This installment in the series was an enjoyable read. The story does seem to wander around and has quite a bit of action that doesn't have anything to do with the murder. It isn't really distracting since it is well written and you end up caught up within the goings on in town.

Set in the lovely town of South Cove, California Ms. Cahoon has written another excellent addition to the Tourist Trap mystery series. I felt like I was returning to visit old friends as the town gears up for the St. Patrick's Day festival.

Jill has her hands full as she is keeping Amy sane during her wedding preparations since the wedding is in two weeks, setting up Coffee, Books and More for the festival and squeezing in some time with Greg when a visitor is murdered. The plot is quickly paced with twists, red herrings and only a few suspects to investigate. Esmeralda is in the spotlight in this one as the visitor was a client so Jill jumps in to help her friend and neighbor. Ms. Cahoon rich descriptions always makes me feel like I am in thick of things as I read and I love that feeling.

Super enjoyed! The mystery was bit meandering, but I always love it when a protagonist doesn’t do stupid things or unduly put themselves in danger. The story was enjoyable and the characters have really grown!

After a local paint and sip event a tourist is found murdered, despite her Policeman boyfriend not wanting her to get involved it seems Jill cant help herself.

The side stories are just as important as the murder in this book with well rounded characters its a warm and cosy mystery, Jill's friend Amy finally gets married and the book ends on a cliff hanger. I look forward to the next book in the series.

Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Publishing Corp. for a copy of "Picture Perfect Frame" in exchange for my honest review.

This is the 12th book in The Tourist Trap series. Set in South Cove, California where Jill Gardner owns Coffee, Books and More. All our favourite characters are back - Jill's boyfriend Police Detective Greg King, her best friend Amy Newman, barista/police officer Toby Killian, new barista Evie Marshall (who also happens to rent the apartment above the shop) and of course Emma, the golden retriever.

Part of the story is the lead up to Amy's wedding. Previous books have had the over-the-top plans for the wedding and they are finally getting married in this book. The other part is of course, a mystery. Jill seems to attract mayhem. During a paint and sip party at the Drunken Art Studio, Greg and Jill notice that tourists Nan & Steve Gunter seem to be doing more drinking than painting. Greg makes sure that they have a safe ride back to Bill & Mary's Bed and Breakfast.

The next morning there is a body at the Drunken Art Studio - owner Meredith Cole and her husband Neal are automatic suspects. Esmerelda (the town's police dispatcher and psychic) is accused by Steve of blackmail. Jill of course, comes to the defense of her friend and neighbour. In this case it's not so much about family but rather a money trail.

The book ends in a cliffhanger...... did Greg propose to Jill in the garden during the wedding reception? We'll have to wait for our next visit to South Cove to find out.

Thank you NetGalley for the early release copy of Picture Perfect Frame by Lynn Cahoon. Jill, owner of Coffee Books and More Shop. Jill and Greg went to a paint and sip event. A couple got very drunk. They were taken to the Bed and Breakfast that they were staying at. The next morning the wife, Nan, was found dead at the Drunken Artist art studio. Along with her friends, Jill and her husband try to figure out who killed Nan. Lynn Cahoon is a great writer and has several fun series. This is a "Tourist Trap Mystery". She also has "The Kitchen Witch Series" and the "Farm to Fork series, all of which I have read and enjoyed. Thank you Lynn for your wonderful writing.

Lots of fun, even if the mystery is almost secondary. Jill is busy helping Amy finalize her wedding details, trying to keep the store running with less help now that her aunt has remarried and getting ready for the St. Patrick's Day festival. But someone murdered a visitor to South Cove and Greg's dispatcher may be blamed. Add a surprise ending and it is another perfect California day

The Tourist Trap Mysteries is one of my favorite series and this book did not disappoint. When a fun night of wine and painting turns to murder and one of Jill's friends seems to be a prime suspect, of course she is going to investigate. Jill's detective boyfriend Greg is usually very unhappy when she is investigating but he seemed much more understanding of it in this book. It was fun to see all the CBM family again and the interactions at times were very interesting. The mystery was interspersed with a lot of personal interactions and twists and turns which for me is what made this such a great story. I am looking forward to the next book especially with they way this one ended.

I love this cozy mystery series and Jill, Greg and all their family and friends. No matter how much Jill tries she can’t seem to stay out of Greg’s murder cases. This time it’s a regular visitor to the town and a local friend who is accused of the crime. How can Jill not try to help find the real murderer and keep her friend from jail.

Through NetGalley, I received a free copy of PICTURE PERFECT FRAME (Book 12 of the Tourist Trap Mysteries) by Lynn Cahoon in exchange for an honest review. Jill Gardner is still tormented by her lack of arts & crafting abilities. This time, Jill attends a paint and sip event to support a small business new to town, and her painting turns out looking like paint. One of the attendees is found dead in the studio the next morning, and law enforcement has a difficult job before them because the woman was a visitor in town. When the woman’s husband tries to have Jill’s fortune-telling friend/neighbor arrested for the homicide, Jill finds herself looking into the case. Can the killer be identified before Jill paints herself into a corner? Meanwhile, Amy’s fiancé is keeping secrets from her and making her doubt their relationship.

I liked this book and enjoy the series. I recommend the book to fans of the series, and I recommend the series to fans of cozy mysteries featuring murder, coastal towns, small towns, small businesses, food, and faithful pets.

Painting Can Be Disruptive....
Book twelve in the Tourist Trap mystery series finds bookshop cafe owner Jill busy lending her support to other small business owners on Main Street but when a painting event does not go strictly to plan and is disrupted it’s not long until a body turns up. With a likeable protagonist, a colourful cast of supporting characters and a delightful backdrop this is an enjoyable, cosy read and a worthy addition to the series. Can happily be read as a stand-alone although there’s fun to be had in reading from the start of the series.

Jill and the other business owners in town are getting ready for their first festival of the year for St Patrick’s Day. With a new business in town, Jill and Greg are invited to take part in a painting class with several other couples as they get to know each other. When one of the class attendees is found dead in the paint shop the next morning, Jill’s neighbor becomes the prime suspect.

To save her friend, Jill begins digging into the background of the departed woman and her husband. Once her friend is cleared, she still needs to find out who murdered the woman, leaving Greg worried about Jill’s safety and the police also wondering whodunit. Now Jill has to hope she doesn’t paint herself into a corner with the killer before they’re arrested.

A really fund series based in a California coastal town that will leave you wanting more time on the beach to read the other entries in this series. Lynn Cahoon is one of my must read authors and never disappoints. If you haven’t read one of her books yet, what are you waiting for? She has three series to binge on.

A really enjoyable cozy mystery. Jill takes the challenge of solving the murder to get her friend out of trouble. Greg goes into protection mode. Having a murder, wedding, and a lot of mystery makes a great story
