When local cheerleader, Laurie Turner, goes missing and her pick-up truck is found abandoned by the side of a quiet road, Detective Jenna Alton and David Kane are on the case but are too late to save her. With another cheerleader missing, can Alton and Kane be able to save her or will they run out of time ?

Be Mine Forever by D.K.Hood is the 11th book in the police procedural Alton and Kane series. I love this addictive series with great lead characters, well thought out plots with twists and turns and excellently paced writing . Looking forward to reading the next one .

I would like to thank Bookouture & NetGalley for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest and fair review.

Author D.K. Hood never fails to showcase the most depraved of crimes & criminals in her books. This installment of the series is no different. It's chillingly tense & nerve wracking. This whodunnit kept me reading late into the night & early into the morning. A psycho couple on the loose in Black Rock Falls has the entire department working their backs off especially because the victims were so young. Jenna & Kane are a dream team working these cases to put the killers that plague this idyllic town behind bars for good. Yes, the novels are fantastical in a sense that its not statistically possible to have so many serial killers making this one town in Montana their hunting grounds & the 'technology' also seems a bit too far fetched, BUT i somehow still like all the books including this one. They're atmospheric & absolutely nail biting. I love the plots & how they unravel but above all I love the characters! I love how every book manages to capture every shade of psycho. And so many more remain *evil laughs
Thank you NetGalley, Bookouture & D. K. Hood for this arc!

This is my first time reading a book in this series, when I requested it from NetGalley I had no idea it was part of a series so was quite nervous to be starting a book so deep into a series.

This did not matter, by the end of the book I still felt completely connected to the characters, glad they were all ok and proud for cracking such a hard case.

This book was exceptionally written, it was quite a slow burner – it didn’t exactly keep me on the edge of my seat but it kept me hooked enough to want to continue to read and I NEEDED to find out who was at the forefront of the killings.

I guessed pretty early on who I thought was behind the killings and was correct, BUT the way the author wrote the book I was constantly in doubt that I was wrong. There were always numerous suspects and was not really given away much as to why they were.

This was a great read and will definitely look into backtracking and reading the rest of the series.

Back to my favourite place of Blackrock Falls despite their roaring magnetism for all things serial killer….hard to believe it’s the 11th book and I never tire of them, each one better than the last which is a mean feat in itself! Kane & Alton are on the hunt for a serial killer targeting cheerleaders and with the body count rising, can they get ahead of the killer…. Again another one that had me from gripped from the first page to the last, plenty of twists and turns along the way to keep you guessing. I love this series and have a serious book crush on Kane and what I wouldn’t give to try the grub in Aunt Betty’s!! Keep them coming!

Another fantastic read in the series. They never disappoint. Lots of twists and turns and just as gripping as always . Can't wait to read more!

Laurie Turner, a high school cheerleader, didn't make it home after a run. Her truck is found abandoned by the side of the road. Her body is later found at the bottom of an old mine shaft.

Laurie won't be the only cheerleader who disappears.

Detective Jenna Alton begins her investigation with a interview with her family. When Laurie's father seems to know nothing about her ... not when she went missing .. not she was wearing ... doesn't know her friends. He just seems .. disinterested.

Turning to Laurie's fellow students she finds that there are plenty of people who want to silence the cheerleaders forever.

And then someone close to Jenna falls victim to the murderer.

As with all the books in this series, this is well-written with an intriguing plot and compelling story line. This one is just a tad different, as a new Deputy is introduced and at the same time, bringing back some old FBI friends. I appreciate how this series has not grown stale and always holds the readers' attention.

The characters are solidly drawn and I really enjoy the blend of the professional lives with the personal. I like how they all interact with each other. The suspense starts from the first page and escalates until the unexpected conclusion.

Although 11th in the series, this is easily read as a stand alone, as are each of the books. The author has made sure to include enough information so that you don't get lost, but nothing that would take away the enjoyment of reading prior books.

