3.5⭐️ – Share the Moon is an unusual story and yet a pretty traditional romance at the same time.

When she died, Nora left her vineyard to her partner Kate and to her niece Jamie. Both women, along with Jamie’s best friend Kali, live on the premises and do their best to keep the vineyard going, including by branching out and hosting lesbian weddings. For as long as they remember, the vineyard has been haunted by a friendly ghost, whom they believed to be a teenage boy until the ghost introduced herself to Jamie as Ruth, a young woman.

As far as I can tell, this is Toni Logan’s debut novel. As often happens in first books, it sometimes feels as if Logan had too many stories to tell at the same time. The main story is a romance between Jamie and Ruth and Jamie’s efforts to right the wrong done to Ruth. In the background is Kate’s grief over Nora’s death and in the background of the background are Kali’s attempts at not sabotaging what looks like a perfect relationship with the woman of her dreams. Each of these storylines deserves its own book, especially Kate’s.

Besides, I’m all for sweet lesbian ghosts (it’s the main reason I wanted to read this book) and I love how supportive Kate and Kali are of Jamie’s relationship with Ruth but it’s almost too normal. Even Victoria, Kali’s girlfriend, who hasn’t had a lot of time to come to terms with the idea of hanging out with a ghost, doesn’t seem terribly fazed when she meets Ruth for the first time. Sure, she says it’s weird to have dinner with a dead person but that’s all. This story raises interesting interrogations though: what is the afterlife like? Is it the same for everyone? Why was Ruth held back? Where did Nora go?

I rather enjoyed reading Share the Moon but it left me feeling somewhat frustrated. It’s sweet and quite well-written, however, so I’ll keep an eye out for Logan’s future novels.

So here’s the thing. I’m not really one for ghost stories but I wanted to give this book a chance with an open mind. First, when I opened the book, I noticed that the length of the book was short. Second, that was confirmed when Ruth was running her fingers through Jaime’s hair by page 15. Talk about moving fast!! Because the book was so short, the story moved really fast and the characters fell in love almost immediately. Also, there was too much going on with the other characters and their storylines. There wasn’t enough space to give enough development to everyone. However, I did enjoy the ending and would read another book from Ms. Logan because I see the potential.

Jaimie Carr inherited a vineyard from her late aunt and it is here where she lives with her best friend and her late aunt's lover. Ruth has been stuck in the vineyard for over a century and when Jaimie is alone outside one night, Ruth decides it is time to introduce herself to the intriguing woman.

I knew what I was getting into once I read the summary of the book. a romance between a human and a ghost? umm ok... different but I was intrigue to see where the author would take this. And ... I actually don't know what happened or how the story ended as I could not finish the book.

I thought the writing was fine, I just didn't really get into the story. I thought the characters were too exaggerated.... The beginning of the book made me even a bit uncomfortable and I read BDSM books. It was just a bit far fetched, I guess; in my personal opinion.

I know this was a first time author and I will definitely read her next since her writing is good.

Oh this story is a romance for all. So endearing and full of wonder, you will wish you could have a love like Jamie and Ruth. It is a one sitting read. You will love it and share with your friends.

This book has a bit of a weird premise (falling in love with a ghost), but this is actually what piqued my interest. It’s a debut novel and it was an OK read for me, there were some issues. I think, in the end, the author wanted a little bit too much. I liked the writing and creativity though, so I’m interested in reading another book by Logan.

The story is set at a vineyard were Jamie, Kate (Jamie’s aunt’s widow) and Kali (Jamie’s best friend) live. But, the vineyard has a fourth resident; ghost Ruth. Ruth is frequently seen and accepted by the residents, but nobody has actually talked to her (they actually think Ruth is a boy). Until Ruth decides to talk to Jamie, the two get to know each other and Jamie finds herself quickly attracted to Ruth. I really enjoyed their conversations and Ruth’s history. I was surprised by the description of Ruth, who could appear as a solid body, was able to feel (physically and emotionally) and could eat and drink. This is up to the creativity of the author (and kudos for that), but some of her physiology did not make sense to me (if food and drink do not affect her in any way, then why can drugs?).
Strangely enough did I not find the connection between Jamie and Ruth weird, it was actually very sweet, but the way her friends reacted to it baffled me. They had never spoken to Ruth, but seemed to find the connection between Jamie and Ruth the most normal thing in the world and kept encouraging Jamie into a relationship with Ruth. This could have benefited from a more substantial introduction.

Another thing was the fact that there is so much going on in this book. While I really enjoyed some of the storylines, I think there was enough to fill two or three books. We get backstories of all 4 mains (Jamie, Ruth Kali and Kate), more than one romance, the daily things happening at the vineyard, and at the end there is even some suspense and an angsty moment. Take into consideration that this is in fact a pretty short book (~150 pages on my reader) and you see my point. Because of this, many things were glossed over and the romance was too much insta-love and the development of the characters lacked depth. This is a shame because I really enjoyed reading the backstories of all characters and getting to know them.

I liked the writing style and the premise, the story was sweet with a bit of angst, but it was lacking in focus and depth. There is certainly potential and I’m curious what Logan’s next book will bring.

