Another fun read from Stacy Finz in the Nugget series. As a big fan, I love seeing my old favorite characters as well as the new entrants to the community life. Finz gets the medical facts right (I am a pediatric nurse) as well as the issues with addicted medical professionals.

I didn’t need Brynn to be quite such a 1%er but I did enjoy the book overall, it was a very quick read. Mostly, it is so much fun to revisit this town and it’s cast of characters.

I've worked in a hospital setting for over 20 years in the administration of the Medical Staff, and I had no objections to the relationships in 'Choosing You'. Technically Brynn is not the patient, her child Henry is, and there was no unethical coercion or manipulation by Dr. Ethan, so I gave them a pass over other's stated objections. This is another Nugget, CA gem and I loved it. I thoroughly enjoy the townspeople, and their kindness. I was grateful that Stacy Finz returned to them and brought us this uplifting story about people with real-life situations. As always, I skip over the steam, as I think it detracts from the heartwarming stories and personalities of the characters. I look forward to many, many more.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from publisher via NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

One week out from the pub day of Choosing You by Stacy Finz! Thank you @netgalley and @kensingtonbooks for the advance copy in exchange for and honest review!

I told y’all that I’m a sucker for a book with a dog on it (especially a dog in a blue truck)! This was my first trip to the small town of Nugget and while I didn’t get to see into the town dynamics too much, the town seemed really sweet! And I’m sure if you had read all the books before this one, you would have that understanding! Swipe to see the synopsis.

I started off really enjoying this book. Somewhere in the middle I wasn’t as convinced I liked it and then I enjoyed the end. I liked that it wasn’t just boy meets girl and there were other things going on. And while sometimes a love triangle is fine, I must say I didn’t really enjoy it here. I understood why it happened, but it just wasn’t my favorite part of this story. I also wanted a little more substance behind Brynn and Ethans attraction.

This is part of a series but can be read as a standalone.
The setting is wonderful.
The characters are a little unbelievable.
But my main problem ... to the point that I couldn’t enjoy the book ... is a doctor getting involved with a patient’s mother. That’s just a huge ethical issue for me.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an arc in exchange for my honest review.

Brynn comes to Nugget to seek medical attention for her son from Ethan, a very knowledgeable surgeon. She ends up staying on his property in Nugget, CA. This was my first book in the series and first book from this author. Boy, have I been missing out. I can't wait to binge read the rest of the books on the series. This slow burn romance had all the feels. I thought the characters were well written and the plot was solid. Not to mention the kids in the story were adorable. I enjoyed the conflict with Ethan's ex. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this story.

One of the best parts of this love story between a high-power ad exec mother, Brynn, and her son's small-town surgeon, Ethan, is the picturesque backdrop of Nugget, CA. It is a cute and close-knit town of characters and definitely makes me want to read the other books in the Nugget series by Stacy Finz (this is book 11).

At times I felt the plot was a little unbelievable, I'm not sure how often it really is that a doctor would break a code of ethics with a patient's mother, but it was still a feel-good story. I had some issues with the ex-wife and her family and how they manipulated Ethan at times (I thought). I was glad that the ex, Joey, figured herself out a bit and did the right things in the end.
I did love Brynn's ending and her finding her career love and putting her life back together after the accident that killed her husband and seriously injured her son Henry.

With a cast of lovely side characters, two sweet children, and realistic romance this was a quick and enjoyable read.

*Thank you to Kensington Publishing, Stacy Finz, and Netgalley for providing me with an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest and voluntary review.

Brynn will do anything to help heal her son Henry, who was badly injured in the accident that killed his father so she's eager to try the stem cell therapy Ethan hopes might show promise. So much so that she moves them from New York to Nugget, where Ethan has settled with his small daughter Veronica. Ethan's got some unresolved issues with his ex- Veronica's mom and Brynn has some thoughts about that. The romance between Brynn and Ethan moves slowly but warmly. This is the latest in a series and don't worry if you, like me, haven't read all of them (I've only read one) - they are interlocking but not interdependent. This has good characters (even if Joey is annoying) and a positive outlook. And, there's Nugget, a small town with nice residents. Thanks to netgalley for the ARC. A good read.

