A modernized version of the famous film "You've Got Mail", this story is about Gracie and Sebastian, who meet by accident on a website and embark on a flirty relationship. It's a sweet, enemies-to-lovers story, but I wished that there had been a little more action and steam. I definitely moved a big too slowly for my taste.

If I could give this book 100 stars I would! I absolutely adored this love story that was so cute and reminded me of a modern You've Got Mail (which happens to be a favorite movie of mine)! It was perfectly executed with suspense, relatable/lovable characters, and swoon worthy moments! I will be recommending this to anyone who loves romance, and I foresee a reread in my future!

This is close to You Got Mail and you can see where the author got their inspiration from.

I like a good enemies to lovers book and this had a little twist with it since Grace was chatting with a mystery man online.

There were parts of the book that were a little flat but if you’re looking for a nice, romance read this would be it.

Anything related to You Got Mail is insta buy! And also this book debuted on my birthday so of course I had to read it. This book is like a typical rom com and also it isn’t. I like the modern references of dating in our era but also it has an old school feel to the story. I love Gracie and Sebastian!! I would love for this story to be played out as Hallmark movie!

This was ok, I wasn’t completely in love with the leads, but it was a quick read. I don’t think I would read another book from this author.

This book was so cute. While us was a fairly predictable chick flick type book the writing style and the characters were so interesting. I really fell in love with the characters and wanted them to all be happy at the end.

To Sir With Love was an adorable romance story that warmed my heart. I wasn’t even halfway through the first chapter and couldn’t stop smiling! If you love romance that gives you all the feels and has the most wonderful HEA, then this is your book!

Life feels most real when I’m writing to you, when I see your screen name in my in-box. I don’t know your name. Your face. Your age. But I have the sense I know you. And that you know me too, in a way perhaps nobody else does.

Gracie Cooper continued her dad’s legacy by running the family champagne shop. Even though it wasn’t her dream in life, her true passion was painting. Gracie was trying to keep the shop in the black, and it seemed like she wasn’t truly living. Well, except for when she was messaging with Sir. Sir was someone she met through an online dating app. They had no clue what each looked like, but they clicked so well. And with each message that was sent back and forth, Gracie fell that much harder for Sir.

Sebastian nods slowly. “I get that too. It’s not high school territory. It’s human territory. Nobody wants to learn they’re the only one feeling things.”
Our eyes lock for a moment that feels . . . important, somehow.
We both look away.

Sebastian Andrews met Gracie randomly and there was something between them. But he ended up being the man who wanted to buy out Gracie’s shop lease and he seemed to have a beautiful girlfriend. Gracie refused Sebastian’s offers, time and again and I loved the animosity that seemed to be between them. And while Gracie didn’t like what Sebastian stood for, she couldn’t deny there was chemistry, passion and heat between them. No matter how much she didn’t want it to be there.

“You ever feel completely convinced you’re supposed to be with someone but have no idea how to go about it?”
“Actually. Yes. Twice,” he admits. “You?”
“Yeah.” My voice is quiet now, nearly a whisper. “Twice.”
His eyes darken in what seems to be irritation or . . . jealousy?

Gracie was lovable, thoughtful, caring and I was just as confused about what to do as she was. Because the more time Gracie spent around Sebastian, she realized he did have a heart. He did care. He also listened and showed up at her shop’s events. And it didn’t matter that Gracie tried to not like him, there was that attraction between them that felt like a flame being fanned into an inferno. But then there was also Sir. Seeing the messages they sent back and forth made my heart so happy and I was slowly falling in love too. Their messages were fun, flirty and as the story unfolded, they shared some of their secrets and most intimate thoughts with one another.

“Why?”I ask softly. “Why did you tell me to pursue the other guy?”
He steps closer, lifting a hand to rest his fingertips lightly against my cheek. “Because you said you loved him. Because you deserve your fairy-tale ending. And because I’d do anything for you, Gracie Cooper. Even if it means letting you go.”

This story was rounded out with side characters that felt just as real as Gracie, Sebastian and Sir. May, Gracie’s siblings and friends, to even the short moment we were with Sebastian’s parents oh my heart. I loved them all! But at the base of the story was Gracie and I was so unsure which path she should take. Sir or Sebastian. With butterflies, jealousy, flirting, friendship and the starting of so much more, I was obsessed. This story not only made me cry a few times, but one of those moments I was laughing while tears were falling down my face. I loved this story so much!

“It’s you,” I say softly. “It’s always been you.”
“Yes.” He whispers it, his hand lifting toward my face, hesitating. Then, very gently, he sets his fingers to my cheek, his thumb catching a tear I didn’t realize had fallen. “Yes.”

