This is more creepy than an actual disturbing suspense thriller. I liked the ending but overall this falls in the middle as a mediocre=ish thriller. IT WAS NOT predictable and the family dynamic is a mess, girlfriend and stepsister but main character should have just stayed dead and disappeared.

Ok-ish but cannot really recommend. Liked the cover. Thanks to Netgalley, Hannah Mary McKinnon and Harlequin Trade Publishing Mira for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

_You Will Remember Me_ features multiple perspectives, and this makes for an entertaining read initially.

Lily and Jack are a couple, and when Jack goes missing - truck and clothes left abandoned at the beach, too - this causes obvious stress for Lily. Jack, however, seems to be missing permanently since he awakens as a mystery person and is shortly thereafter re-dubbed Ash by his step-sister, who tracks him down after his "disappearance." The step-sister is a real piece of work, to put it as mildly as possible. Once Jack/Ash ended up in his second location, I had a hard time continuing to care about what happened to him as the next steps felt pretty predictable. I found myself reading more to confirm suspicions than because I was entertained: the worst outcome for a thriller/mystery, IMO.

Although most of the novel felt overly expected, I will admit that there is one truly odd series of events near the end. This got my attention again, but I felt more disgusted than creeped out.

One idea I struggle with in this genre is the small-town setting. If everyone knows each other and there are a bunch of mysterious deaths and disappearances, how are they not able to narrow it down faster?

The titular promise is true; I will remember a particular scene in this book. Unfortunately, I don't expect that the novel as a whole is going to be one I remember fondly.

One word: WOW! What a disturbing thrill ride full of twisty turns that will make you dizzy, chilling chills that will hit your spine, thrilling thrills, and gasp worthy shocks! It’s well written, riveting, and deliciously dark! This book was definitely unputdownable, weaving you through the tangled mess, unraveling it, and absorbing you in the process! I highly, highly recommend this thrilling ride, especially if you’re like me and love disturbing and dark thrill rides!

Will make sure to buzz around platforms and use low Amazon reviewer number on release date!

This book is a sick read. It left me feeling uneasy and tainted. A man loses his memory on a beach. His girlfriend is searching for him. So is his stepsister, Maya. He should have stayed missing. As the horrific story unfolds, the inherent sickness of one of the women is very pronounced. She will stop at nothing to be with the man she loves. Sick, depreaved, and pernicious. It's fiction, but still, it gave me the willies.

Overall, I was a bit mixed on this.
Here's what I liked:
-alternating POVs in the chapters. This kept my attention.
-beginning of the story hooked me in.
-excellent imagery. Loved the setting and the beach scenes.
Honestly, the epilogue kind of ruined it for me. I'm not a fan of detailed explanations from characters. It takes away the mystery and leaves little to the imagination. I suppose there are some readers who like things tied with a nice bow, but I'm just not one of them - at least for this genre.
Since the above is more of a personal preference, I would likely still recommend this to friends.

A man wakes up on the beach with a gash in his head and can't remember who he is.. Lily Reid's boyfriend Jack went missing and she is desperate to have him back. Maya Scott is frantically looking for her estranged stepbrother Asher, and when she finds him, his memory is missing. The enthralling story takes readers on a journey as all of these lives intertwine, and it is a wild ride!

I love books that keep me in suspense so I don't know where they're going. This is one of those books! Lily wakes up one morning and discovers her boyfriend, Jack is missing. He'd gone swimming the night before so is presumably drowned. But Lily is determined to discover the truth when the investigation uncovers the fact that his driver's license is a fake and there's no one by that name in any database. But what she will discover is not what she will want to find out as her search leads her to Maya, her boyfriend's stepsister. And the secrets that lie beneath the surface about their past are unbelievable and shocking. Get ready for a thrill-ride like no other...and don't even try to predict the ending! Yikes!

An excellent book that will leave you wanting more. Who is Jack? You will be turning pages as fast as you can to find out who he really is and why he created a new identity.

What would you do for love...Lily wakes up one day and realizes her boyfriend Jack isn’t in bed with her. She goes out looking for him and finds his car and personal items by the beach but no sign of Jack. She is immediately fearful that something happened to him on his morning swim...

