This one was a strong contender for being 'the' book about authenticity and shadow work, until it got about halfway through, and it turned into an infomercial for EFT/tapping. Not the book I was looking for, in the end (I wanted to read about how to do all this through other means than tapping as this seems to have been covered everywhere)

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an e-copy of this book.

I didn't know what to expect from the book, but honestly feel that it has changed my perspective on my life and to some degree freed me from old and unhelpful ways of thinking. I say, to some degree, because some of the messages in the book were a bit overwhelming so I felt I needed to take a break and go back at some point.

At first I started to skim the book - like a lot of 'self-help' books it seemed to take an awful long time to get anywhere. But about a third of the way through I had a 'wait ... what?' moment and realised that the message was important and relevant. So I went back to the start and read more carefully. I still think it took an awful long time to get anywhere, but it did all come together well.

I was a bit confused by whether EFT was something that you need a therapist to work through, or whether you can work through it yourself. There are some instructions in the book, but they didn't really make sense to me until I had done some further research.

So, overall a good read with life-changing potential!

This book is very informative of how the brain works when it comes to how we portray ourselves. Look forward to using some of the methods mentioned in here.