This modern day twist on You’ve Got Mail was addictive, charming, romantic and so much fun! And I have to let you know that I went into this story completely blind, its LL so I know I’ll love her books. I’m so glad I did because the last sentence in the synopsis gives away something and I’m beyond thankful I was oblivious, it made the story that much more fun! Heads up that this isn’t one of LL’s sexy stories, but for me I didn’t even need that at all! So if you’re a fan of adult romance that makes you smile, laugh and possibly even cry, then you definitely need this book in your life!

Wow. This book was amazing. I was a little mad at the characters every once in a while because they definitely should've known sooner, but I think everything ended up exactly how it needed to be.

From someone who's favorite movie is 'You've Got Mail', this book was absolutely amazing and I loved every second of it.!

Gracie is a fun main character and I loved her family dynamic and how it grew throughout the book. I could really picture myself with her in the champagne shop and walking through central park.

Sebastian is a guy you love to hate but you just don't know why. I could picture him like Tom Hanks so much in You've Got Mail and I enjoyed learning about his life more.

If you're looking for a fun, fast paced, enemies to loves book set in NYC with fun minor characters, you will enjoy this book and now I can't wait to read anything else this author writes.

Thank you Netgalley and the author for this ARC.

unlike lauren layne's previous books this one did not keep me entertained. i found the main character to be tedious and the wrenches thrown into the relationship to be extremely forced and ridiculous.

This charmingly engaging romance set in NYC is perfect for lovers of You've Got Mail. This was a cute a charming story that give us pen pals to lovers AND enemies to lovers, I loved the supporting characters and most of all I loved the hero and heroine. Gracie and Sebastian were not perfect, they were flawed and they each had their personal problems to deal with but they were a joy to read about. They were each other's opposite but still perfect for each other. Their interaction made me smile and feel all warm and fuzzy inside. The chemistry between them was sizzling

What a fabulous, adorable and cute book from my favorite romance/chick lit author Lauren Layne!
At first when I started reading I thought it was moving so very, very, slow, and I wasn't sure if I was liking it very much. The story was interesting, but really slow to start. But as I read, on through one-fourth of the book, I fell in love with the characters Gracie Cooper, and Sebastian Andrews. The story went into detail about each main character, their past, and their family that came together for one fabulous ending. I just LOVED the ending! Great story, writing and character development by the author. I read the kindle version (ARC) and then started to like the book so much after one fourth through the book, that I purchased the Audible version so when I couldn't read I could listen. Excellent narration by Rachanee Lumayno and Shaun Taylor-Corbett. I HIGHLY recommend the Kindle or Audiobook to anyone who loves a clean romance/chick lit story with no foul language or graphic sex scenes. .
A very special thank you to Gallery Books via NetGally for the advanced readers kindle copy in exchange for my honest review.

This story gave me the all the You've Got Mail vibes with an independent woman trying to make ends meet in her small, NY shop and a man who arrives to her shop one day to confront her about the harsh fiscal realities that her family's small shop is facing. I loved the tension between Gracie and Sebastian. The reader knows that Gracie is spending time with Sebastian in person while also communicating with a mystery man via letters, and the more that Gracie and Sebastian get to know one another and see behind each others' outward appearances, the more Gracie is caught between these two different men.

I really enjoyed this sweet romance story! It was fun to read, unique in it's style of writing, and kept me turning page after page to see how these two could find their own happily ever after!

Thanks so much to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for an advanced copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

The perfect read for a NYC rom-com lover. This book instantly reminded me of You've Got Mail from the setting to the small business being bought out by the big bad corporation. I loved how each chapter opens with the exchange between Lady and Sir, and while predictable this was an overall enjoyable quick romantic comedy.

Another winner from Lauren Layne. I loved this updated, refreshed, and reinvigorated version of the classic movie The Shop Around The Corner.

I wanted to love this - it was described as a spin on ”You’ve Got Mail,” and I can see the comparison - Gracie’s shop is close to going out of business plus she is “in love” with an anonymous person from a dating app. Sebastian is hoping to buy her business, and goes by “Sir” on the same dating app. However, I’d skip reading this version and just watch the movie - I feel like this troupe has been done before and has been done better.

Thanks to @NetGalley and Gallery Books for my ARC!

After growing up on stories of beautiful princesses, Prince Charming, and that One True Love, it’s easy to get caught up in the notion that life should be like a fairy tale. But in To Sir, with Love by Lauren Layne, one woman is forced to reconsider those fairy tale notions...
