I made it about half way through this book but was just not invested in the couple. It was disappointing because I really enjoyed the first book.

Wreckless is the second title in the Moto Grand Prix series, and what a sizzling, involved, nail-biter of a story it turned out to be!

Massimo and Lorelai. I can’t remember the last time a “love to hate each other” couple grabbed me by the emotions and held me tight until the final page like these two did. Massimo knows his woman, that’s for sure because Lorelai needs to know that she’s making it through the ranks to the very top all on her own since she’s dealing with a very male-oriented racing sport. She’s focused, more than a bit stubborn, and a champion in the making – so what if some think she’s a diva, she’s actually a strong woman who is completely focused on her end goals.

Massimo. While I always fall a bit in love with heroes, Massimo is… simply amazing. I loved watching him slowly, determinedly breaking down Lorelai’s walls and showing her what they could have together should she take that risk.

Without giving away spoilers I can’t really say how I felt about parts of the ending of Wreckless. I understood it… but was left wondering if one decision was the best choice, but then since there are more stories to come in this series, one day I’ll find out. Regardless of that one question in my mind, I absolutely loved being in this world and cannot wait to return for the next story. If you love a romance with strong characters, obstacles to overcome, and determined people then the Moto Grand Prix series and Massimo’s and Lorelai’s story would be perfect for you.

Although I’ll always recommend reading a series from the start if at all possible, I really believe the way that this world is developing that reading in order will give you a better overview of the entire series (I also understand that isn’t always a choice, so you do what’s best for you) yet you can pick this one up and read it without feeling lost or wondering what’s gone on before as the important things will be mentioned in dialogue or narrative.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

Complementary copy given for honest review and opinion. Copy provided by NetGalley. Opinions are my own. Fun, hot and fast romance. A great read the back porch with wine. I really enjoyed Katie Golding;s writing style but this book could do with a bit less racing scenes. Great character build ups with memorable strong characters.

I finished this book a couple days ago and I initially gave it a four star rating, but I literally have not stopped thinking about it since I finished it. The audiobook really made this book for me because of the accent, I think, for the narrator for Massimo. I just... I love him. I love Lorelei. This book was such a well done rivals to lovers with real hate to love vibes, but underneath the hate to love was simmering sexual tension and the fact that actually Massimo had been in love with Lorelei forever.

I guess I should actually mention what this book is about. Essentially Massimo and Lorelei race moto pro, which basically means that they race motorcycles, which seems absurdly dangerous for little reward, but what do I know? Anyway, they've been long time rivals since they came up together and they go hard on the track. Lorelei gets injured pretty badly during one of the races and that's when things start to change between them.

I would classify this book as a slow burn, but in such a way where the tension is pretty high the entire time because you know what they feel for one another and you just want them to get there. This book involves keeping secrets in such a way that got a little aggravating at some points, but also fit with the characters and who they were. I also really liked how this book sort of deals with trauma, but I do wish it had leaned in a little more and maybe Lorelei could have gone to a sports psychologist or something. Nevertheless, I thought this book and the Italian were so delightful, I would definitely recommend! I will say there is a lot of gear shifting talk that fits with the characters and there is a lot of racing stuff, so this is a sports romance that leans into the sports part, but if that doesn't sound completely awful to you, I would definitely recommend!

Wreckless (Moto Grand Prix #2). By Katie Golding. 2021. Sourcebooks Casablanca (ARC eBook).

Two long-time rivals on the professional moto circuit enter the next phase of their careers as they try to reconcile their complex emotions for each other in this enemies-to-lovers sports romance. After Fearless (Moto Grand Prix #1), I was wanting to read the next book even though going in I wasn’t sure if I would care much for Lorelai. Lorelai is driven and reckless in her desire to win and prove herself. While Massimo has to win in order to save his family from ruin. There is chemistry and emotion and some family; although it is Massimo’s family and friend who get more time. The stuff concerning the friend was awkward, but there is complexity to the characters that can be appreciated. Overall, I liked Wreckless quite a bit. It will be interesting to see if Mason’s story will be all moto or a mix with rodeo like Billy and Taryn’s was.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for an advanced copy of ‘Wreckless’ by Katie Golding. Thoughts and opinions are my own.

