizes that Grayson and Logan are one in the same.

Logan and Kiera are a sweet couple and this story is an endearing love story.

I received an ARC for honest feedback. #netgalley

I love the By the Bay series and I love Kiera and Logan! Did I think it was stupid of Logan to keep his identity from Kiera? Yes. Did I think Kiera would really not put 2 and 2 together and realize Logan was her mystery man? Maybe. Was I rooting for them to come together in the end and live happily ever after? Absolutely!!!
I’m always ready for more from Stina and this was no exception. 5 stars!!!

I really enjoyed this book, my first in the Decidedly series but not my last. While I definitely think Keira needed to be a bit more mature in the way she handled the surprise pregnancy situation, I could help but like her and cheer for her. Logan was so great, as well. I loved the scenes with not only his little girl but his ex as well. Who says every past relationship need to filled with animosity?
While part of a series, Decidedly With Luck can certainly be read on its own, as I did. Ms. Lindenblatt’s characters were engaging and the pace of the book kept me interested from start to finish. I wholeheartedly recommend this read!

2.5 stars. Unfortunately, this was not a great read for me. Decidedly with Luck is book six in the By the Bay series and is Kiera and Logan's book. Kiera met Logan in college and had a crush on him, but soon afterwards met his friend, Stephen, who pursued her hard. They fell in love and got married, with Logan being the best man. But Kiera is left a widow when Stephen passes away. After a few years, Kiera is ready to begin dating, or at least getting herself some. She attends a masquerade ball where she has a one night stand with a mysterious guy named Grayson. Only Logan knows that he is the one she slept with and he lied about his name. Kiera turns up pregnant a few weeks later. Then things get super messy when she lies about who the father is to everyone. Still, Logan supports her as a friend and they add in benefits to their friendship. But he has issues from his previous relationship, because as a professional hockey player, he was too focused on his job and not his marriage or child. What will happen when Logan (and Kiera) find out her baby is actually his?

I am a sucker for a surprise pregnancy book, but I did not like the way this story played out at all. I didn't really love Kiera or Logan. Logan was too laid back and just didn't seem to like Kiera enough to actually be in a relationship with her, until he found out she was having his baby. Kiera lied to everyone she knew for like 80% of the book. She hated disappointing people and feels embarrassed that she got pregnant from a one night stand. So she lies to everyone for the majority of the book, including her dead spouse's parents, her own parents and all of her friends, including Logan, who unbeknownst to her is actually her baby's father! She tells them that she and her husband had planned on doing fertility treatments when he died, and that she went ahead and was artificially inseminated. She lets her ex-parent in laws think they are about to have a grandchild and even finds out the gender for them, when she didn't really want to find out. Logan, for his part, knew they had slept together and never told her, or planned on telling her. So Kiera thinks her baby's biological father is a one night stand named Greyson (Logan's middle name) and she can't find him, even though she barely looked for him. The whole thing was a giant mess, all because she was a doormat who couldn't speak up.

Even without all the lies and miscommunications, the couple lacked chemistry all around. At 70% percent, she's still just a friend in the Logan's mind, even though they were sleeping together. At 90%, we're told they have an incredible three months of falling in love that we do not get to see on page. There was way too much telling and not showing. We never see any love grow between them. Also there were entirely too many uses of the word "horny" and all it's variations, which is just not sexy.

Overall, it was a shame that this book turned out the way it did. I wish that the lies and miscommunications did not last the entire book, so that we could have seen the couple falling in love. I have read a few others from this series and enjoyed them, but this was one just not good for me.

I was really looking forward to this book.
But I’ve got to take a hard pass at the immaturity portrayed by these two main characters.
The lies Kiera tell her in-laws were a deal breaker for me. Someone else may not mind it but I do.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an arc in exchange for my honest review.

You will undoubtedly enjoy Decidedly with Luck by Stina Lindenblatt, once you come to terms with the two main characters being liars by omission. This is the sixth book from the By the Bay series and I have devoured every single one of them. Each book can be read as a standalone.

