I enjoyed this book and the new ideas I learned. I have heard of mental healing through journaling but learning about physical health was new for me. The book is easy to read and was very helpful.

This book is a fantastic way to encourage people to journal more consistently. As a lifelong journaler, it inspired me to be more intentional in the things I write and the memories I want to preserve. It's also perfect for the beginner, who feels overwhelmed and isn't sure where to start. Great book!

JOURNALING POWER by Mari L. McCarthy

Since I dabble in a journal each and every day, I thought I'd give JOURNALING POWER a try and see if it would help put more of "me" into my daily scratchings.

The author has great insight into healing your body and your mind through writing. She leads you through the common pitfalls that line the road to wellbeing. She gives you tips for journaling daily so you can change your habits gradually and improve yourself.

Highly recommend.

Sincerely grateful to #netgalley for the complimentary copy of #journalingpower I was under no obligation to post a review.

I am new to journaling and this is such a good informative book. The journaling prompts were very helpful. And learning the benefits both physically and mentally from journaling. I think this is a great book to read no matter what your journaling habits may be.

This book wasn't really for me. It's a terrible shame that this wasn't available for review in pdf form. So much about these types of books is about the aesthetics, and unfortunately all of that is always lost with the kindle format. If this was presented in a friendlier format, I may have liked it a lot more.

The prompts were the best part but I felt there was a bit too much from the author and her story, for me personally. I also much prefer a self-contained guided journal. I don't know why having to use an external book to write in bothers me, but it does.

This is an interesting book designed to help one take more control of their wellbeing through journaling.
The author shares her own experiences and the benefits that she herself found by the journal and how it can make one focus on ones wellbeing.
I will be interested to implement some of these practices and look forward to seeing the benefits. I would be remis if I didn't express some doubt that this will benefit me but I have a journal, I have this book and I have hope..

This book is the body of proof that writing can help you heal. Author Mari L. McCarthy, founder and Chief Inspiration Officer of CreateWriteNow.com shares her story about how she turned to journaling as therapy when she was diagnosed with MS. Forced to give up her thriving consulting career due to her symptoms, she turned to writing as a way of retaking control over her movements. Not able to use her right hand any longer, she worked daily on becoming ambidextrous through journaling exercises. Soon her body, and mind, responded to this therapeutic discipline even helping her let go of treatments and drugs and eventually cancelling her health insurance altogether. This book was received as an ARC from BooksGoSocial in exchange for an honest review. Opinions and thoughts expressed in this review are completely my own.

There have been many reviews where I started with I really needed this book right now but this one could not have come at the best time. We all know how wonderful it feels to express your thoughts through journaling and the relief you get once you finally get them off your chest. This journal is a guided journal that helps get the negative feelings out and replace them with positive feelings to give you strength to get on with your life. I know there are so many feelings bottled up that will stay in and cause stress and discomfort emotionally and spiritually unless you get them out in the open and this book was just perfect for that. In addition, Mari shares her personal story that always adds that extra personal touch that is sure to attract a lot of readers.

We will consider adding this title to our R Non-Fiction collection at our library. That is why we give this book 5 stars.

As an avid journaler, I already was aware that journaling has many benefits. It is also something that I always like to learn more about.

This book has a lot of very, very good journaling prompts and exercizes. I started using some of them, and plan on using them all - which says a lot, because usually I am very picky when it comes to journaling promts and exercizes. It partly being a memoir made it feel personal, and there are quite some good sources and studies noted.

The only downside to this book is, I think, that it throws around the webpage and business of the author around way too much, turning a great book into a kind of ad sometimes. At certain parts the site was mentioned in every other sentence ... However, if you can work through that and put it aside, it is a real gem.

*Also realize that the author made some choices that are not for everyone. It is stated in the book that this is the case. To me the idea of not having health insurance while having a progressive disease is daunting, but then I come from a place where health care is put up very differently than it is in the US.

One of the things that I made a resolution for this year was to find some happiness within me. I’ve been lost since having kids, and the stress from 2020 really showed me how much I had strayed from my dreams. Like a beacon of light, this book came across my Kindle that is a great starting point.

So what should I do to find my happiness again? Enter Journaling Power by Mari McCarthy. This book discusses how the process of journaling can help you discover things about yourself you never knew. This book is the ultimate starters kit, by providing the what (journal, journal, journal!), the how (exercises to help you get started), testimonials from people who have tried it, and also some scientific studies that were done on the art of journaling and its power to heal your body.

One part of the book discusses how it can heal you and help certain medical conditions feel better. I was a bit skeptical about this, but reading some of the science did make sense. I’m going to take the approach here of “don’t knock it until you try it.” And trying it starts today! I have completed my daily pages and will do more again tomorrow until this becomes a habit. I used to keep a diary in college – I think this is a great time to start journaling!

Want to try to find some happiness within you but don’t know where to begin? Give this book a try!
