It's the holiday season and love is not in the air at H.E. Caldwell's department stores. The retailer has continued to grow and expand. New executives are being hired and old ones replaced. Power couple, Miles Bradshaw and Elle Sanford are on the outs, and it doesn't look like a reunion will happen any time soon.

Recently engaged, Cyndy Lawsen's been ghosted, and it looks like there's not going to be a wedding after all. Jacques Moreau is nowhere to be found. Jay Shulman continues to look for love in all the wrong places, and Monique Taylor is still on the hunt for Mr. Right Now.

At the start of the novel, so many characters were introduced, I couldn’t keep up. But too my surprise, this is the third book in a series. So, now I have to backtrack and learn more about each character.

Overall, the writing style was good. A cute holiday romance themed story. I liked the characters, as the stories of each person unfolded, I was intrigued. It had humor, drama and just enough romance to keep my interest, but not overwhelm me. I look forward to reading more of her work. #ByGolly. #NetGalley

I’ve been a fan of Marcia since her Kimani Romance and Arabesque days.

This is the first book in the H.E. Caldwell series and this is a short holiday novella about Elle and Miles getting a second chance at romance. I’m a big fan of second romances in book format. The couples are so cute when they been apart for a while and find their ways back to each other.

If you’re a fan of second chance romance then this is the book for your and it is a quick read. When you’re finishing reading By Golly, pick up book 2 in the H.E. Caldwell series “By Heart” you will not be disappointed. Both books are awesome.

By Golly was a quick cute love story about Elle and Miles who once dated and found their way back to each other. Thank you Netgalley for allowing me to read this ARC of By Golly.
