A virtual "grab-bag" of short horror stories, no two stories share a theme. A great book to pick up if you're in a reading slump and don't know what you want. There's something for every horror fan.

Short stories always seem to be hit or miss with me. There were some good storylines in Dusk, some of which were very creepy. If you like horror short stories and are looking for something unusual to add to your October reads, check this one out.

Typically not a fan of short stories, I'm glad I found this book. It had some truly surprising stories that are perfect for those seeking horror. Thank you to Netgalley and Eddie Generous for the ARC>

I believe (?) this book is a self-published collection of short horror stories. With 28 stories, this is definitely one the biggest collection of short stories I've read.

Generous writes about all the kinds of horrors - from a neglectful mother leaving her child in the woods, to a couple trying to stay alive during a zombie apocalypse. There probably is a story that appeals to everyone in this collection.

I think this would be a good collection to work through in Halloween season.

Thank you to the author and NetGalley for providing me a copy of this book for review.

Lots of stories crammed into here, with a mix of lengths and subjects, which is great. "Beyond the Glass" is a real stand out,

Very well developed characters and an extremely engaging story. Well thought out and very suspenseful story line that keeps the reader guessing until the final twist! This is the book to read this year! Highly recommended!

Dusk was a pleasure to read. First of all I want to say that I appreciate that so many of these stories have an underlying message of anti-bigotry. It's obvious that Eddie Generous does not take kindly to the idea of hating someone because of their color, sexual preference, weight, religion, and in " Red Hats" I could see what side of the political fence Mr. Generous stands on. I'm right there with you buddy!
The deeper I got into this book the better it got. I found the writing to be impeccable and descriptive, the characters fully developed and just the right amount of "but I want more...." at many endings. As I read Dance or Die I kept thinking of Stephen King's The Long Walk. In "story notes" I see that King was a great inspiration to Mr. Generous. It shows, in a good way. I think that Stephen King fans would enjoy these stories. Proper Farmer made me think of "Christine" and makes so called gas-guzzlers seem like dream machines.
I actually avoid comparing writers to each other because I think each writer is unique, but in this case I think it's fair. These stories bring Stephen King to mind and Eddie Generous mentions Stephen King as a great influence. Yes, Stephen King is brilliant but these are stories written by Eddie Generous, not Stephen King, and they stand on their own merit. I see real talent in this writing and look forward to more .from Eddie Generous. Thank you netgalley for allowing me to read and review Dusk.

Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC of this book. Eddie Generous is a great writer. This is the second collection I have read by him and I prefer his stories to his "creature features "