Brynn Barnes is a wealthy widow seeking world-class medical treatment for her 8-year-old son, Henry.. Ethan Daniels is that doctor. However, after Brynn moves into a Ronald McDonald style patient cottage that happens to be on Ethan's property in the small town of Nugget, California, the lines between patient's mother and doctor get blurred. Brynn is still reeling from the death of her husband in the accident that injured their son. It's not so much that she's mourning her husband - their marriage was foundering. Instead, she's resentful that their son has been left with severe injuries that could permanently impact his quality of life, due to his father's actions. Ethan is raising his six-year-old daughter and grappling with custody issues with his ex-wife, Joey. Her drug abuse killed their marriage, but she's clean now and wants a second chance with Ethan. Plus, as Ethan and Brynne are drawn to each other, ethical questions abound.

This was a relaxing, fun read. No major complications or drama. Sometimes, the writing got a little overly descriptive, but I enjoyed the storyline. The funny thing is, I didn't realize this was part of a series. The Jill Shalvis blurb on the NetGalley page refers to Stacy Finz as a "unique new voice", so I assumed it was a debut novel. Color me surprised when I looked up Stacy Finz on Amazon and realized this is the 11th book in the Nugget, California series! I did add the first to my Kindle Unlimited accounts, so take that as a testimony that I enjoyed this book!

Thank you NetGalley and Kensington Books for the opportunity to read a digital ARC in return for an honest review.

Spoiler Alert below:

I liked the way the Joey subplot was resolved. I'm guessing she'll get her own love story in Book 12! LOL

Great addition to the series! I loved revisiting the characters in Nugget and meeting new ones. Brynn comes to Nugget to get her son in a clinical trial which she hopes will help her son regain use of his legs. She meets Ethan who is the doctor running the trial and they slowly fall for one another. This was a wonderful small town romance!

Brynn Barnes is desperate to find a way to heal her son’s legs after a devastating accident crushed his legs and killed her husband. Her only hope is a clinical trial being conducted by Dr. Ethan Daniels in Reno. Of course, since they have to stay for the surgery and stem cell treatment, Ethan offers the use of his guest house in Nugget, a small California town not too far from Reno. Ethan has sole custody of his daughter after a bitter divorce, and doesn’t have time to get involved with someone, especially a patient’s mother. But fate has other plans. When I picked this book from NetGalley, I thought it was the 1st in the series, not the 11th, but it definitely can be read as a stand-alone. I loved the characters and the town of Nugget, so much so that I will now have to read the previous ten books. If you like a good small town contemporary romance, this is a great choice. I was given an advanced reader copy of this book from NetGalley for my honest opinion.

I really liked this book! It was very easy to read as well as fun. It kept me interested from the start. It’s just a small town romance, with a lot of feelings. I don’t know if I liked how the relationship started, but at the end I liked it. I liked the town and how the people and places where described. It was cute and wholesome and beautiful.

Brynn Barnes is desperate to help her young son, Henry, walk again after an accident that killed his father. Ethan Daniels’ stem cell trial is her last hope. When he accepts Henry into his trial, he offers Brynn and Henry the use of a cottage located in the mountains about an hour away. He doesn’t tell her that it’s location is on his ranch in Nugget, California, where he moved with his young daughter after his messy divorce the year before. Nugget is the perfect small friendly mountain town to raise a family, and he has ties there from his youth. Though neither of them is looking for a new relationship, their attraction is challenging to ignore.
Choosing You is such a well-done compelling story. I couldn’t get enough! The characters are realistic, and the town of Nugget is somewhere I’d love to live. Highly recommend!

Ethan and Brynn would do anything for their kids!!

Brynn Barnes just wanted to heal her son Henry but moving to Reno for his medical trial, meeting the gorgeous doctor and staying at his guest house made Brynn reevaluate her life in New York City. Dr. Ethan Daniels loved his daughter Roni and being able to combine the best of both worlds between his practice and his ranch.

