All You Need Is Love is a tender story. Two wounded souls who have been hurt in love become friends. Jemma discovers her fiancé is rat just when her mother has a devastating diagnosis. Sam lost his whole world in one fell swoop. Can either learn to trust and love again? I thought Jemma was too trusting of fiancé and shouldn’t have even given him the time of day. I really liked background of friends who were Jemma’s support group. Deciding to get involved in a relationship after being burnt several times takes courage. I absolutely love the cover of this book.

A lovely story. Originally released as Bear with Me several years ago, this is an enjoyable story with good characters.

Another brilliant book from Jessica Redland about Gemma and Sam. They meet as friends, two emotionally damaged people who are struggling with what life has thrown at them. Every time they moved one step forward something happened to knock them back again.

I loved not only the two main characters but their family and friends and their stories too.

This book is so good you have to read it to understand how much!
It's an emotional story of two people who have found love in their life and have endured loss, will they be ready to embrace life again? Does the lighting strike the same place twice?
This was my first Jessica Redland's even though I have a couple of them on my TBR pile, and now I can't wait to start them! This book is beautifully written, you'll love not only the main characters, but all of them, because they all have a depth and insight that will stuck with you.
Lovely, lovely, lovely. Highly recommended!

Favorite Quotes:

Dad hated bears, Mum hated golf, and I was pretty certain they hated each other.

Kirsty begged me to take her back... It was a different technique each time from tears to seduction to pleading temporary insanity because she loved me so much and couldn’t bear being away from me. I never understood that logic. If you miss someone, you send them a text, you look at a photo, you sniff their clothes. You don’t play a game of hide the sausage dressed as a canine.

My Review:

I devoured this engaging and captivating tale, it was full of interesting and heart-squeezing storylines that while tragic and angsty, were so well written and expertly tempered with levity and quirkiness that I didn't seem to mind at all. I adored the main characters although there was a period where I wanted to give Jemma a few hard pinches and a much-needed kick to her posterior to dislodge her cranium. The path of this couple's relationship was a zigzag route of false starts and bad timing, and I wanted to groan with frustration for them with each near miss. The writing was easy to follow, informative, well-paced, and held my complete attention throughout. I adored the gradual melding of Flash Gordon/Thor/Indiana Jones and the Deputy Head Bear-Keeper. And I scored two fun new additions to my Brit word list with tiddly which is slightly drunk, and nithered which is used in northern UK and Scotland to describe the effects of extreme cold such as intense shivering.

I couldn’t wait to read this edition after reading Bear with me and I wasn’t disappointed. As a teddy bear lover, I could really related to how both Gemma and Julie love there work sooo much. This book has you laughing, crying and reading on as you can’t bear (sorry) to put it down. You can feel Sams heartbreak, Gemmas distrust and Julie’s devastation whilst imagining being there yourself. Jessica Redland you are a star and I can’t wait for more. I really hope that there is another chapter or two please of Thor, Sam and Gemma.

I was delighted to have the opportunity to read this latest novel from Jessica Redland. As with so many of her books, this one is set in the fictional Yorkshire seaside town of Whitsborough Bay and features a few of the characters who will be familiar to readers of her other books. This book was previously published under the title Bear With Me, the name of a teddy bear shop that features large in the story. I was drawn into this emotional story very quickly and finished it in no time.

This is the story of Jemma and Sam, both from Whitsborough Bay, but both residing in London at the start of the book. Jemma’s mum is owner of the teddy bear shop in the town, where she makes and sells designer bears as well as running workshops. It is her illness that ultimately brings Sam, a neurologist, and Jemma, a museum curator, together. Both of them are suffering broken hearts, Sam having lost the love of his life who died in his arms, and Jemma having found out in shocking fashion that her fiancé was not the man she thought he was. When they meet, there is friendship there, but as time goes by they begin to wonder if there could be more than that. Both are worried about moving on with their relationship, especially as all manner of obstacles move into their path.

Although this is a love story about Jemma and Sam, it is so much more than that. There is real depth and emotion to the narrative, several serious subjects, especially Jemma’s mum’s diagnosis with a cruel illness that affects so many, being covered with great sensitivity. The book is filled with likeable and strong characters and so much drama; the revelations just keep on coming. There are lots of tear-jerking moments in this story, but also many lighter parts to balance it out. As you can probably tell, I loved this book and would recommend it to absolutely anybody. I have read a great many of Jessica Redland’s books, but I think this one is my favourite so far.

A good story between Sam and Jemma. It’s makes you realise through sadness does come the happiness too. Maybe a sequel is due too.

A heartwarming and emotional story, with two people who have loved and lost. Together they find a friendship that allows them to start to heal. I adore the uplifting communities that Jessica writes so well in all her books, and the strength she gives her main characters is always inspiring to read. You really want them to succeed and to find happiness once more.
All You Need Is Love is a beautiful book that shows you that love, in all its forms is so important and that you should grab the opportunities that you are given.
Such a lovely story in a gorgeous setting, with added teddy bears, who could ask for more? 🧸

I received an advance copy of, All You Need Is Love, by Jessica Redland. I did not like the characters in this book at all. Weak, spineless, having and affair with a married man. Not a good character al all.

As much as I have really enjoyed reading Jessica's previous novels, this has to be my favourite by far. It is about two people drawn together through heartache. It is emotional but explores real life issues that has been written in a sensitive manner. Two extremely loving people called Jemma and Sam who are always doing stuff for others and put everyone before themselves experience utter heartbreak, I loved how the story develops, there are lots of turns that I never saw coming, I just didn't want the story to end. I couldn't and wouldn't put this book down. Jemma is a tough and strong woman, her mum is incredibly brave to accept what she is going through, the parts where her doctor doesn't seem to care reminded me of my own similar experiences that I have had, Sam seems a wonderful man who has really taken it hard what has happened to him, he has been through a lot and holding on to alot of things isn't helping him. This is a story that is relatable and will stay with me for a long time. It is sad and I did cry quite a bit, it made me feel really emotional finishing it which I have never had with a book before. It makes me want to hug my loved ones tighter as you never know what is around the corner.