Many thanks to the author / Bookouture / Netgalley for the digital copy of this crime fiction. Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

Jenna and Dave were back along with the killer's who were targeting cheerleaders. As the body count raised, they knew they had to work fast to get to them.

Another brilliant book by author D. K. Hood, I loved being right in the middle of the investigation, not that I could guess the killers. The author kept me in the darkness right through.

The team worked cohesively through the twists and turns, and it was complete fun right till the end.

I can’t believe that this is the eleventh book in the series featuring Sheriff Jenna Alton and Deputy Dave Kane and their life in Blackwater Falls. The victims in this latest book are cheerleaders at the local high school. The book opens with Laurie finishing her cheerleaders practice. On returning to her pickup she finds that it won’t start and as she has smashed her phone earlier she decides to walk home. A car stops to pick her up, it is someone she knows but after accepting the life she is strangled from behind from a person in the back of the car and they then dump her body. Laurie’s father reports her missing the next morning which prompts a search of the area by Jenna, Dave and their team. They find her pickup but it appears to have been sabotaged and when her body is discovered later they are shocked by the brutality of the killing. As more girls are murdered they realise that the killer or killers are targeting the cheerleaders team. Jenna and Dave are then in a race against time to find the killers before they strike again. All the familiar faces on their team are back plus a new deputy. This is a brilliant series of books, every book full of twists and turns. A highly recommended series.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

This time around, cheerleaders are disappearing and meeting terrible ends. It would be easy to insert a joke in here about easy targets or something, but it would be too flippant. The author manages to take a cliché and turn it into a serious case. If you’ve read any of the books, you already have a feeling for how Kane and Alton work together, and this case is no exception. But that doesn’t mean that it’s boring or run-of-the-mill. I really enjoy the relationship that they have built with each other. It can be read as a stand-alone. But with this number of books in the series, you’d certainly do yourself a load of favors by starting at the beginning. For a detailed review, please visit Fireflies and Free Kicks. Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for a digital ARC of the book.

This is the second book i read in this series and it was excellent.
It's a gripping and highly entertaining story that kept me hooked and turning pages as fast as I could.
The character and plot development are excellent, the setting is interesting and the complex mystery, full of twists and turns, kept me guessing.
I can't wait to read the next book, this one is strongly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

It's the Fall Festival in Blackwater Falls and a cheerleader from the local high school has been murdered. It seems she was targeted after practice; her car and phone had been disabled and someone she trusted gave her a ride but she didn't get home. Sheriff Alton and Deputy Kane lead their investigating team and are pleased to have a new deputy, Zac Rio, there to help. Then another cheerleader is killed and Deputy Rowley's pregnant wife Sandy is injured by one of the killers. The scant clues left leads the team to believe that two people are responsible, one male and one female, but no further clues to their identities are found.

I've read all the books in this series and thoroughly enjoyed them all - look forward to book number 12.

Thanks to Netgalley, Bookouture and D K Hood for the ARC of this book in return for an honest review.

This was my second book of 2021 in this series and it was just as delicious as the first.

Was great to check in with the crew again and see what mischief they've gotten themselves into.

A cheerleader doesn't make it home from practice, (safe to say she won't be needing her pom poms anymore) but how many in the squad will succumb to the same fate before the predator is caught!

Another cracking addition to this mind blowing series. An intense and gruesome plot the will have you holding your breath till the very end.

As with the last book my only questions is when can I read the next?

