A nice story of finding love when least expecting it.
Two opposites meet and their romantic story begins. A sweet small town story

The perfect small town romance. Both the town and the couple had sweet charm and heart, and I fell in love with both. I laughed out loud at some of the (very relatable) parenting things that Aaron, the hero, goes through, and thought that he and heroine were perfect for each other. It has all the elements anyone who loves small town romances would expect and enjoy.

Sweet Bliss is the first book I have read by this author, and the beginning book in a new series. I enjoyed the small town of Harper Landing. For me, the read was a quick one, as I devoured this sweet, heartfelt romance. Not without some small-town drama. Julia comes from the towns founding family, is a shop owner and landowner in town. Her mother’s mismanagement of raising her and running the family legacy puts Julia in a pickle. Her mother's voice in her head is the reason for her self doubts.

Aaron is a Silicon Valley millionaire who has relocated to Harper Landing to raise his orphaned infant nephew near his grandparents. His knowledge of raising Jack is coming from books and the pediatrician.
Both live with insecurities about their roles; are they truly happy? Aaron and Julia quickly develop a friendship; will it become more?

I recommend this book, as it is not your typical romance. Nothing is predictable in the beautifully written story.

Thank you to NetGalley and Montlake for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

This review will go to Goodreads about June 13, 2021, and Amazon on Release Day July 13, 2021.

Cutest meet-cute! Exactly the story I needed at this time. It’s setting felt so at home for me. I’d love to go visit Harper’s Landing, it would only be a ferry ride away for me! Descriptions were so well done. People’s actions, reactions, and conversations felt authentic and never broke the feel of the story’s atmosphere.

Sweet Bliss takes place in Harper Landing, a little town in the Pacific North West. The story revolves around Aaron Baxter and Julie Harper. Julie is the last remaining Harper in town. The found family of Harper Landing. While Aaron is a transplant to the town, from Silicon Valley. I fell in love with the town of Harper Landing and the people that live there, especially Julie, Aaron and baby Jack. The story is entertaining, It is fabulous to read a novel that's uplifting and engaging. Especially in todays climate of uncertainty and stress. If you want to read a feel good book then I suggest you pick up a copy. Thanks to Jennifer Bardsley for writing such a sweet romantic feel good story..

A sweet romance between the two main characters who are both struggling with their place in life.

Lovely easy read - Harper Landing seems like a great place to live - and the story flowed nicely.

A little sickly sweet in places (like too much ice cream) but heartwarming and a great escapist read (forgot about the pandemic for a while!!)

This was a really sweet, clean romance. I loved the small town community and the idea of a rich, big city guy raising a baby the best he can with friends and family wanting to help. At times the conversation and descriptions seemed a bit forced and repetitive, but I would definitely recommend this book if you want a cute contemporary romance set in the PNW.

First book in a series and first book by this author for me. Aaron is raising his nephew after his sister and brother-in-law/business partner are killed. He goes from a very eligible batchlor, to the sole guardian of an newborn. He moves to Harper's Landing as that is where Jared, BIL, is from. He meets Julia Harper when he rescues her puppy from the ocean. This was a good clean story. It was about figuring things out (Aaron) and learning to believe in yourself (Julia). Will be interesting to see what happens next in Harper's Landing

Julia Harper is known well in Harper Landing, owning many properties and being the descendant of the towns original founder. Being the youngest member of the Harper Landing Chamber of Commerce, replacing her mother after her passing, not everyone wants to stand behind a woman still in her twenties. Her mother's old flame, and candy shop owner, Walt seems to be making a point of publicly shaming her whenever he sees her, and talking to the rest of the town behind her back.
But with a new mystery man in town named Aaron, and his adorable, infant sidekick Jack, maybe she can see a fresh start with someone who hasn't known her since elementary school. Aaron is fresh to town after his own losses, and now raising his nephew. Adjusting to his new life without his sister and his best friend is already going to be complicated enough, without throwing a girl in the mix.
Sweet Bliss makes me want to move to Washington, to a sleepy town, and open my own shop. Everything Jennifer Bardsley writes, connects with me in some way. This his my heart in some deep ways... I love Julia, Aaron and Jack. I wish I could meet Paige, and punch Walt. If you want a sweet, wholesome story to warm your heart, welcome to Sweet Bliss.