After not really vibing with either of the main characters in the first book I wanted to give the sequel a chance and I’m so glad I did! Even in the first book I enjoyed the motocross world despite knowing nothing about the sport. It’s just such a unique setting that’s unlike all the other contemporary romances out there. It feels so fresh and exciting a setting. I also loved both Massimo and Lorelai. I mean, it’s impossible not to love Massimo, he was totally swoon-worthy. I also liked Lorelai’s fire even when it burned both her and Massimo. The conflicts of the story were compelling as both characters have their reasons for winning and that more often than not brought out the worst in one another. The development of their relationship was so emotional and hot and ultimately satisfying.

I’ll definitely be picking up the final book in this series.

This book became boring pretty quickly. When I was done with only 16%, I knew this book was gonna be a torture to finish. Wouldn't have continued if I didn't have a racing prompt to finish. Ugh! Even though I skimmed so freaking much, I didn't miss anything important whatsoever. I can't believe I actually read this book. Sigh! The characters were awful. Specially Massimo. He was disgusting. Their relationship was pretty toxic tbh if you think about it. But whatever. I don't care anymore. I didn't like this book at all.

This action packed romance book was so unexpectedly good that I'm so angry that it took me this long to read it.
Massimo is amazing! So amazing I want my own Massimo!
This was my first book by this author and I'm sure it won't be the last one!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for the chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Instantly intrigued by the blurb, I jumped at the chance to read WRECKLESS. I missed the fact that this was book 2 in the Moto Grand Prix series, so I was a little lost there in the beginning. But thankfully as the story picked up, I was able to figure things out without any problem. Unfortunately, I overestimated my interest in the motorcycle racing world, because I soon found myself skimming through these parts to get to the interactions between Massimo and Lorelai. I enjoyed their bickering and banter, but I would have loved to see their connection developed a bit more. I think that all the details related to the racing just made it hard for me to get invested in their relationship. IDK, I wanted to see more of them together, I think they had great chemistry and a deeper bond than what made it to the page.

All in all, an okay read for me that left me wanting more of the romance and less of the motorcycle racing.

I did enjoy this book overall but I wasn’t in love with it. The story was interesting. I loved the look inside the Motoworld and did enjoy the relationship between the main characters. I was also confused but the Santos character because he was never really “resolved” in the story.

This book was so much more than I was expecting. I wasn’t prepared for Massimo and Lorelai, their intense chemistry, the fever on the tracks, and a writing style that blew me away.

I fell in love with both main characters. Massimo is a textbook latin lover–sensual Italian words, extreme romanticism, some fire, and a touch of danger–while Lorelai was more complicated than your typical cowgirl–sure, she grew up in a ranch, but in a wealthy family, and though she’s merciless on the tracks, she isn’t quite a tomboy either, cue sexy gala gowns. Between them, there were fireworks, both from passion and anger. Don’t expect a dull moment between them.

The pace of the story was perfect, with quieter times between intense races and emotional scenes. But with the passion shown by both characters, I was expecting a few more intimate scenes.

As I love some sports in my sports romance, I was more than served. Here, motorcycles are part of the story–as well as the imagery. You don’t even have to like them. The author’s words sweep you away and you’re left with hands in fists, heart beating fast, waiting for the final lap. As good as on TV.

Prepare yourself to pull an all nighter, because you won’t be able to put this book down.

Wreckless my first Katie Golding read was a great story. That clearly showcased the love Ms Golding has for Moto GP, and combined that love and knowledge with a romance that was engaging and enjoyable to read.

And I was really drawn into the story, the characters and the racing itself, which is nicely classified by updates of the results of each round of racing, and I found myself getting really involved checking not only where Massimo and Lorelai finished, but some of the other characters too.

Furthermore, I enjoyed the off circuit drama of the characters. The issues they faced, and struggles they had and whilst I never really saw Massimo and Lorelai as enemies I can see how the trope was used to great effect.

And it was a great introduction to the world of Moto GP, and the characters and I'll definitely go back and read Taryn and Billy's story as well as any future ones.

Would recommend.

This is the first book I've read by Katie Golding. I chose it because of the cover and the blurb. I love watching the Supercross, Outdoor Nationals, and American Flat Track racing. I thought that this might be similar. HA. I did learn some about Moto GP though. I'll even look it up to watch and see if I catch the sports bike racing bug.

