What could have been an H.R.nightmare turned into the best possible thing in their lives! Laying it all on the line they never stood a chance.

An enjoyable read that allowed you to escape reality.

Julie wrote a stunning tale, an arrogant cocky hero in Chase and a feisty heroine in Ainsley! A steamy consuming read!

Another great addition to the misadventures books . A perfect quick read with just the right amount of heat passion and romance and characters that take you in . I like a HEA with a strong female character like Ainsley and a man like Chase who takes the bull by the horns and goes after the girl.

I am a big fan of Romance books and I found this one to be a very enjoyable read. I will be looking for more books from this author.

I have enjoyed all of the misadventures books. I do have to say that this was not my favorite.

I enjoyed the characters but I wish they were a little more developed. Defense attorney, Chase Newstrom, defends only those he knows to be innocent. He himself was once in a similar situation. Ainsley Spiere is an intern awaiting the results of her bar exam. She puts work before anything else, including the festivities for her best friends upcoming wedding.

Ainsley is mad to miss festivities and gets drunk on Chases scotch and writes him a letter about her true feelings and desires. After he accidentally reads the letter he realizes he has feelings for her.

I felt like the book was a little repetitive. I have enjoyed the misadventures series and will continue to read them.

DNF @ 60 %.
It started out great but then it just felt like it was repeating itself. The guy they were defending in court was accused of rape but not guilty, same goes for the hero.
The heroine was very shy at first but after the hero (her boss) found her letter saying she would sleep with him, she suddenly turned into a sex goddess and they slept together.
A really big miss for me was at 60 % where the hero's ex (who keeps popping up) showed up at his apartment after the MCs slept together and demanded they get back together. He showed her out and the heroine started this big argument, how he doesn't understand her and what she's going through and how she slept with the boss etc. Frankly, even I didn't understand her outburst.
Anyway, not what I expected.

2 stars.

Not all attorneys are heartless ambulance chasers. Misadventures with a Lawyer is an engaging story about two attorneys who love the law and helping people. It is a sweet and sexy story with characters that are easy to relate to.

I have read and enjoyed many of the books in the Misadventures series. It gives me a chance to read books by authors who are new to me and I have discovered some authors and have added them to my reading list. I have never read any of Julie Morgan's books before and I enjoyed her writing style.

Ainsley has just graduated from law school and her dream is to become a defense attorney. She has big plans after she passes the bar exam. In the meantime, Ainsley is working as an intern for Chase to learn as much as she can from one of the best defense attorneys around. Secretly, Ainsley has a huge crush on her Chase, but she has no intention of ever letting him know. However, everything changes when she drinks just a little too much.

Chase is a playboy with a big paycheck and an even bigger ego, but Ainsley puts him in his place and makes him reevaluate his life and what is really important. Ainsley is completely different from all the other women Chase has known and once he opens his eyes and sees her, he is enchanted with Ainsley.

Chase and Ainsley love being attorneys. They both have different reasons for deciding to go to law school, but they have worked hard to get where they are and I admired their dedication. Chase and Ainsley are good together and make each other strive to be a better person. This is an entertaining story and if you like reading about sexy attorneys, you will enjoy this one.

This was a fun and hot story. Not too long but also not too short. Its at work romance between an almost lawyer and intern, Ainsley and her boss, Chase. They both are working a case when Chase goes on a date (which was kinda ick) and leaves her at the office missing the festivities for her bestfriends wedding and she gets drunk and writes him this note.

The next day he finds the note and drunk Ainsley and so it opens his eyes to his intern. This was a fast read and a lot of fun. He has an ecil ex but beyond that this story was very romantic and hot.

I received a free ARC copy of this book from NETGALLERY prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Misadventures with a Lawyer was a good read by Julie Morgan. Chase Newstrom is a legendary lawyer who is famous in the court room and with the ladies. But a new twist in one of his cases could ruin his perfect record. He turns to his intern Ainsley Speire to solve the problem of this case. She is unhappy with her boss and the problem's he's causing in her life. She drank his most expensive scotch and pens him a drunken letter. This letter leads him to start seeing him in a different light. I really enjoyed reading Chase and Ainsley's story and can't wait to read ore by the author.

I read an ARC provided to me via Netgalley

The premise of this book intrigued me but it didn’t end up being quite what I expected. I enjoyed the brevity and due to that, the insta love premise didn’t bother me because I knew that it was proportional to the length of the book. I did enjoy the book but only once I got past the first few chapters. I don’t know that I would have finished it if it had not been an arc. I am glad I did though. I did become invested in their story and what would happen to her career.

Things I did like:
- steamy scenes were steamy
- Character development was good. I enjoyed learning about why they were the way they were.
- I enjoyed the duel perspective (switching chapters as Ainsley or Chase)
- I appreciated the respect he had for her about halfway in.

