Danielle Steel is an amazing storyteller, and I cannot remember reading a book she has written that I did not enjoy. She writes books that pull you right in and Finding Ashley is no exception. Thoroughly enjoyed. #FindingAshley #NetGalley

Not Danielle Steels best but still a good read! I liked the characters but it was a bit slow at times. I rate this book a 3.2

Danielle Steele spun a spellbinding tale about the choices we make when we are young, and how they affect our future. I was hooked from the first page to the last. Amazing work - thank you Danielle Steele for always bringing issues people face into your stories so we don’t feel alone in the world.

I enjoyed this book, but she has gotten to where she tells a story like she is talking to you and the characters do not interact. If that makes sense. I might would still recommend this book. I gave a 4 star because it was just written in monotone.

Danielle Steel is my favorite author and while I enjoy some of her books more than others, I can say this is a favorite.

This was the first Danielle Steel book I have read. I was surprised how many of the events were similar to things in the news. I enjoyed the story and how each of the main characters had their own demons to work through. I will read other books by her to see if they also have news events in them.

Decent chick lit story from Danielle Steel. I enjoy her books for the ease of reading them, the ability to read a decently written book without having to think or reach too deep into my head to process "life changing" subjects. This one does follow the "Danielle Steel formula:" difficult childhood, family drama, slow family healing, happy ending. It works for her, so why alter too much?

I actually enjoyed Melissa's character, even in the beginning when she was hard and rigid. She earned the right to be difficult and I admired everything she went through and her fierce independence. Good for her. I actually enjoyed all of the characters in the book. The storyline and various drama sections were well done (if not a bit "simple," but its difficult to get too in depth when you have a lot of drama to cover in a short span). My two biggest issues were that everything felt like it fell into place too easily (particularly the main theme - trying to avoid spoilers), AND the fact that Hattie's reasons for her life choices were just SO obvious, and yet Melissa just never even had a clue. But the little twist at the end was a pleasant surprise (I'm not typically surprised by Danielle Steel books). To summarize - if you're a fan of Danielle Steel, this is a good one. If you haven't read one of her books, this is a good one.

I haven't read this author in a long time but Finding Ashley is a signature Danielle Steel novel. It is the story of one woman's life journey, including the ups and downs; love and heartbreak; the lost and found. This novel is about opening doors to new opportunities when life takes an unexpected turn. The book is rich in character development and didn't sugarcoat series events. Well-written and entertaining, I rate this book 4 stars.

Thank you to netgalley for an advanced copy of Finding Ashley I in exchange for my honest review. I hadn’t read a Danielle Steel book in years. I recently read Royal last year and now Finding Ashley. It’s an easy read as her books usually are. I felt the beginning was a bit choppy and seemed hard to grasp where the story about the main character, Melissa, was headed. It starts out with Melissa giving up her life in New York as a well known writer after her son dies, and becoming a recluse in Massachusetts. It did move along better but was a bit repetitive throughout. Even though it was predictable, I still felt it was interesting enough and worth reading.

Oh how I love Danielle Steele! I'm always excited to read her books and this one definitely is a must read. Melissa was only 16 when she was forced to give her baby up for adoption in Ireland. Years pass and she tries to forget that part of her life including her sister Hattie who once was everything to her. She becomes a author and had a son. Tragedy finds her again when she looses her son to cancer. Years pass and when Hattie tells her she will help find the child she gave up for adoption no matter what it takes Melissa accepts knowing that it will be painful. A book that pulled my heartstrings and had me shed a few tears! A must read!

Finding Ashley is book that hows all the different situations a person could face in their lifetime, illness, marriage, divorce, natural disasters, adoption, etc. While the story was interesting and kept me reading, I have found that lately Danielle Steele is becoming repetitive in her storytelling.

There is so much that is crammed into this book that really is a little overwhelming. Sisters that are estranged, youth adoption trying to find a lost child, the death of a child, religious ill doing, Rape, MeToo vibes, and being recluse. I wish Danielle Steele would pick few and go with it and not try to cram all of history and social injustice into one novel. Fans of Danielle Steele will enjoy her twisting and unraveling of the plot there is just so much going on that it loses some of the reality of the book.

Thank you NetGalley, Danielle Steel and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine - Delacorte Press for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an impartial review; all opinions are my own.

I feel like I say this with every Danielle Steel book I read - but it seems like there is no end to her writing! She just keeps getting better and better!! This story is about relationships -- but really aren't all of hers -- but my favorite kind of relationships -- sibling, mother/daughter, divorce, finding love again -- she hits everything in 288 pages!! This is in my top 10 of Danielle Steel books - if you are fan of hers you know you are going to read it -- if you've never read a Danielle Steel book - start with this one!!

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy. This was one of the more entertaining and enjoyable Danielle Steel books I’ve read. So many of her main characters are shallow, but these seemed more normal to me. This covered a lot of hot topics and I found it interesting.

I have been reading Danielle's books for years and get most of them as an ARC.
This was a really easy, quick nice read.
A wonderful story of two sisters and their dysfunctional family upbringing and the consequences of it.
Usually Danielle's books have a female character that suffers an adversity in some way or another only to be redeemed but this story just flowed without much of that.
Thank you to Netgalley, Random House Ballantine and the Author Danielle Steel for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Finding Ashley is a heartbreakingly beautiful story about two sisters and the twisted journeys their lives take them on. Melissa and Hattie go through so much in this book that my heartstrings were strumming. From the captivating storyline to the believable characters and their real life heartaches this is another fantastic story by an amazing author.

I enjoyed this latest by Danielle Steel. The story centers on Melissa and Hattie who are sisters and how "Finding Ashley" affects their lives. The dual story lines kept the action moving along and Steel does her normal good job of getting you immersed in their stories right away.

My one quibble is with the portrayal of women religious in this story. While it is true the horrors depicted in the novel did occur it was further back in time than the novel says. The portrayal of Catholic Sisters is quite dated and really doesn't portray the leadership and social justice work of current day sisters. This portrayal seemed to come from a more pre-Vatican II time.

That said, it's still a good read if you're in the mood for. a Danielle Steel novel.

After losing her son to cancer, Melissa Henderson has become a recluse, giving up a lucrative career, her only focus is restoring her own home. Then a wildfire looms and could possibly destroy her home, which leads to a gradual reopening of her life...and heart. Her sister Hattie reaches out in an effort to restore their relationship. We then learn that Melissa became pregnant at sixteen and had to give up her daughter. A daughter she tracks down to find.
I remember reading Danielle Steele years ago and I am eager to read her titles. In Finding Ashley, there were a lot of repetition in the beginning and the overwhelming heavy narrative made it a tough start for me. I think fans will enjoy the read although for me, it wasn't a fave. I look forward to reading the other titles available.
Thank you #Netgalley

Danielle is one of my go-to authors and this book did not disappoint. It discussed real life issues - cancer, child loss, the church, and grief, all while keeping the reader entertained enough to not be completely sucked in by all that sadness.

Our main character loses her son and then her sister, who went and became a nun, convinces her to search for the baby girl her parents forced her to give up as a teen. The journey is a beautiful one and I'm so glad Mrs Steel took us on it with her!! 😻

Thanks netgalley for giving me the pdf so that I can share my thoughts and opinions with y'all 🧡
