I’m going to be perfectly honest. I did not have high hopes for this story. I thought it would be too generic for my liking. However, I was pleasantly surprised. I admit that this is not my fairest review, as I have only read this 3rd volume as an advanced reader copy through Netgalley, and I cannot adequately judge the series as a whole at this time.

I highly recommend that you read the other volumes before this one. I assume the last volume ended in a cliffhanger because when the 3rd volume starts, we are full submerged in mystery. This is a complex story with lots of characters, and seeing how I haven’t read the other 2 volumes I won’t be reviewing the narrative.

The characters are interesting and all seem to be fleshed out. They have distinct personalities and their own motivations. They feel like real people in a lot of ways, and I personally like that. They can be a little melodramatic, but it suits the story.

I find the art striking, and it reminds me of an older classic shoujo style, while still remaining modern. The characters are well-drawn and of course, very pretty. The mangaka also does a great job drawing backgrounds and props, which is always a bonus to me.

Overall, I think that if you like family dramas with lots of mystery, then I think you will enjoy this story. I’m definitely interested in reading the other volumes now that I’ve read this.