Laurie's phone is broken and her car won't start so she is grateful when a friend offers her a lift home. But she is attacked from the back seat, leading Sheriff Jenna Alton and Deputy Dave Kane to face another murder case as cheerleaders are kidnapped and killed.
Be Mine Forever is the 11th book from DK Hood to feature Alton and Kane, although it would work perfectly well as a stand alone novel. The case is just as good as the others, with plenty of drama and action for our lead characters. The already strong team is added to in this book with the arrival of Zac Rio who has an incredible memory and no doubt this will help solve cases!
The whole book is written in the third person, with the majority of the plot delivered from the police perspective. We do also see chapters from the killers and victim which gives us clues to their identity, motives, and in the case of the latter, terror. The writing is absolutely compelling, the drama is relentless and I find myself genuinely caring about the main characters.
As well as the main murder plot, we have additional subplots including one involving Laurie's father and his estranged wife, and another where Jenna needs to stand up against spousal abuse. There is also the personal subplot surrounding the potential for romance between Kane and Alton which continues to simmer. However, it is clear that their secret pasts will continue to get in the way (keeping my fingers crossed that things finally move forward in book 12 based on the final chapter...!)
Be Mine Forever was a fab new instalment to the Alton and Kane series and I look forward to the next book.

Local Cheerleader goes missing on her way home from practice .
Detective Jenna Alton and Dave Kane and their team are called in to help find her.
But a call tells them that someone has found a body in a mine and it is the body of the cheerleader Laurie Turner.
Then another cheerleader is killed they think the killer is connected to the cheerleaders and football team.
Can they find the killer before they strike again and another cheerleader is killed.

Bejeezus! D. K. Hood can write a cracking opener but this one takes the biscuit so far!! Of course walking home in your own in the dark, you’d get into a car driven by a familiar face. You’d be stupid not to…. that’s unless you live in Black Rock Falls!!

“Living in Black Rock Falls is a delight as well as a curse.”

Yes the dynamic duo of Dave Kane and Jenna Alton are back with their amazeballs supporting cast. And there is a new addition to the team too… Zac Rio! Will this city boy be up to the trials of Black Rock Falls?? Only time will tell.

Anyhow, this time round, some dastardly persona is targeting the school cheerleading squad. Yes we have someone who really hates the peppiness (is that a word) of the cheerleaders … I’ll admit, there are days I can’t stand the cheeriness of others but not enough to bump them off… no I’d have reasons but not for their cheery disposition…

Hood has yet again created a tense crime thriller that jumps between the investigation and insights into the villainous mind of a killer. I don’t know how this woman keeps coming up with new and creative ways of killing her victims without it feeling like a replica of something she’s done previously or something someone else has done. I don’t actually care because I love this series and it just gets better with each book. Please don’t stop!! #KaneAndAltonAddict

Author tells a harrowing tale about some thrill kills happening in this small town. It’s hard to believe that we are on book eleven of this series. Seems like the last book I read in it was book four.

What did I like? Author keeps killers hush hush until final chapters so no need to worry about figuring it out too soon. Alton and Kane seem like a dynamic duo and I couldn’t help but feel there is more to these two. Maybe someday I’ll go back and read the whole series but this book is an easy stand alone.

Would I recommend or buy? Yes, and it’s a pretty great series that I wish I had time to go back and read all eleven. I’d recommend to anyone who likes a thrilling mystery set in a small town. Five stars. Really enjoyed it!

I received a complimentary copy to read and voluntarily left a review.

What a ride! Absolutely fantastic!! In this book, D.K. Hood introduces a brand new Deputy, while bringing back some old FBI friends! We find it what's next after Rowley and Sandy got married! We see a bit of how Emily had grown (in regards to becoming an M.E.) from the other books in the series, however there's much less of her (and her sisters) in this book. While Wolf the M.E. is still around, he's not a major player in this book.
This time the craziness is happening to High School Cheerleaders, during a festival!! This book is fast paced, when you think you know "who-dun-it" something changes your mind to a new suspect. Will the pompoms lead them to the killer? Jenna getting physical to prove herself, and Kane (and the deputies) standing down per her request! Love the setup for future books, Rio, tracking chips, Carter, Jo, Jo's daughter, twins, Emily's future as an M.E., the possibilities are endless.
D.K. Hood, you keep me wanting more!! Can't wait for book #12!!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
