This is the second instalment in the Det. Madison Harper series, and I can honestly say that it is as addictive as the first!
This story picks up where the last one ended; Madison and Nate are making there way to Colorado to investigate the murder of Madison’s ex-partner. Madison is eager to clear her name after being framed for a murder she didn’t commit, and to find her son who was taken into care by Child Services.
This story is packed with twists which are both shocking and add to the tension. The sense of not knowing who to trust is tangible as the body count rises.
Having lived in South West Colorado, I was interested to see Wendy’s interpretation of small-town living and the joys of the high desert plateau. In all honesty, although Lost Creek is a fictional town, I fully sensed the mood of the area and was transported back.
The partnership of Madison and Nate has continued in this book, yet the power seemed to have shifted with Madison taking the lead in this case. It was good to see this relationship develop and a change in the literary driver’s seat was a good aspect.
Of course, Brody the cadaver dog plays a hero’s role and continues to notch up his good boy points.
As I mentioned, I found this book to be addictive; I struggled to put it down and felt like I was missing out by going to sleep. There are few authors who can carry the mood of a book from one instalment to the next, but Wendy absolutely nails it!

Madison is returning home for two purposes- to lay her ex girlfriend to rest and to find some answers. Her return isn’t met positively and also takes place just as a teenage girl loses her life. How will this tie into Madison’s quest for answers? Well, you quickly find out that this case hits closer to home than anyone could have expected.

Madison went into all of this convinced that she had some idea as to who had set her up. Unfortunately for Madison, the truth is much worse than she could have ever expected.

While this book provided much needed closure for Madison, I look forward to book three hopefully doing the same for Nate. He’s come a long way but he still has a great distance to go.

This book was just as great as the first Madison Harper book. Dranfield is great at keeping you on your toes. I read a lot of mysteries that are predictable, but this series is not that. I was unable to put Cry for Help down!

6 words is all that's necessary for this review --> WHEN IS BOOK 3 COMING OUT?

Aboslutely LOVED everything about this second book the Madison Harper series. Kept me guessing right up to the end. Non-stop from page one.

This is a must read series!

Thank you #netgalley and #bookouture for the opportunity to read another great book by #wendydranfield.

Yes, yes, yes! Highly anticipated book! It did not disappoint, not at all. Back on the road with Madison, Nate, and Brody, and it’s a bumpy road for sure. Madison is back in her hometown, the hometown that turned its back at her. And... she is not welcomed back. Things immediately take several bad turns, and it’s a big mess. Madison is however determined to right the wrongs, and to prove she was set up. The town is upset by what seems to be a suicide, a murder, and Madison’s comeback. I read it in one sitting, because there really was no other option.

I love it! So many people I despise, a great lead character with a terrific backstory, and old secrets. What’s not to like? Madison’s family is way more messed up than I could ever have imagined. It just makes the story so much more special. I can’t even begin to imagine what someone like her have gone through in life. She’s not even fueled with revenge, she just wants to find out the truth, and for the people behind it all to face the truth. She also wants her son back. Powerful!

If I would have to sum this book up in one word it would be superb. Luckily I don’t have to stick to one word, because one simple word could never give justice to this book. It’s well-written, has so many angles and twists, and it’s pretty close to being perfect! Much respect! I hope this series continues forever. This thrilling and extraordinary book should be read by every detective book lover. Can’t wait for the next one. Madison is a winner, and so is Wendy!

Thanks NetGalley, #BookOuture and the most talented Wendy Dranfield for the opportunity to read this book.
I was lucky enough to read the first Detective Madison Harper book ( Find My Child).. and I was instantly hooked and wanted more of Madison, Nate and the one and only Brody.
First of all, best thing ever, Wendy Dranfield promised that book 3 and 4 are on their way..yay 🙌
I believe I wasn't that excited about a thriller series since Rachel Caine's Stillhouse Lake which unfortunately ended by book 5 ( Heartbreak Bay ) after she sadly passed away.
Book 2 starts right after book 1 ends with our odd pair heading to Madison's old town searching for her long lost son. I literally couldn't put it down it was insanely engaging.
As much as I loved, Madison, Nate and Brody there were other characters that I truly disliked and wanted to hit them by the book.
You wouldn't figure out what happened till the very end.
Fantastic book! I will be writing a more detailed review on my blog on the blog tour.

Loved the first book but this one is even better, and i loved how more alive the characters seem to be in this one as well, and it seemed even more twisted then i was hoping for.
And the suspense had me setting on tbe edge of my set all the time I was reading it,

I cannot get enough of this series, Cry for Help is a spellbinding read. It isn't action packed with event spilling into the next, without giving much pause to absorb all the occurrences. I absolutely do not what to spill any of the good stuff this book is packed with. All I can say is there are many surprises that will leave readers astonished and the evilness and perniciousness of some characters is shocking. Will Madison be redeemed? You have to read and you will want to read to find out. My two favorite characters are of course, Brody, the lovable police dog, and Richie, who isn't thwarted by jerky cops. I read this book in just a matter of hours. I can't wait for he next installment to hopefully learn more about Nate.

Cry For Help picks up immediately after the first book left off (and don't worry, you can jump right into this second book and read the first one later). Madison and Nate are heading to Colorado to bury (and look into the death of) Madison's former partner, Stephanie. When they arrive, they are also stunned by the news that a young girl, Nikki, has been murdered at a local amusement park. Madison's return rattles many cages within the police department, especially after she announces that she's also looking for her son and to clear her name. With Nate along to provide guidance, and a fabulous new character, lawyer Richie Hope (and that may or may not be his real name), Madison goes full force into the investigation of Stephanie's death, as well as searching for Owen, This is a fantastic new series to get invested in! Well written and so much fun to read!

This book was fantastic, I loved book one in the series and this was just as good or even better. It was so full of tension and angst it really kept me wanting to read more. I sat down to read this with my breakfast and didn’t stop until I had finished, I was completely invested in the story. I really enjoyed this book it is totally worthy of 5 stars.

A can’t put down book!
Cry For Help by Wendy Dranfield is certainly a enthralling read.
There is so much going on, you don’t have time to stop reading. I read late into to the night because I just had to know what the ending was going to be.
The main characters, Madison, takes you on a roller coaster ride of suspense and thrills. . Her backstory is heartbreaking to read about.
If you are a fan of police procedurals, you definitely will like this book.
I cannot wait to read the next book in the series! And, get more books written by Wendy Dranfield.
Many thanks to NetGalley, Bookouture and author,Wendy Dranfield, for the opportunity to read this book for my honest opinion. All opinions expressed are my own.