Things I didn’t like:
- The character of Chase was more than just an ass at the beginning, he was abusive and cringe worthy.
- R*pe as a plot point. At the beginning of the book the character said they drew a line at types of clients they defended. One was serial r*pists. Apparently that does not extend to singular r*pists. That is their client. And of course, he is falsely accused. This whole thing bothered me greatly because of societies rush to victim blame. I understood why they chose to have this be the client later in the book but when I read it my thoughts were, could it not have been any other offence? Which, I still believe could have been true.
- Some of the language was cringeworthy “You walk in here with that tight ass of yours, in your designer clothes, and you smell so good. Even the days you come in with your workout clothes on. The sweaty clothes cling to your body like some sort of drive-me-crazy carnal paint.” Like. What?
- Inconsistency in character language use. Ainsley goes from mousy to moxie so often and fast that it gave me whiplash. She also suddenly turned into a redneck at points? Like. What?

If you are looking for a Steamy Contemporary Romance that will have you Laughing Out Loud then look no further because Chase and Ainsley will satisfy your craving!

Julie Morgan is a new to me author so I wasn't sure what to expect going in but I had read other books in the Misadventures World and really enjoyed them so I was a bit excited and hopeful that I would not only enjoy the book but hopefully find another author I enjoyed reading...and that is exactly what happened.

Chase Newstrom is a well know defense attorney an is usually hired on cases that others would deem hard to win, but Chase only takes on cases for those that he believes are innocent. Don't you just love that, I totally do! So when his client is accused of a heinous crime and the prosecution says they have a witness to corroborate the accusers story, well that just doesn't sit well with Chase.

Ainsley Spiere is set to have the weekend off of work to celebrate with her friends as one of them is having a big day. Then she receives word that she has to work and NO isn't an option for her, I'd be even more pissed than she was honestly but she took it in stride and let it all out after downing a bottle of scotch. LOL

I loved Ainsley and Chase together both in and out of the courtroom. They had great chemistry as work partners and it revved up the sexual chemistry.

If you enjoy Steamy Contemporary Office Romances this one is for you. This is a perfect afternoon read, so grab some hot coco....I'd stay away from the liquor until after you've read the story...curl up under your favorite blanket and dive in. If you like audiobooks, I would recommend listening to this one, the narration by Natalie Eaton and Troy Duran was excellent, you will not be disappointed.

Happy Reading!!!

This book was predictable, but a good read. The banter and character development was well written. It was steamy, that's for sure.

I liked the story very much and it didn't feel rushed at all.

I do recommend it.

OMG!! This book is one great read! When lawyer Chase Newstrom demands that intern Ainsley Spiere show up when she’s got the day off to get ready for her best friends wedding, she’s pissed. When he demands that she stay late to finish getting ready for a case, she’s has enough.
Drinking a whole bottle of his expensive Scotch, she pens what starts out to be a scathing letter, but instead turns into a confession about how hot she thinks he is, Ainsley passes out at Chase’s desk before she could destroy the letter. When she wakes up, it’s to discover Chase standing over her, reading the letter.
Chase has never given Ainsley more than a passing glance. He doesn’t need to. The man has models falling at his feet, and after being burned back in high school, he’s sworn off actual relationships. After reading Ainsley’s letter though, he takes a second, and third look and likes what he sees. But is it too late? Will Ainsley get over her embarrassment and actually accept that Chase might be interested in her, Will Chase abandon his playboy lifestyle and take a chance on Ainsley?
If you haven’t read a book by this author yet, what are you waiting for? This book has it all! Great writing, a wonderful story, HEAT, and great characters. If you love contemporary romance, I think you’re going to devour Misadventures with a Lawyer.
**I read an ARC of this story and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with a copy in exchange of an honest review!

The only Misadventures books I’ve read prior this were those by Sierra Simone so I was excited when I saw this was available for requesting!

Based on the feedback I’ve seen, this might be an unpopular opinion but I have to admit that I didn’t love this as much as I wanted to. Though I understand how Misadaventures books are meant to be short so the insta-love trope is inevitable and going straight to the smut is normal, I didn’t enjoy it as much as in this book compared to the ones I read before.

I didn’t love the main characters here as much as I wished. Chase was your typical fuckboy. Ainsley was an intern who is aware of how sexy her boss is.

I quite liked Ainsley as a character. She is strong, intelligent and hardworking. Though there are times that I found her annoying especially when she constantly described her sister as “weird”. All in all, she was a inconsistent.

I wasn’t a fan of how fast their relationship transitioned from barely caring for each other to being so utterly in love with each other. I wasn’t able to connect that much with the characters because of how fast we were jumping from one scene to another. The smut had a bit of steam but not enough to captivate me or be consumed by their chemistry. Ultimately, their relationship felt a bit shallow to me.

The issue with Patricia got annoyingly repetitive to the point that I felt she was there to cause unnecessary conflict between the couple that had no reason to be that deep.

Though I did enjoy learning more about the world of lawyers and their work. It was interesting knowing about variety of areas they could specialize in.

Overall, this was a quick and steamy read. I’m definitely excited to read more of the MIsadventures series after this!

This was nice and spicy. Ainsley had Chase going. I guess they both learned what can happen when a pissed off female get some liquor in her.

The storyline was on point for me. Although, Ainsley was a firecracker she had a little vulnerability about her too. The same can be said for Chase as well. However, together not even the devil in the form of an ex can keep them apart or stop them from prospering career wise.

Another winner in the Misadventure series.