As a woman rider, I loved this book. Lorelai was smart, strong, and fearless. But human, real. She struggled as well. As I was reading this book, I wanted to be her. Massimo was loyal and true. I wanted to kick him a few times, but he redeemed himself over and over. I loved how strong family ties were for both characters. I was so invested in their story, I was having trouble putting the book down when needed. The author evoked many emotions. The way she ended the book. GAHHHHH. It was great! Anytime I'm so invested in a book, I give it a five star rating. I saw this was book two of a series and have bought book one to catch up with the series. I look forward to the next book as well.

Wreckless is the second book in the Moto Grand Prix series by Katie Golding. A fast-paced steamy romance that pulls you in and leaves you wanting more.

Massimo and Lorelai have been competing on the professional moto circuit for years. Their story is told in their alternating voices. Lorina is driven to win and Massimo has to win. Lorelai has a lot to prove being one of the only women competing at this level. She has a love hate relationship with Massimo. Early on, the fact that Massimo has loved Lorelai for a long time is clear, but he has to protect his sponsorship. When Lorelai suffers a serious crash she will have to learn to get back on the bike and compete at a level to stay on her team. As Massimo gets closer to his goal, he can be more open about his feelings, will Lorelai be vulnerable enough to risk a chance at love? Author does a great job with the racing descriptions as well as weaving their love story to a satisfying conclusion.

4 1/2 Stars for this slow burn romance!

This book had me from the first chapter ... I couldn't put it down. I love Lorelai and Massimo! Their love / hate relationship has been going on for 10 years (since they were 15 years old). Massimo riles her up every single race and she take the bait ... every single time. And Massimo ... who wouldn't love a hunk speaking Italian to you? It doesn't even matter if you don't know what he's saying ... lol. Massimo's story broke my heart ... taking his family's problems on his shoulders at such a young age. I loved the banter between the characters ... they would get up in each other's face. Just like what happens in real life ... not everyone gets along. I also liked how Ms Golding put in the race ranking after each race. I don't know anything about the sport, but she made me feel like I was actually watching the race. I can't wait for Mason's story, as he's up next! This is a great series and I highly recommend it.

Trigger warning: graphic description of motorcycle accident
-
Told in two POVs, WRECKLESS follows professional motorcycle racers Massimo and Lorelai. After a terrible accident, Lorelai’s confidence has taken a major hit and Massimo sets aside their rivalry to remind her that nothing can stop her. After spending 10 years as rivals, they’re finally ready to admit their true feelings, even if it costs them everything.

I love a good rivals to lovers story and I knew from chapter 1 that this was going to be a thrilling read. The racing left me breathless! It was so intense. Each race, I was at the edge of my seat waiting to find out where they placed. This is a long book— 416 pages— so I was worried that it would lose its appeal, but oh, I needed to know how it would end for Massimo and Lorelai! If you enjoy rivals to lovers, you’ll love those two— they’re hot heads who are so undeniably hot for each other.

Wreckless, is such an exciting book. I could practically see the races and the crashes. I enjoyed reading it very much. Massimo never gave up on Lorelai. Thank goodness because she needed his encouragement.

Wreckless was such a good read! It had action, tension, heat, angst, and everything in between! I loved how high the stakes were all throughout the book so that we were kept at the edge of our seats until the end. Katie Golding is an incredible author, her prose is beautiful, and I love how she integrated Italian words and accents through the book to add another level of realism. This is extremely subjective, but there were a lot of technical scenes related to moto racing, which weren't necessarily my cup of tea, but if you loved the action-packed racing scenes in Fearless, then you will absolutely love this book! I also thought there were moments where the dynamics between the two love interests (two competing moto racers) were unclear. They were in love, then mad at each other, then ignoring each other, and I was often confused as to why their relationship was variating this much from day to day, especially since most problems could've been solved with a single conversation. Even so, this was an awesome story, Massimo is a sweetheart and owns my heart, Lorelai is a badass bitch who deserves all the love in the world, and I'm excited to read the third installment in this series!

I enjoyed book two of this series, although perhaps not as much as book 1 with its rodeo setting! I enjoyed the Moto setting for sure, especially the rivals aspect. Each main character definitely had some great conflicts helping to drive their motivations. Unfortunately I just didn't connect as much with the romance as I would have liked--to me it felt rushed, which is sad because certain aspects have been building for a long time. But overall I still enjoyed the book and am looking forward to future installments!
