Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy!
The site didn't let me rate 3.5 stars, but that is my actual rating of Gamora and Nebula.
I really enjoyed the portrayal of sisterhood in alternating perspectives. Nebula and Gamora are enjoyable characters in comics and thr MCU. Unfortunately, that means that there is also an expectation as to the personalities of the characters. It's not as bad as some say, but it does feel off.
That aside, I enjoy Mackenzi Lee's writing style. And looking at the story from a fresh perspective, I can see it as being a really good read.

I received an eARC of this book from Netgalley, Marvel Press and Disney Publishing Worldwide in exchange for an honest review.

I squealed with joy when I fould out I got an eARC of this book, and I was not let down. This book was really really great. As someone who is an insae MCU fan I couldn't help but adore this book. Gamora, Nebula and Thanos are such intriguing characters and this book gave such great insight into each of them. I think my favorite parts if the whole book had to be any fo the scenes with The GrandMaster, I read them all in Jeff Goldblumes voice and it did not dissapoint. The story was great, the writing was awesome and I adored the dialogue and the dynamics between the characters. Mackenzie Lee KILLED IT with this book and just.. wow. Thank you Netgalley, Marvel Press and Disney Publishing Worldwide for sending me the eARC of this book, I truly appreciated it.

Thank you Net Galley and Marvel Press for a free ARC.

This book was excellent. I enjoyed how fast paced the book moved. Also the POV changing from each sister was enjoyable for me because we get to learn more about both Nebula and Gamora's personalities. This book was a little bit of a slow build at first however it did take off quickly once the sisters met up with each other. I really did enjoy this book and would probably read it again. Being a fan of Marvel I really was glad to finally get a book with both of these two sisters.

DNF @ 50%. I tried so hard to like this and get into the story, despite knowing in the first few chapters that this one wasn’t for me. I’m a huge Marvel fan, but this just didn’t connect for me. The characters seemed off. I also really didn’t like the overly sexual tone in the beginning, especially the encounter with a woman who was basically a prostitute. Not for me, but I seem to be in the minority here.

Thanks i suppose to the publisher and Netgalley for providing this arc.

This was astonishingly mediocre. I'm a great fan of the franchise so it was definitely a total flop!!

An excellent story of the messy bond between sisters. Perfect for younger readers who are fans of the MCU and want to know more about what happened to Gamora and Nebula before the movie story starts.

A beautiful story about sisterly bonds featuring some of our favorite Marvel females. This story was so fun and enjoyable and Mackenzi Lee did such a brilliant job bringing the world of Marvel into novel form.

I thought this book was interesting and engaging. I really enjoyed learning more about these two characters, and I think any fan of the MCU will enjoy this book. I like the pacing of the book as well as the plot development, and I feel like it is a stand-out among its peer group of books. The plot was easy to follow, and I liked that the book was easy to read as well. Sometimes the Marvel world can get a little confusing, but this book ensures that no reader is left behind. I love these characters even more now!

NETGALLEY ARC

Okay. Wow. Just...holy shit, was that fantastic. Engaging and insightful and heartbreaking, peppered in with some hilarious moments ala the Grandmaster (of course). The story is exceptionally well-written (I lost count of how many lines I highlighted) and has a wonderful flow to it. It's inclusive and, in my opinion, very progressive with its treatment of the intended target audience (from casual swearwords to the lowercasing of 'god'). I didn't have one g-dang complaint, unless the fact that the book ended counts? xD I cannot recommend it enough to Marvel fans, to space opera fans. If there are more stories to follow, I will jubilantly purchase and consume them, but I am also content with this gem. That's what the comics and films are for - though this was special for the in-between moments that the mentioned avenues can't always allow time for.

Okay. I liked this a lot, but stopped short of loving it. Yes, it is YA, and yes, it is bound to the Marvel U proper rather than the MCU, but seems like it's trying to take from both? The keep-you-guessing part of the plot (involving Gamora, Nebula, The Grandmaster, a leader of a corrupt church [redundant?], a bunch of exploited miners led by a victimized person and someone who is transparently Thanos) is interesting, but feels rushed at the end, and the back-and-forth nature of trust and manipulation between the sisters is also really interesting, but falls into the void of "more story to tell?" at the end. Fun, but unsatisfying, ultimately. Maybe there's more coming?

I really enjoyed reading this book, I had read the Loki: Where Mischief Lies, and was excited to see how Ms. Lee would create a voice for Gamora and Nebula. I'm glad I read this book, it really had what I enjoyed from the Loki book and made it unique for both Gamora and Nebula. The story itself was well done and I enjoyed going on this story. I'd be interested in reading more from this series and from the author as she really hooked me in from these two books.

