Thanks NetGalley, Amazon Original Stories and Jeffery Deaver for a copy to review.
A short twisted serial killer mystery that is witty and doesn't disappoint.
The conversations between Michael and almost anyone is academically smart, I loved it.

An excellent tale, as I have come to expect from Deaver, tightly plotted. Brilliant. Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for letting me have an advance reading copy, I really enjoyed the book.

This is a short, if action packed, crime story from popular thriller author, Jeffery Deaver, set in the Midwestern suburb of Handleman County. This is a great tale, where beware nothing is as it appears, with some great characters, and darkly twisty, although you will have to suspend your sense of disbelief. A nasty serial killer referred to as the Russian Doll Killer (RDK) as he leaves a Russian Doll at the scene of the crime, is running rings around law enforcement. At the County Sheriff's Office, led by Jimbo Rawlins, senior Detective Ernest Neville is getting desperate and is willing to consider any offbeat ideas to nail the killer. This is a entertaining and engaging short story that showcases Deaver's talents, a highlight of which is a particularly obnoxious, rude and unpleasant character, and how a charity donation comes to be made and appreciated by the Sheriff's Office. Many thanks to Amazon Original Stories for an ARC.

There’s not good explanation as to why I continue to try Deaver, except that it was there. I like novellas and novellettes so much and this was the latest of the format on Netgalley. Deaver for me is the very epitome of popular fiction, it’s rapid fire quick paced, immensely readable not that smart. Or, more accurately, it’s just smart enough to work as a thriller and throw in that famously Deaveresque twist ending, but none of it holds up to intellectual scrutiny i.e. it works if you don’t think about it too much. And having that been said, this was actually one of the more decent of his stories I’ve read. It was more entertaining somehow, maybe I just finally finetuned my expectations settings just right. Maybe it was genuinely an improvement, it was definitely funnier, in fact that was my favorite thing about it. So here you have a serial killer with a penchant for nesting dolls, a cop obsessed with nabbing him and one other player whom I can’t discuss in any detail whatsoever, because it’ll kill the surprise. The game’s afoot and it’s mildly entertaining to follow. It’s almost possible to be sufficiently amused by the obnoxious antics of one of the characters to ignore the preposterous logic of the plot twist. Cute ending too. At 66 pages it’s no great investment of time or effort, so it provides a perfectly decent diversion. Thanks Netgalley.

Detective Ernest Neville is on the hunt for the Russian Doll Killer whose MO is stabbing the victim and leaving a Russian nesting doll as a calling card. Short read. Would recommend

It's rare that an author excels in writing novels and short stories, but Jeffrey Deaver certainly does. Turning Point is another excellent short story, filled with real characters, a closely plotted story, and enough twists to satisfy most readers. I really enjoyed reading it.

Another great short story from Jeffery Deaver. I have loved his short stories published on Amazon. These are very enjoyable, and nice short reads. Still have the twist and turns that all great Deaver novel's have. Highly enjoyed.

Perfection! With an excellent plot and story, including a few twists, it's the dialogue that I like the best. It's fast and witty, and of course, a basis for the great characters.

Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC of Turning Point.

I've never read the author's previous books before though I've heard of him.

I was pleased to read Turning Point because I really enjoy mysteries featuring serial killers.

Though this is a brief, fast read with little to no character development, the pacing is fun, the characters are interesting and there was a twist I didn't see coming.

This is a good read for any fan of the author's or any fan of serial killer fiction.

RDK - The Russian Doll Killer has struck for the fourth time. It's confirmed, a serial killer is loose on the streets of Handleman County for their first ever. With this latest murder occurring only two weeks after the last one, it is clear that the killer is escalating.

RDK received his moniker based on the fact that a set of Russian Nesting Dolls were found at the scene of each of the murders.

Hunting RDK is Detective Ernest Neville who is determined to catch the killer and put him behind bars for the rest of his life.

When RDK strikes a little too close to home, Neville takes it personally. This solidifies the detective's determination to stop the killer once and for all. But, just who will outsmart who is anything but a foregone conclusion.

I loved the scene at the beginning of the book where reporters are asking the detective questions. When one reporter asks if the police had considered the possibility of the killer being Russian because of the dolls he leaves behind. This is the Detective's response to the question: "He ignored that [question], though the answer, had it been given by his six-year-old daughter, would be: 'Duh.'"

Although this is a work of short fiction, it is action packed and contains it a twist that readers will not see coming.

TURNING POINT is fast paced and due to it's length, can be read in a single weekend. I rate this book as 5 OUT OF 5 STARS ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Thank you Netgalley for providing me a copy of this book in exchange for a honest review.
Another one of Mr. Deaver's short stories, this one around 70 pages long, as exciting and suspenseful as his earlier works. Can the detective capture the serial killer before it's too late? Definitely read the book to find out, recommended read.

This was a brief but fun to read short story. As always, the author uses his mixture of mystery and suspense to keep the reader interested.