Kiera Ashdown is a widow and a second grade teacher. She lost her beloved husband a little over a year ago and is finally moving forward in her personal life. Although she is not ready for a romantic relationship, she is open to night of steamy seduction. She ends up in bed with a delicious masked man that she meets at a masquerade ball in Chicago. As a result of their rendezvous, Kiera is pregnant.

Logan Mathews is a talented professional hockey player. He and Keira met in college and subsequently became friends. Logan was also best friends with Keira's late husband way back when. Unbeknownst to Keira, Logan is her masked lover. They rekindle their friendship when Logan gets traded to San Francisco, which evolves into much more. Logan is glad to call San Francisco his new home because his young daughter and his ex-wife reside there.

This story is well-written and the epilogue is wonderful. The author never disappoints and she is an auto-read for me. The plot is based on two huge lies, which caused me to truly dislike both Kiera and Logan. Kiera's lie was unbelievably hurtful to her ex-in-laws, and completely unforgivable. Yet in the end, everyone was one big happy family.

This was a wonderful addition to this series. It stars teacher Keira who lost her husband about 15 months before and now finds herself pregnant by a guy she had a one night stand with at a masquerade ball in the city of Chicago. She lives in San Franscisco.

When she turns up pregnant, she feels awful to say it was a one night stand and she doesn't even know the guy, so she claims it is her now deceased husband. What happens is one big farce after another and I absolutely loved it as Keira's lie gets bigger and bigger and more complicated as parents get involved and friends. It was a laugh riot and I laughed a long with the story as Keira creates a jumbled mess.

Logan and Keira was once best friends until she met her husband and then he and her husband became close friends. Now the husband is dead and she is pregnant and so he tries to be a good friend to her. While at the same time he has a big secret that he needs to share with Keira.

Now he has been traded and is living in the same town with Keira and Logan is a single dad and divorced from his ex. I kinda hated the ex. I felt she was a bit too much in his business and telling him how he should treat Keira. I did love how great Logan is with his daughter and his interactions with Keira when discovers that she is his daughters teacher.

This was a really fun story with lots of humor and lots of great characters with lots of secrets that come out in the story.

I received a free ARC copy of this book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Decidedly with Luck by Stina Lindenblatt is a heartwarming read and I really enjoyed it.

I enjoyed the storyline, it's well written, sweet, romantic and entertaining from start to end.
And I loved watching Kiera and Grayson get their second chance at love.

Overall, Decidedly with Luck one of those reads once you start you don't want to put down.

Not having read anything from Stina Lindenblatt before didn't stop me from requesting the arc. Because the blurb already had me chuckling. And indeed, Stina doesn't disappoint: the whole story starting with Oops and it Oops all through the book.
Kiera is determined to start fresh after being widowed for almost a year. So her friend convinces her to have a one night stand to get her sexlife back on track. But she didn't factor in that this one night stand, at a masquerade ball, would result in a big Oops: being pregnant. And lying about it to your parents: another big Oops. And that Oops leads to the next and the next...
The story becomes really hilarious and funny, so I would suggest you dive in and enjoy the Oops-factor on this one. I certainly did. Four out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

After the first 25-30 pages, I was ready to give up. The dialogue was juvenile and the story seemed to just ramble on, jumping all over the place. Then suddenly everything began to come together. The characters began to develop and the story hit a steady flow. The plot was still a little unrealistic but getting better. But then it seemed the author just could not let the story end. It went on and on and on until I just wanted to throw my hands in the air and say "I give".
A more realistic storyline and less unnecessary filler would have made this a good HEA.

This is a ;lovely sweet romantic comedy that I thoroughly enjoyed as it was just sheer escapism and the perfect read for me when i didn't want angst and drama

Keira recently lost her husband and decides she will have a night of passion with a total stranger so she can get on with her life and a masked ball is the perfect opportunity. There is just a few things she doesn't know the man she slept with actually is a fried who she has known for years and when she finds she is pregnant she keeps it quite. Logan was her husbands former roommate and has been in her life for quite a while and now he is in there even more as he has moved back to town and his daughter is in Keira's class he thinks she is pregnant with her dead husbands child. Can these two untangle the web of deceit they have both spun and admit they have feelings for one another and will they have a future together
