Hannah Mary McKinnon has created a fantastic novel that pulls you in from the start.
I was instantly invested in You Will Remember Me and could not put it down until I knew what happened.
I was not disappointed. The ending left me shook!!

The author has created an excellent cast of characters, great suspense, that keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout, and a well paced plot. I highly recommend this book to everyone who loves mystery and thrillers!!

Not recommended. Decently written, standard psychological thriller until the sick twisted ending. This ruined the book for me and left me wishing I hadn't wasted my time on this real downer.

Thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the advanced copy of this book! I had never read Hannah Mary McKinnon before. The book was fast-paced and interesting- I read it in three days! I will probably give another one of her books a try, but the ending to this one was a little to dark for me. It would be great for someone who wants an unconventional ending though!

Rating: 5/5 stars.

“You Will Remember Me” by Hannah Mary McKinnon is a riveting suspense thriller. The story is centered around the main character, Jack, whose amnesia is interfering with his ability to recall and discover why he woke up, concussed and injured, on a beach. The plot is well-paced, and focused on the horror of questioning your own memories and sanity. Each character has their own secrets to hide, though Jack’s amnesia adds an extra layer of uncertainty; can he even trust himself?

The author expertly sows seeds of doubt throughout the novel in both the minds of the characters and the reader as to the truth, and which characters are hiding dark secrets. The explosive and unexpected ending will stay in the reader’s mind long after they finish reading the novel.

Overall, I loved the book. The author continues to deliver hit after hit thriller, and are quickly becoming one of my absolute favourite authors. I cannot wait to read what they come up with next.

This was a fun read that I am still thinking about a while later. One of the most satisfying endings to a thriller that I have read this year. While I did not become attached to any characters, the story was fast paced and didn't waste any time. It was just the right length that I did not feel there was any wasted space. There may have been a few too many conveniences for my taste along the way but the ending made up far any disappointments I held towards the middle of the book. A solid thriller!

Good psychological thriller, however, it was very obvious from the beginning of the book who the suspect was.

I started You Will Remember Me two evenings ago, and devoured it from beginning to end. As you know, dear readers, I’ve been trying my best to get further and further into the psychological thriller genre. It has been a delight to slowly uncover new stories, and wind my way through the twisty minds of the authors who pen them. I’m happy to report that Hannah Mary McKinnon has written a book that is a quick and enjoyable read.

The characters here aren’t necessarily likable, but I did find them to be realistic which is almost more important. As a character, Ash became more and more gruff as the story progressed. His frustration made sense to me, as he was basically relying on everyone around him to tell him what was real. Which made Maya’s character even more terrifying, as she was the one responsible for taking care of Ash as he was recovering. It begs the question as to whether you can ever truly trust your memories. Whether they are the ones that you think you remember on your own, or they are the ones that others have fed you. The dynamic between Ash and Maya was uncomfortable, but in a way that made this story compulsively readable.

Now, I will say honestly that I did mostly figure out the ending before it arrived. This is the type of story that hints rather heavily at what is to come, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Instead, McKinnon uses this as a way to keep the reader engaged so see if they’re being tempted off course. As Ash regains his memories, bit by bit, the reader is treated to more pieces of the puzzle. I had a lot of fun slowly putting them together to see if I actually knew what the picture would ultimately be. You may be just as surprised as I was, that what emerges is not quite what you expected it to be.

I can attest that this is one of those books that you will absolutely fly through. The quick moving plot will pull you in, and tug you along without mercy. Trust me when I say that you probably don’t want to start this right before bed, or you may not sleep at all. You Will Remember Me is a solid, if not completely standout, entry in the psychological thriller genre. I look forward to what Hannah Mary McKinnon has in store next!

I received a free ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

At first, I was thinking that this book was very predictable. I felt like I knew who did it all along. Still I read on and am glad I finished. While there wasn’t a huge twist at the end, there was something so unexpected that happened that it just leave you in shock. 3.75

He woke up battered, bruised and bloodied. Worse than that he had no memory of his location or even his name. What is more is that while wandering about he has a strong feeling of fear of approaching the police. When he gets access to a phone, there is one number he remembers, and this brings him to a life that does not resemble the one he had been living. Who did he call and what is really going on? In fact, who beat him and left him for dead?