Jack finds himself on the beach one morning but has no recollection of how he got there and has no memory of who he is or anything to do with his past. He manages to find his step sister, Maya, who is so glad she found him as she has been searching for him for two years. She tries to help him regain his memories of his past but he soon realizes the past might come back to haunt him.

The author is one of my favourites and i absolutely loved her last book and was very excited to read this one. I would say this one peaked my interest early on and I couldn’t wait to see where the story went. The middle got a bit slow but I felt was a necessary build up and the ending was absolutely fantastic. The chapters are told from the POV of Lily, Jack and Maya which I loved. It was an interesting way of telling a story of family and love and what lengths someone will go to in order to protect it. I definitely would recommend this book to everyone

Forget the truth. Remember the lies. I love that. You Will Remember Me by Hannah Mary McKinnon is fast-paced, thrilling, and laced with wit, and I enjoyed every second of it. I loved this premise and trying to figure out these three characters. The ending was sinister and jaw-dropping -- classic Hannah Mary McKinnon!

I was disappointed in this book until the action packed, shocking ending- that why I’m giving it a higher score than I originally planned on. I had a hard time retaining information and remembering whose point of view it was. The ending was great. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a free copy in exchange for review.

Loved it! It’s definitely my new favorite book of hers and it has a little bit of a more creepy vibe than her others. I couldn’t put it down and when I had to stop I thought about it all day until I could pick it back up! Sooo goood!

You Will Remember Me is yet another enjoyable thriller from Hannah Mary McKinnon. Although predictable, (it's obvious pretty early on who the bad guy is) with many twists that are foreseeable, I still found the book to be fast paced and action packed. I was intrigued from beginning to end to see how everything would play out, and I wasn't disappointed.

Unfortunately I did not enjoy this book as much as I hoped. I usually love her books, but this story line just feels tired to me. Amnesia, false identities, so many of these play a role in thrillers that I just don't enjoy it as much as I want to. The characters in the story were well written, I just didn't really get into the plot.

✨Book Review✨
You Will Remember Me is Hannah Mary McKinnon's latest thriller and oooh is it ever a good one!
❤️
What starts out as a case of amnesia soon morphs into an intricate web of lies and deceit. Told from three perspectives, this story will keep you guessing at every turn. As much as I thought I knew what was going to happen, I was often very, very wrong.
💙
As many of you know, I adore Jennifer Hillier. Fans of Creep will greatly enjoy this read. It might even make an appearance .... 😉
🤍
I love that each narration is in the first person, so the reader gets an inside look at each character's motivations - including the more disturbing ones. From kindness to confusion to insanity, we see it all.

YOU WILL REMEMBER ME by Hannah Mary McKinnon is a riveting and diabolical psychological thriller that I absolutely couldn’t put down. I have read all of her books and this is definitely the best yet. A man wakes up on a Maryland beach with a gash on his head and no recollection of who he is. When Lily Reid’s boyfriend goes missing one night, she soon learns he is not at all who she thinks he is. Maya Scott has been searching for her stepbrother, Asher since he disappeared without a trace years before. When Ash returns to the Maine town where he and Maya lived, she is ecstatic to have him back even though he is suffering from amnesia. Soon he is struggling with the emergence of dark memories that may or may not be real. As the story unfolds, layer upon layer of secrets and lies are peeled back with breath-taking suspense. This perfectly-plotted story took me on a wild ride right up until the shocking conclusion. I loved this sinister and twisty thriller and highly recommend it! Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the chance to read an early copy.

Misery Loves Company. McKinnon gets bold, trying to tell one cohesive story from three separate primary perspectives - and largely having it work. The ending itself isn't quite as mind-bending as her 2020 release Sister Dear, and perhaps elements of it are in fact fairly well established much earlier in the text. But it also isn't *quite* so predictable as some other reviewers make it seem, as many of the actual details aren't really known until McKinnon actively reveals them. And then that ending. Mind-bending? No. But showing that McKinnon has balls bigger than many male authors? Absolutely. ;) Very much recommended.