I loved the relationship between Brynn and Ethan because they would do anything for their children and falling in love wasn’t in their plans, but life helped them realize how much they were meant to be together.

Choosing You by Stacy Finz is the first book that I’ve read in the Nugget Series, but I intend to read more of the series because I love small town romances.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Wow, I felt so personally attached to the characters. I devoured this in less than 5 hours and have nothing but great things to say! The storyline and characters were so well written and captivating! Rating this a 4.25!

Will Dr. Daniels choose Brynn even if it’s against his oath as a doctor of her son? Brynn only wants for her son to walk again after the terrible accident that also killed her husband. Ethan Daniels is her last chance. But will they fight the attraction between them or will Ethan choose to rebuild his marriage now that his ex-wife is clean from drugs again for his young daughter’s happiness? An emotional read.

This book is part of series, but I read it as stand alone, and it works.
This was cute romance, and I really maim characters but...
But the relationship between doctor and the patient's mother bugged me...
Really bugged me. Beacause of that 3.5 stars.

It starts so well and has such promise but unfortunately it doesn't last as a doctor gets involved with a patient's mom, just no.
The sex scenes care unneeded as well.

This books is a big pass

5 Stars!

A beautiful story of finding love after loss and despair.

I have so many positive things to say about this book, but I’ll keep it simple so as not to spoil anything!

In “Choosing You”, you follow two people who come from such different worlds, yet fall utterly in love with one another. The build-up to their romance is slow but full of sparks between the main characters, Brynn and Ethan. There is plenty of conflict, but realistically so, not overdone. I recently read an article that said something along the lines of the best romance writers make you think there’s no way the central couple could end up together, even though readers pick up the book knowing they will. The author did exactly that, and in a beautiful, heart-wrenching way.

This was my first time reading a Stacy Finz novel and I was a little nervous about hopping into the 11th book of the Nugget series. Those nerves were for nothing though - I was able to dive into life in Nugget without needing to have the backstory of the previous books. There were hints to other stories, but that just made me want to read the rest of the series! Finz also hinted at a possible next story without letting it take away from the current one. In fact, it drew me in yet again.

I honestly don’t have any negative things to say about this book. I’ll certainly re-read it in the future when I need a little pick-me-up of a beautiful love story.

Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for the advance copy of “Choosing You” in exchange for my honest review.

Enjoyable read written with Stacy Finz trademark talent, “Choosing You” (Kensington Books), features a tall, dark and handsome cowboy doctor, who is an interesting, complex character, and, besides the romance, tackles issues of grief and loss, serious injuries and the psychological effects of divorce.
I loved watching Ethan as a doctor, the doctor/patient interaction, his kindness and sensitivity with Henry.
I liked the characters – two adults, mature, interesting, both successful in their careers, their children and other secondary, believable characters, all adding to the story. Henry is so sweet, brave, and lost in the beginning. Veronica is a captivating little girl, too.
Ethan’s contradictions over the ex and some physicians’ ethics dimensions make him approachable, but at times these issues feel a bit redundant.
To an extent, I understood Ethan and Joey’s present relationship, but I didn’t like the amount of pages dedicated to it (even less those with her meddling, insufferable family). I struggled a lot with all the back and forward between the former couple (at times, even Brynn favors reconciliation). I thought some episodes were unnecessary, didn’t make sense for me and made the story lag a bit and, above all, I wasn’t interested in Joey as a character (although, I must say I liked that the ex is not portrayed as the devil one).
The small town atmosphere and hospitality are entertaining, too.

Ethan Daniels is a rancher and a surgeon. While he works in Reno and is highly respected for a new orthopedic technique, he lives in Nugget with his young daughter and his step-mom. No drama there, until you throw in his ex-wife, Joey. Then, lots of drama. Brynn Barnes is an ad executive and a widowed mom wanting Ethan to help her son. Ethan and Brynn shouldn’t get involved, but they do. Author Stacy Finz builds a wonderful backdrop for this story, for Ethan and Brynn, and for us – the readers. So much more depth than I can convey. Choosing You takes us through all of the emotions and brings us to the most important part of any relationship – making the choice to love.