Let me start by saying that I must have skipped over a few words in the blurb, or my mind just blocked them. Had I seen one of the mains is starting a relation with a ghost I would have passed on this one. This is just not my cup of tea.

Jamie lives on a vineyard with her best friend Kali and Jamie’s aunt’s widow Kate. Kate and Jamie inherited the vineyard when Nora died. The land is known to have resident ghost who Kate and Nora named Charlie, they thought it was a boy. When the ghost shows itself to Jamie it turns out it is a woman named Ruth. Ruth was murdered over a 100 years ago. Jamie and Ruth have this sort of insta-love relationship, which is all the more weird to me seeing as one of them is a ghost. A host that actually can touch and feel and eat and drink, almost like a real person. Meanwhile, Kali has also found a new love interest, or in her case maybe more a lust interest. Kate is still grieving but might have found someone she connects with as well. There is an angst moment around the 80%, because of course there is (insert eye roll), but it is just so weird I don’t even know what to think.

Overal I would say this just isn’t for me. When someone has a relationship with a ghost and everyone also just thinks yeah ok this is normal I am out. Aside from this not being for me there are some other issues as well. The biggest issue is there are basically three couples in this book just starting their relationship, Jamie and Ruth get the most attention, but the others are there as well, but even as a side story they are just not enough. There is a lot of potential for especially Kali’s relationship and character development, but there is too much happening off the page or just skipped over. Everything just isn’t enough, it’s just missing the mark. And insta-ghost-love, I really don’t need to read about this... not to mention ghost sex, I mean, I just can’t deal with that...

I had my doubts about this book but was curious to see how a human Jaime would have a bond/ love with Ruth a ghost. However I quite enjoyed the story has it was beautifully written. I would recommend this unique book. 4 stars.

A unique romance that involves three couples. On a small vineyard in northern California live Jamie, Kate and Kali. Nora the love of Kate's life has passed away and we see parts of their relationships in lovely flashbacks. Nora left the vineyard to Kate and niece Jamie. They have worked hard to make the grapes profitable and are trying to become an event venue for weddings etc. Kali, a friend of Jamie's, meets Victoria an events coordinator and she happens to look like the girl of her fantasies. Jamie's love interest is Ruth. Ruth is a ghost whose spirit has been tied to the land for over 100 years.

There is much to like in each of the couples but in a short book I felt like everything was insta love. I missed seeing any of the relationships develop. The most interesting is Ruth. She is a ghost that can touch, feel, move things, eats and drinks (although she doesn't need nourishment). Everyone accepts and welcomes her as normal for the first time in her experience. There isn't an explanation of why she is trapped and hasn't moved on to an afterlife. I am guessing it is to find love with Jamie but it isn't stated or explained. There were some very sweet moments, like a surprise for Ruth. And the ending was exciting. But overall I think the story tries to do too much for too many storylines. It was an okay read but I wasn't invested in the relationships because my time with them was too brief. I would definitely try another book from this author. This was an okay adventure when I was hoping for more.

Jamie inherited the vineyard from her aunt Nora and now lives on the land with her best friend Kali and Nora's partner Kate. To boost business, Jamie and Kali are in the process of expanding the services and offering their property as a wedding venue.
Ruth is a ghost who has spent many years at the vineyard and is very familiar with its residents. Jamie and Ruth bond and become closer.
I liked the idea of the book and was curious how Toni Logan would stage a potential love story between a human and a ghost. Unfortunately, in my eyes, it fell a bit short, and the issue of one of them being a ghost made for relatively little of a problem. All in all, it was a solid story.

I was sceptical about this one and intrigued at the same time. But I have to say that I really did enjoy it. It was just so unique. How they were just accepting Ruth and the fact that she watched Jamie grow up. That was so cute. So I would definitely recommend if you want to read something you have not before and something for the heart. Thanks a lot

I really wanted to like this book because I found the plot oddly intriguing but I just didn’t. I was fine with Ruth being a ghost who is stuck on the land where she’s murdered and can eat, drink, and feel real, but the characters were really flat. Ruth and Jamie all of a sudden had feelings and then were in love but there was no explanation or relationship of any kind. Also. If they live, own, and work on a vineyard I’d have like to have more details about the winemaking process or even descriptive details about the scenery. I will definitely give this author another try but this one just wasn’t for me.

Jamie inherited a struggling vineyard from her Aunt Nora with the help of her best friend Kali and her aunt partner Kate decides to restore it.

Jamie always heard about the ghost that reside on her land and her aunts always thought the ghost was a boy that they name Charlie imagine Jamie surprise when the ghost decides to speak to her is a woman name Ruth who was murder and been stuck there and doesn’t know why.

Jamie and Ruth get to know each other even though Ruth knows her since she was a child they used to play together. They both realize they are falling for each other. This was good read I like that it had two love stories with Jamie and Ruth and Kali and Victoria even like how everyone just accept that Ruth a ghost. Even though I like this read I felt it was unfinished in a way we don’t get why Ruth could never cross over or even leave beyond the land. I mean if your trying to say she was destined to stay because she was meant for Jamie I would had like to read that was the reason and if so she could’ve came back to life.