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. At first, I thought this was going to be a predictable romance but it was so much more.

Harper's Landing reminded me a lot of Stars Hollow from The Gilmore Girls! loved all of the characters too. Julia Harper is the owner of Sweet Bliss, the local froyo store, and the owner of half of Harper's Landing. Aaron Baxter recently moved to Harper's Landing after experiencing a tragedy. Julia and Aaron hit it off and romance ensues. I really enjoyed this feel good story. I loved that (other than being millionaires) the characters felt relatable. I really enjoyed the interactions between Aaron and his nephew Jack!

I ended up liking this book so much more than I thought I would. I was expecting a cute little romance and instead got a story filled with interesting characters with complex emotions. I especially liked that Julia wasn't set up as some godsend for Aaron to help him navigate the ups and downs of parenting simply because she is a woman. She helps him and supports him where she can, but he never expects her to just naturally know what to do simply because she as two X chromosomes. It is rare for stories to allow a single man to be a competent father to an infant - so often they are depicted as in way over their heads and completely hopeless without help from the love interest. Aaron goes through the same struggles as any new parent, let alone single parent, would. Julia's mother was definitely never in the running for any parent of the year awards, but I liked that she wasn't made to be without any positive characteristics - yes, she was selfish, vain, and cruel to Julia, but in the end she did look out for her financially. I kind of felt bad that Walt was probably only interested in her later on for her money.

I was hooked from the very first page! The characters seem so real and the setting is described so well you feel like you are there watching the story unfold in front of you. Sweet story of loss and love.
Perfectly happy ever after ending! I also adored how fierce the love for Baby Jack is from all the main characters it was very heart warming.

This book was the brain candy I needed after the events of early January. It was so nice to escape into a new world with characters I’ll be getting to know in the series. The main love story was cute and fun, with sweet interactions, and the supporting characters were entertaining.

I can’t wait to read more about the residents and romances in Harper’s Landing!

I enjoyed the small town vibes of everyone knowing about your business. I also really enjoyed the chemistry of Aaron and Julia.

I didn’t like that Aaron brought up his sister or the accident so much. Overall this was a really sweet and easy romance that I enjoyed.

Sweet Bliss is a great story for dialogue regarding dealing with survivor’s grief, small town business woes and charms, and quieting internal negative dialogue causing low self-esteem and guilt. The main characters struggle with examination of the paths their lives have taken due to deaths of family members. Their decision to remain kind is a deliberate choice to be different than the parents who fanned their insecurities throughout childhood. Other issues such as raising an orphaned infant under the hero’s guardianship, recognizing the onset of Alzheimer’s, dealing with issues to keep the historical small town businesses viable, and finding a partner to love who actually understands the inner turmoils of the main characters and sees value and good within one another. A great, unique plot that is a real page-turner, provoking thought and goodness in humanity despite hardships faced. Hope and a happily ever after story well worth reading!

This is a lovely feel good romance with a side serving of nappy blow outs, dribble and a misbehaved dog that has no boundaries.

Julia and Aaron are the perfectly imperfect couple that complement each other wonderfully.
They are both trying to come to terms with their new roles in life, Julia trying to run the small idyllic town her parents founded and Aaron stepping into the life of single parenthood with his baby nephew Jack, who steals the show wherever he goes.

This book is written from both Julia and Aaron’s point of view so you get a good insight into the feelings, obstacles and insecurities they both have to overcome to be truly happy.
Harper Landing is full of a lovable variety of characters, and some you will love to dislike.
It delicately touches on the subject of Alzheimer’s, and the tragic loss of close family. But this book was absolutely beautifully written, with the nice added touch of a map of Harpers Landing in the front.