Lily Reid had hoped for a sexy night with her boyfriend Jack Smith. He tells her that he must finish up work but he will be there as soon as possible. When she wakes the next day she realizes that he never came over. She goes absolutely crazy trying to find him. As Lily begins to trace him, she begins to learn some disturbing facts, and that starts with his name. There is no Jack Smith. Who is the man she is desperately in love with? Why did he lie to her about his name and where has he gone?

Then there is Maya Scott. She has been looking for her stepbrother for quite some time. When he shockingly comes back to her with almost a complete loss of memory, Maya is determined never to let him go again. What ensues is a case of obsession nearly unlike anything I have ever read.

In this sharply executed thriller by Hannah Mary McKinnon, readers are taken down rather twisty tails that connects at surprising places. Love, concern, lies and obsession all become interwoven in a story that begs the reader to imagine the unimaginable. While the past is briefly explored, it is the present that delivers a fabulously written story, one where discovering who to trust is pivotal.

I must admit that there was someone that I did not trust almost from the start. In fact, we are not meant to trust, we are meant to sort things out, to seek an ending that will leave us content. Instead, we are driven down a road that almost ended at a dead stop. This book was a true page-turner. I wanted. I hoped. I didn't get. It is okay because the ride was well worth the trip.

Many thanks to MIRA and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

From an author I have come to know via zoom chats and her online presence, I can only say WTF is going on in that genius mind???!! As much as I think - Holy Heck - is this sweet and amazing woman THAT messed up? haha I also completely and wholeheartedly think -DON'T YOU DARE STOP WRITING THESE PHENOMMMMM STORIES!!!

Dark, twisty, unbelievably well-written and so much questioning the characters as I tried to guess the ending - and it still hooked me good!

Read the synopsis - but don't think too much. Let Hannah take you on this damn well-written crazy ride of memory loss and looking at everyone through eyes of a stranger... until it all comes together and your mouth is left gaping at some incredible realizations.

Oh yeah... Enjoy (enter evil laugh Muah-ah-ah-ahhhhhhh)

Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for my complimentary ARC in exchange for an honest review. Please excuse my tardiness in posting my review as my TBR list continuously grows and I keep finding so many book with so little time! So much gratitude for this copy shared with me, always xo

This story is told in three different POV’s. So this one starts of with a man on a beach and he can’t remember who he is or where he is from. We follow him as he tries to remember things and he finds a watch with the name Brad so he thinks that is his name, he also has a number.

He calls the number and gets a woman who recognizes his voice and calls him Asher but since he think he is Brad, he believes she is wrong and hangs up. This woman is Maya a woman whose brother left years ago and she has been wondering what happened to him.

Then we have Lily whose boyfriend is missing and she is trying to find him, but his name is Jack. They find his vehicle by the beach and others think he might have went for a swim and drowned but she won’t believe he is dead. So she is searching for Jack, while this guy ends up finding Maya and eventually they all end up together.

Through the POV’s we find out what exactly Asher/Jack is but you sort of get the since that you are not getting the whole story and he can’t remember things and has to rely on what the other ladies are telling him while he is also starting to have flashes of memory come back.

I thought the characters was okay, but not a lot of depth to them. I didn’t find myself really caring that much about any of them, but I did feel bad for Jack a little since the poor man was really figuring things out to slowly and I was like dude hurry and get your memory back before something bad happens!

I thought I was going to like this one but I ended up figuring out the whole thing and what exactly was going on before I was even halfway in, I think it’s really easy to figure out. There was a small twist at the end but for me it twisted the wrong way and made me hate the ending.

I might have gave it 3 stars if it wasn’t for the ending but that just ruined things for me. Now it might not bother others because some will say that is the authors vision for their work and that is fine but I like my endings a certain way! If it sound interesting give it a try but I can’t really recommend it.