This is a wonderful addition to the Marvel Universe. It was great to learn more about Gamora and Nebula, their relationship, their life with Thanos, and to see what they are thinking. I really enjoyed how the novel alternated chapters from Gamora's and Nebula's point of view. The little chapter in-betweens helped to build suspense and to further deepen what is really happening on this quest for Gamora. The suspense and fight scenes were riveting and had me anxious about what the outcomes would be. This novel is easy to read and appropriate for high school students and middle graders.

Gamora and Nebula by Mackenzi Lee is a fun and entertaining read. I loved following the (chaotic) sisters throughout the Marvel movies and this book gives a little more insight into their relationship. They have ups, downs, and many fights, but in the very core of their relationship, they are sisters through and through. Highly recommended for Marvel fans wanting more Gamora and Nebula (while waiting for the next movie to come out)!

Disclaimer: I got this ARC in exchange for an honest review from @NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

I absolutely loved reading about Gamora & Nebula's relationship. They have such a complicated bond. and OMG THE SECRETS THAT IS REVEALED IN THIS BOOK! WOW. I have to admit I wasn't a fan of Nebula (and I'm still not a huge fan) but I finally understood her story (probably an unpopular opinion). I loved reading about Gamora!! This is perfect for families to read together.

I didn't read comics growing up so had no idea these lovely ladies even existed until GOTG came to movies. How I wish I did! When I saw there was a new novel available about them only I had to get it and was fortunate enough to score a ARC from NetGalley and Disney publishing for my honest opinion. Well this Novel did not disappoint! You get the bickering and competition you expect from the Sisters along with their bond for each other. The story was enjoyable and moved along nicely to keep you entertained. I'll be sure to check out the other novels by this author since she did a good job with representing Nebula and Gamora.

I might just be biased because Gamora and Nebula are two of my favorite characters in the Marvel universe, but I really enjoyed this book. The characters are very Intune with how they are in the movies, and their relationship as sisters is a view I was very excited to see. Since the movies don't go too much into their relationship, it was great to get insight into the backstory of these characters. While the book is written for people around 12, it can be read by people of all ages. It's a great addition to the Marvel universe.

I was intrigued with this book from the moment I heard Mackenzi Lee would be publishing it. I fell in love with her as an author after picking up "Loki". Gamora & Nebula did not disappoint me once. The story had absorbed me from beginning to end; as any good book should.
I will admit Gamora is not a favourite character of mine from all my years of being a Marvel fan, but that did not stop me from being in love with the story. This story is focused heavily between the bonds of sisters, and the rivalry the two share. I felt it was a common theme through the novel, and Lee did an excellent job exploring this major theme and explaining the motives of both main characters.
I cannot wait to see what else Lee comes up with next as I am always in awe of her writing.

I'll be honest, I'm in love with Marvel. I have watched Marvel movies since I was in school and they've always given me a place to escape to. Before that I was a massive fan of the original Captain America comics. I have a long history with Marvel and I was really excited to read this.

Nebula and Gamora's story was of particular interest to me, because I didn't know much about them. I watched Guardians of the Galaxy, of course, as I'm sure most of us have, and I always wondered if there was more to the story. Who were Nebula and Gamora before they hated each other? Why did they hate each other. Surely there was more to the story than what was written into the screenplay.

And I was right. This book was so interesting to me. It told a story of sisterhood, of a bond that can't be broken even when there is hatred for each other. This was a quick and refreshing book to read between my current binge of thrillers and I really enjoyed it.

Another great Marvel story. I have very strong opinions on this title. The dynamics between Gamora and Nebula were never of interest to me. However, this novel truly changed my opinion about their sisterhood. Their back and forth drama and sisterhood. It truly opened my eyes into their personalities.

Full disclosure: I love superhero stories, especially ones with women superheroes. That said, I’m not a huge Marvel fan. I mean, I’ve seen all the movies, but I am more likely to pick up something from DC to read.

I couldn’t resist this one about Gamora and Nebula though as I like both of them, and Gamora (along with Baby Groot) has always been the highlight of the Guardians of the Galaxy movies for me. This is an excellent book! I loved it!

It kept me interested and wondering where it would go next. Plenty of adventure and badass women too. (Also, I loved that Gamora got hit on by a woman and that there were several mentions of wlw side characters.) I’d recommend this to any superhero fans, fans of space adventure stories, and fans of books with strong heroines. Very enjoyable.