Hannah Mary McKinnon is one of the few thriller writers that I will auto buy! Her plots are always refreshing, when I find the thriller genre to be over saturated right now. This was a fun ride, and a great summer thriller!

Holy smokes!! The book captured my heart with the epilogue. Omg! What an ending.

Three characters who were going through their own turmoil in life, Maya whose brother had disappeared, Lily whose boyfriend Jack had disappeared, and an unknown, amnesiac man found on the beach.

My second or third book by author Hannah Mary McKinnon, this was most easy to guess where the plot would go. The writing kept the story appear fresh, and I was almost enthralled to be proven right.

Each character’s motive was easy to guess. There were a couple of aftershocks but the entire story’s gasp value rested on the epilogue. Most unexpected, though I should have expected it.

It rocked…

If you haven't read this one yet I highly recommend it. It's an amnesia thriller that I couldn't put down.

It's so well composed, which can be difficult to pull off since in this case the character with amnesia lacked a reliable narrator to fill in his back story. We also get multiple POV's from our main characters:

The man on the beach: wakes up on a Maryland beach with no idea who or where he is. He gets flashes of his past but isn't sure what is reality.

Next comes Maya the step-sister to Asher. She is happily reunited with Asher since he left two years ago without a goodbye. She claims not to know why he left but is diligent in her attempts to control him and keep him with her.

Last we have Lily, Jack’s girlfriend. He up and left her one night and never returned. She loves Jack so much that she vows to find him, traveling the east coast to do so.

So who is the man on the beach? Is it Asher? Is it Jack? You’ll have to read it to find out!

If you are looking for a nail-biting thriller with dark secrets, lies, demented obsession, a murderer with a significant body count, and unhinged characters.....read this book. After reading The Neighbors I declared Hannah the queen of twisted plots and jaw-dropping endings and she didn’t let me down! She seems to get better with each book and I love it!!

Thank you to Hannah, @_mira_books_ and @netgalley for my digital copy of the book to review!!

I really enjoyed Hannah Mary McKinnon's Sister Dear, Her Secret Son, and The Neighbors, so I was excited to read You Will Remember Me...and it did not disappoint! You Will Remember Me is an amazing thriller...and twisted in the best kind of way. I liked that the story was told from three different perspectives, and Asher, Lily, and Maya were all incredibly well-written. I'm glad I got to read this novel, and I can't wait to see what McKinnon comes up with next. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read and review another great book by an incredible author. : )

I liked the pace of this novel, it was quick and interesting. The characters were interesting if not a little predictable. I really enjoyed reading, and thought the ending was great.

Lily's boyfriend Jack goes missing, while searching more of his past gets uncovered but she won't stop until she finds him. Maya's step brother jetted from her life and when he suddently reaches out to her claiming memory loss. When Lily manages to trace Jack's whereabouts to Maya she goes to help him to remember what he forgotten.

This was not what I expected which is pretty great. Going off by what the book was about I was going into this book forming my own ideas of how this book would go. I loved with each chapter pieces start to come together and I couldn't help but want more and there was no way I was gonna stop reading until the conclusion. I loved following long the point of views for Lily, Asher and Maya gives me a better idea of what they are like and motives. The ending was defiantly not what I expected which I loved all the more and highly recommend mystery lovers to check this book out.

I have never had an ARC expire before I finished but lets just say I won't make that mistake again. I was really enjoying this book. It grabbed me from the open. I did have to suspend disbelief to make it work. I mean, you wake up in an amnesic state and *think* that it feels right to go to Maine and there is a trailer with Maine plates that just happens to be going to Maine. I mean, not travelling around before going back but straight to Maine. Not only that but it just happens to be doing to a neighborhood in Maine where you lived. Have you seen Maine? It's HUGE!!!! He just happens to remember 6 digits of a number and is able to get the full number by trying on a pay phone with limited money and everyone just happens to be home and answers their phones. Nobody screens in Maine??? BUT that's how good this book was. I was willing to go along with every ride because I was in hook line and sinker. I will be purchasing the book to find out the ending I guess!!
